1 สาวธานา ภวต, มนุชานฺ ทรฺศยิตุํ เตษำ โคจเร ธรฺมฺมกรฺมฺม มา กุรุต, ตถา กฺฤเต ยุษฺมากํ สฺวรฺคสฺถปิตุ: สกาศาตฺ กิญฺจน ผลํ น ปฺราปฺสฺยถฯ
Takith hede, that ye do not youre riytwisnesse bifor men, to be seyn of hem, ellis ye schulen haue no meede at youre fadir that is in heuenes.
2 ตฺวํ ยทา ททาสิ ตทา กปฏิโน ชนา ยถา มนุเชภฺย: ปฺรศํสำ ปฺราปฺตุํ ภชนภวเน ราชมารฺเค จ ตูรีํ วาทยนฺติ, ตถา มา กุริ, อหํ ตุภฺยํ ยถารฺถํ กถยามิ, เต สฺวกายํ ผลมฺ อลภนฺตฯ
Therfore whanne thou doist almes, nyle thou trumpe tofore thee, as ypocritis doon in synagogis and stretis, that thei be worschipid of men; sotheli Y seie to you, they han resseyued her meede.
3 กินฺตุ ตฺวํ ยทา ททาสิ, ตทา นิชทกฺษิณกโร ยตฺ กโรติ, ตทฺ วามกรํ มา ชฺญาปยฯ
But whanne thou doist almes, knowe not thi left hond what thi riyt hond doith, that thin almes be in hidils,
4 เตน ตว ทานํ คุปฺตํ ภวิษฺยติ ยสฺตุ ตว ปิตา คุปฺตทรฺศี, ส ปฺรกาศฺย ตุภฺยํ ผลํ ทาสฺยติฯ
and thi fadir that seeth in hiddils, schal quyte thee.
5 อปรํ ยทา ปฺรารฺถยเส, ตทา กปฏินอิว มา กุรุ, ยสฺมาตฺ เต ภชนภวเน ราชมารฺคสฺย โกเณ ติษฺฐนฺโต โลกานฺ ทรฺศยนฺต: ปฺรารฺถยิตุํ ปฺรียนฺเต; อหํ ยุษฺมานฺ ตถฺยํ วทามิ, เต สฺวกียผลํ ปฺราปฺนุวนฺฯ
And whanne ye preyen, ye schulen not be as ipocritis, that louen to preye stondynge in synagogis and corneris of stretis, to be seyn of men; treuli Y seie to you, thei han resseyued her meede.
6 ตสฺมาตฺ ปฺรารฺถนากาเล อนฺตราคารํ ปฺรวิศฺย ทฺวารํ รุทฺวฺวา คุปฺตํ ปศฺยตสฺตว ปิตุ: สมีเป ปฺรารฺถยสฺว; เตน ตว ย: ปิตา คุปฺตทรฺศี, ส ปฺรกาศฺย ตุภฺยํ ผลํ ทาสฺยติ
But whanne thou schalt preye, entre in to thi couche, and whanne the dore is schet, preye thi fadir in hidils, and thi fadir that seeth in hidils, schal yelde to thee.
7 อปรํ ปฺรารฺถนากาเล เทวปูชกาอิว มุธา ปุนรุกฺตึ มา กุรุ, ยสฺมาตฺ เต โพธนฺเต, พหุวารํ กถายำ กถิตายำ เตษำ ปฺรารฺถนา คฺราหิษฺยเตฯ
But in preiyng nyle yee speke myche, as hethene men doon, for thei gessen that thei ben herd in her myche speche.
8 ยูยํ เตษามิว มา กุรุต, ยสฺมาตฺ ยุษฺมากํ ยทฺ ยตฺ ปฺรโยชนํ ยาจนาต: ปฺราเคว ยุษฺมากํ ปิตา ตตฺ ชานาติฯ
Therfor nyle ye be maad lich to hem, for your fadir woot what is nede to you, bifore that ye axen hym.
9 อเตอว ยูยม อีทฺฤกฺ ปฺรารฺถยธฺวํ, เห อสฺมากํ สฺวรฺคสฺถปิต: , ตว นาม ปูชฺยํ ภวตุฯ
And thus ye schulen preye, Oure fadir that art in heuenes, halewid be thi name;
10 ตว ราชตฺวํ ภวตุ; ตเวจฺฉา สฺวรฺเค ยถา ตไถว เมทินฺยามปิ สผลา ภวตุฯ
thi kyngdoom come to; be thi wille don `in erthe as in heuene;
11 อสฺมากํ ปฺรโยชนียมฺ อาหารมฺ อทฺย เทหิฯ
yyue to vs this dai oure `breed ouer othir substaunce;
12 วยํ ยถา นิชาปราธิน: กฺษมามเห, ตไถวาสฺมากมฺ อปราธานฺ กฺษมสฺวฯ
and foryyue to vs oure dettis, as we foryyuen to oure dettouris;
13 อสฺมานฺ ปรีกฺษำ มานย, กินฺตุ ปาปาตฺมโน รกฺษ; ราชตฺวํ เคารวํ ปรากฺรม: เอเต สรฺเวฺว สรฺวฺวทา ตว; ตถาสฺตุฯ
and lede vs not in to temptacioun, but delyuere vs fro yuel. Amen.
14 ยทิ ยูยมฺ อเนฺยษามฺ อปราธานฺ กฺษมเธฺว ตรฺหิ ยุษฺมากํ สฺวรฺคสฺถปิตาปิ ยุษฺมานฺ กฺษมิษฺยเต;
For if ye foryyuen to men her synnes, youre heuenli fadir schal foryyue to you youre trespassis.
15 กินฺตุ ยทิ ยูยมฺ อเนฺยษามฺ อปราธานฺ น กฺษมเธฺว, ตรฺหิ ยุษฺมากํ ชนโกปิ ยุษฺมากมฺ อปราธานฺ น กฺษมิษฺยเตฯ
Sotheli if ye foryyuen not to men, nether youre fadir schal foryyue to you youre synnes.
16 อปรมฺ อุปวาสกาเล กปฏิโน ชนา มานุษานฺ อุปวาสํ ชฺญาปยิตุํ เสฺวษำ วทนานิ มฺลานานิ กุรฺวฺวนฺติ, ยูยํ ตอิว วิษณวทนา มา ภวต; อหํ ยุษฺมานฺ ตถฺยํ วทามิ เต สฺวกียผลมฺ อลภนฺตฯ
But whanne ye fasten, nyle ye be maad as ypocritis sorewful, for thei defacen hem silf, to seme fastyng to men; treuli Y seie to you, they han resseyued her meede.
17 ยทา ตฺวมฺ อุปวสสิ, ตทา ยถา โลไกสฺตฺวํ อุปวาสีว น ทฺฤศฺยเส, กินฺตุ ตว โย'โคจร: ปิตา เตไนว ทฺฤศฺยเส, ตตฺกฺฤเต นิชศิรสิ ไตลํ มรฺทฺทย วทนญฺจ ปฺรกฺษาลย;
But whanne thou fastist, anoynte thin heed, and waische thi face,
18 เตน ตว ย: ปิตา คุปฺตทรฺศี ส ปฺรกาศฺย ตุภฺยํ ผลํ ทาสฺยติฯ
that thou be not seen fastynge to men, but to thi fadir that is in hidlis, and thi fadir that seeth in priuey, shal yelde to thee.
19 อปรํ ยตฺร สฺถาเน กีฏา: กลงฺกาศฺจ กฺษยํ นยนฺติ, เจาราศฺจ สนฺธึ กรฺตฺตยิตฺวา โจรยิตุํ ศกฺนุวนฺติ, ตาทฺฤศฺยำ เมทินฺยำ สฺวารฺถํ ธนํ มา สํจินุตฯ
Nile ye tresoure to you tresouris in erthe, where ruste and mouyte destrieth, and where theues deluen out and stelen;
20 กินฺตุ ยตฺร สฺถาเน กีฏา: กลงฺกาศฺจ กฺษยํ น นยนฺติ, เจาราศฺจ สนฺธึ กรฺตฺตยิตฺวา โจรยิตุํ น ศกฺนุวนฺติ, ตาทฺฤเศ สฺวรฺเค ธนํ สญฺจินุตฯ
but gadere to you tresouris in heuene, where nether ruste ne mouyte distrieth, and where theues deluen not out, ne stelen.
21 ยสฺมาตฺ ยตฺร สฺถาเน ยุษฺมำก ธนํ ตไตฺรว ขาเน ยุษฺมากํ มนำสิฯ
For where thi tresoure is, there also thin herte is.
22 โลจนํ เทหสฺย ปฺรทีปกํ, ตสฺมาตฺ ยทิ ตว โลจนํ ปฺรสนฺนํ ภวติ, ตรฺหิ ตว กฺฤตฺสฺนํ วปุ รฺทีปฺติยุกฺตํ ภวิษฺยติฯ
The lanterne of thi bodi is thin iye; if thin iye be symple, al thi bodi shal be liytful;
23 กินฺตุ โลจเน'ปฺรสนฺเน ตว กฺฤตฺสฺนํ วปุ: ตมิสฺรยุกฺตํ ภวิษฺยติฯ อเตอว ยา ทีปฺติสฺตฺวยิ วิทฺยเต, สา ยทิ ตมิสฺรยุกฺตา ภวติ, ตรฺหิ ตตฺ ตมิสฺรํ กิยนฺ มหตฺฯ
but if thin iye be weiward, al thi bodi shal be derk. If thanne the liyt that is in thee be derknessis, how grete schulen thilk derknessis be?
24 โกปิ มนุโช เทฺวา ปฺรภู เสวิตุํ น ศกฺโนติ, ยสฺมาทฺ เอกํ สํมนฺย ตทนฺยํ น สมฺมนฺยเต, ยทฺวา เอกตฺร มโน นิธาย ตทนฺยมฺ อวมนฺยเต; ตถา ยูยมปีศฺวรํ ลกฺษฺมีญฺเจตฺยุเภ เสวิตุํ น ศกฺนุถฯ
No man may serue tweyn lordis, for ethir he schal hate `the toon, and loue the tother; ethir he shal susteyne `the toon, and dispise the tothir. Ye moun not serue God and richessis.
25 อปรมฺ อหํ ยุษฺมภฺยํ ตถฺยํ กถยามิ, กึ ภกฺษิษฺยาม: ? กึ ปาสฺยาม: ? อิติ ปฺราณธารณาย มา จินฺตยต; กึ ปริธาสฺยาม: ? อิติ กายรกฺษณาย น จินฺตยต; ภกฺษฺยาตฺ ปฺราณา วสนาญฺจ วปูํษิ กึ เศฺรษฺฐาณิ น หิ?
Therfor I seie to you, that ye be not bisi to youre lijf, what ye schulen ete; nether to youre bodi, with what ye schulen be clothid. Whether lijf is not more than meete, and the bodie more than cloth?
26 วิหายโส วิหงฺคมานฺ วิโลกยต; ไต โรฺนปฺยเต น กฺฤตฺยเต ภาณฺฑาคาเร น สญฺจียเต'ปิ; ตถาปิ ยุษฺมากํ สฺวรฺคสฺถ: ปิตา เตภฺย อาหารํ วิตรติฯ
Biholde ye the foulis of the eire, for thei sowen not, nethir repen, nethir gaderen in to bernes; and youre fadir of heuene fedith hem. Whether ye ben not more worthi than thei?
27 ยูยํ เตภฺย: กึ เศฺรษฺฐา น ภวถ? ยุษฺมากํ กศฺจิตฺ มนุช: จินฺตยนฺ นิชายุษ: กฺษณมปิ วรฺทฺธยิตุํ ศกฺโนติ?
But who of you thenkynge mai putte to his stature o cubit?
28 อปรํ วสนาย กุตศฺจินฺตยต? เกฺษโตฺรตฺปนฺนานิ ปุษฺปาณิ กถํ วรฺทฺธนฺเต ตทาโลจยตฯ ตานิ ตนฺตูนฺ โนตฺปาทยนฺติ กิมปิ การฺยฺยํ น กุรฺวฺวนฺติ;
And of clothing what ben ye bisye? Biholde ye the lilies of the feeld, how thei wexen. Thei trauelen not, nether spynnen;
29 ตถาปฺยหํ ยุษฺมานฺ วทามิ, สุเลมานฺ ตาทฺฤคฺ ไอศฺวรฺยฺยวานปิ ตตฺปุษฺปมิว วิภูษิโต นาสีตฺฯ
and Y seie to you, Salomon in al his glorie was not keuered as oon of these.
30 ตสฺมาตฺ กฺษทฺย วิทฺยมานํ ศฺจ: จุลฺลฺยำ นิกฺเษปฺสฺยเต ตาทฺฤศํ ยตฺ เกฺษตฺรสฺถิตํ กุสุมํ ตตฺ ยทีศฺจร อิตฺถํ พิภูษยติ, ตรฺหิ เห โสฺตกปฺรตฺยยิโน ยุษฺมานฺ กึ น ปริธาปยิษฺยติ?
And if God clothith thus the hei of the feeld, that to day is, and to morewe is cast in to an ouen, hou myche more you of litel feith?
31 ตสฺมาตฺ อสฺมาภิ: กิมตฺสฺยเต? กิญฺจ ปายิษฺยเต? กึ วา ปริธายิษฺยเต, อิติ น จินฺตยตฯ
Therfor nyle ye be bisi, seiynge, What schulen we ete? or, What schulen we drinke? or, With what thing schulen we be keuered?
32 ยสฺมาตฺ เทวารฺจฺจกา อปีติ เจษฺฏนฺเต; เอเตษุ ทฺรเวฺยษุ ปฺรโยชนมสฺตีติ ยุษฺมากํ สฺวรฺคสฺถ: ปิตา ชานาติฯ
For hethene men seken alle these thingis; and youre fadir woot, that ye han nede to alle these thingis.
33 อเตอว ปฺรถมต อีศฺวรียราชฺยํ ธรฺมฺมญฺจ เจษฺฏธฺวํ, ตต เอตานิ วสฺตูนิ ยุษฺมภฺยํ ปฺรทายิษฺยนฺเตฯ
Therfor seke ye first the kyngdom of God, and his riytfulnesse, and alle these thingis shulen be cast to you.
34 ศฺว: กฺฤเต มา จินฺตยต, ศฺเวอว สฺวยํ สฺวมุทฺทิศฺย จินฺตยิษฺยติ; อทฺยตนี ยา จินฺตา สาทฺยกฺฤเต ปฺรจุรตราฯ
Therfor nyle ye be bisy in to the morew, for the morew shal be bisi to `hym silf; for it suffisith to the dai his owen malice.
