1 เย ชนา อสฺมาภิ: สารฺทฺธมฺ อสฺตทีศฺวเร ตฺราตริ ยีศุขฺรีษฺเฏ จ ปุณฺยสมฺพลิตวิศฺวาสธนสฺย สมานำศิตฺวํ ปฺราปฺตาสฺตานฺ ปฺรติ ยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺย ทาส: เปฺรริตศฺจ ศิโมนฺ ปิตร: ปตฺรํ ลิขติฯ
Simon Peter, bondman and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have received like precious faith with us through [the] righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 อีศฺวรสฺยาสฺมากํ ปฺรโภ รฺยีโศศฺจ ตตฺวชฺญาเนน ยุษฺมาสฺวนุคฺรหศานฺโตฺย รฺพาหุลฺยํ วรฺตฺตตำฯ
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in [the] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3 ชีวนารฺถมฺ อีศฺวรภกฺตฺยรฺถญฺจ ยทฺยทฺ อาวศฺยกํ ตตฺ สรฺวฺวํ เคารวสทฺคุณาภฺยามฺ อสฺมทาหฺวานการิณสฺตตฺตฺวชฺญานทฺวารา ตเสฺยศฺวรียศกฺติรสฺมภฺยํ ทตฺตวตีฯ
As his divine power has given to us all things which relate to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that has called us by glory and virtue,
4 ตตฺสรฺเวฺวณ จาสฺมภฺยํ ตาทฺฤศา พหุมูลฺยา มหาปฺรติชฺญา ทตฺตา ยาภิ รฺยูยํ สํสารวฺยาปฺตาตฺ กุตฺสิตาภิลาษมูลาตฺ สรฺวฺวนาศาทฺ รกฺษำ ปฺราเปฺยศฺวรียสฺวภาวสฺยำศิโน ภวิตุํ ศกฺนุถฯ
through which he has given to us the greatest and precious promises, that through these ye may become partakers of [the] divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 ตโต เหโต รฺยูยํ สมฺปูรฺณํ ยตฺนํ วิธาย วิศฺวาเส เสาชนฺยํ เสาชเนฺย ชฺญานํ
But for this very reason also, using therewith all diligence, in your faith have also virtue, in virtue knowledge,
6 ชฺญาน อายเตนฺทฺริยตามฺ อายเตนฺทฺริยตายำ ไธรฺยฺยํ ไธรฺยฺย อีศฺวรภกฺติมฺ
in knowledge temperance, in temperance endurance, in endurance godliness,
7 อีศฺวรภกฺเตา ภฺราตฺฤเสฺนเห จ เปฺรม ยุงฺกฺตฯ
in godliness brotherly love, in brotherly love love:
8 เอตานิ ยทิ ยุษฺมาสุ วิทฺยนฺเต วรฺทฺธนฺเต จ ตรฺหฺยสฺมตฺปฺรโภ รฺยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺย ตตฺตฺวชฺญาเน ยุษฺมานฺ อลสานฺ นิษฺผลำศฺจ น สฺถาปยิษฺยนฺติฯ
for these things existing and abounding in you make [you] to be neither idle nor unfruitful as regards the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ;
9 กินฺเตฺวตานิ ยสฺย น วิทฺยนฺเต โส 'โนฺธ มุทฺริตโลจน: สฺวกียปูรฺวฺวปาปานำ มารฺชฺชนสฺย วิสฺมฺฤตึ คตศฺจฯ
for he with whom these things are not present is blind, short-sighted, and has forgotten the purging of his former sins.
10 ตสฺมาทฺ เห ภฺราตร: , ยูยํ สฺวกียาหฺวานวรณโย รฺทฺฤฒกรเณ พหุ ยตธฺวํ, ตตฺ กฺฤตฺวา กทาจ น สฺขลิษฺยถฯ
Wherefore the rather, brethren, use diligence to make your calling and election sure, for doing these things ye will never fall;
11 ยโต 'เนน ปฺรกาเรณาสฺมากํ ปฺรโภสฺตฺราตฺฤ รฺยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺยานนฺตราชฺยสฺย ปฺรเวเศน ยูยํ สุกเลน โยชยิษฺยเธฺวฯ (aiōnios g166)
for thus shall the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be richly furnished unto you. (aiōnios g166)
12 ยทฺยปิ ยูยมฺ เอตตฺ สรฺวฺวํ ชานีถ วรฺตฺตมาเน สตฺยมเต สุสฺถิรา ภวถ จ ตถาปิ ยุษฺมานฺ สรฺวฺวทา ตตฺ สฺมารยิตุมฺ อหมฺ อยตฺนวานฺ น ภวิษฺยามิฯ
Wherefore I will be careful to put you always in mind of these things, although knowing [them] and established in the present truth.
13 ยาวทฺ เอตสฺมินฺ ทูเษฺย ติษฺฐามิ ตาวทฺ ยุษฺมานฺ สฺมารยนฺ ปฺรโพธยิตุํ วิหิตํ มเนฺยฯ
But I account it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting [you] in remembrance,
14 ยโต 'สฺมากํ ปฺรภุ รฺยีศุขฺรีษฺโฏ มำ ยตฺ ชฺญาปิตวานฺ ตทนุสาราทฺ ทูษฺยเมตตฺ มยา ศีฆฺรํ ตฺยกฺตวฺยมฺ อิติ ชานามิฯ
knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is speedily [to take place], as also our Lord Jesus Christ has manifested to me;
15 มม ปรโลกคมนาตฺ ปรมปิ ยูยํ ยเทตานิ สฺมรฺตฺตุํ ศกฺษฺยถ ตสฺมินฺ สรฺวฺวถา ยติเษฺยฯ
but I will use diligence, that after my departure ye should have also, at any time, [in your power] to call to mind these things.
16 ยโต 'สฺมากํ ปฺรโภ รฺยีศุขฺรีษฺฏสฺย ปรากฺรมํ ปุนราคมนญฺจ ยุษฺมานฺ ชฺญาปยนฺโต วยํ กลฺปิตานฺยุปาขฺยานานฺยนฺวคจฺฉาเมติ นหิ กินฺตุ ตสฺย มหิมฺน: ปฺรตฺยกฺษสากฺษิโณ ภูตฺวา ภาษิตวนฺต: ฯ
For we have not made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, following cleverly imagined fables, but having been eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 ยต: ส ปิตุรีศฺวราทฺ เคารวํ ปฺรศํสาญฺจ ปฺราปฺตวานฺ วิเศษโต มหิมยุกฺตเตโชมธฺยาทฺ เอตาทฺฤศี วาณี ตํ ปฺรติ นิรฺคตวตี, ยถา, เอษ มม ปฺริยปุตฺร เอตสฺมินฺ มม ปรมสนฺโตษ: ฯ
For he received from God [the] Father honour and glory, such a voice being uttered to him by the excellent glory: This is my beloved Son, in whom I have found my delight;
18 สฺวรฺคาตฺ นิรฺคเตยํ วาณี ปวิตฺรปรฺวฺวเต เตน สารฺทฺธํ วิทฺยมาไนรสฺมาภิรศฺราวิฯ
and this voice we heard uttered from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain.
19 อปรมฺ อสฺมตฺสมีเป ทฺฤฒตรํ ภวิษฺยทฺวากฺยํ วิทฺยเต ยูยญฺจ ยทิ ทินารมฺภํ ยุษฺมนฺมน: สุ ปฺรภาตียนกฺษตฺรโสฺยทยญฺจ ยาวตฺ ติมิรมเย สฺถาเน ชฺวลนฺตํ ปฺรทีปมิว ตทฺ วากฺยํ สมฺมนฺยเธฺว ตรฺหิ ภทฺรํ กริษฺยถฯ
And we have the prophetic word [made] surer, to which ye do well taking heed (as to a lamp shining in an obscure place) until [the] day dawn and [the] morning star arise in your hearts;
20 ศาสฺตฺรียํ กิมปิ ภวิษฺยทฺวากฺยํ มนุษฺยสฺย สฺวกียภาวโพธกํ นหิ, เอตทฺ ยุษฺมาภิ: สมฺยกฺ ชฺญายตำฯ
knowing this first, that [the scope of] no prophecy of scripture is had from its own particular interpretation,
21 ยโต ภวิษฺยทฺวากฺยํ ปุรา มานุษาณามฺ อิจฺฉาโต โนตฺปนฺนํ กินฺตฺวีศฺวรสฺย ปวิตฺรโลกา: ปวิเตฺรณาตฺมนา ปฺรวรฺตฺติตา: สนฺโต วากฺยมฺ อภาษนฺตฯ
for prophecy was not ever uttered by [the] will of man, but holy men of God spake under the power of [the] Holy Spirit.
