1 ਕਰਿਨ੍ਥਨਗਰ ਆਪੱਲਸਃ ਸ੍ਥਿਤਿਕਾਲੇ ਪੌਲ ਉੱਤਰਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ੈਰਾਗੱਛਨ੍ ਇਫਿਸ਼਼ਨਗਰਮ੍ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍| ਤਤ੍ਰ ਕਤਿਪਯਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯ ਤਾਨ੍ ਅਪ੍ਰੁʼੱਛਤ੍,
While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the interior and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples
2 ਯੂਯੰ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸ੍ਯ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਮਾਤ੍ਮਾਨੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਤਾ ਨ ਵਾ? ਤਤਸ੍ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਵਦਨ੍ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਤ੍ਮਾ ਦੀਯਤੇ ਇਤ੍ਯਸ੍ਮਾਭਿਃ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤਮਪਿ ਨਹਿ|
and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?” “No,” they answered, “we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
3 ਤਦਾ ਸਾ(ਅ)ਵਦਤ੍ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਯੂਯੰ ਕੇਨ ਮੱਜਿਤਾ ਅਭਵਤ? ਤੇ(ਅ)ਕਥਯਨ੍ ਯੋਹਨੋ ਮੱਜਨੇਨ|
“Into what, then, were you baptized?” Paul asked. “The baptism of John,” they replied.
4 ਤਦਾ ਪੌਲ ਉਕ੍ਤਵਾਨ੍ ਇਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਯ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਾਸ੍ਯਤਿ ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਅਰ੍ਥਤ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੇ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸਿਤਵ੍ਯਮਿਤ੍ਯੁਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਯੋਹਨ੍ ਮਨਃਪਰਿਵਰ੍ੱਤਨਸੂਚਕੇਨ ਮੱਜਨੇਨ ਜਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਅਮੱਜਯਤ੍|
Paul explained: “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the One coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
5 ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੀਂ ਕਥਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਯੀਸ਼ੁਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯ ਨਾਮ੍ਨਾ ਮੱਜਿਤਾ ਅਭਵਨ੍|
On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 ਤਤਃ ਪੌਲੇਨ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਗਾਤ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਕਰੇ(ਅ)ਰ੍ਪਿਤੇ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮੁਪਰਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਆਤ੍ਮਾਵਰੂਢਵਾਨ੍, ਤਸ੍ਮਾਤ੍ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਾਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਾ ਭਾਸ਼਼ਾ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤ੍ਕਥਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਕਥਿਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
7 ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਯੇਣ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ਼ਜਨਾ ਆਸਨ੍|
There were about twelve men in all.
8 ਪੌਲੋ ਭਜਨਭਵਨੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਯੇਣ ਮਾਸਤ੍ਰਯਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਰਾਜ੍ਯਸ੍ਯ ਵਿਚਾਰੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਵਰ੍ਤ੍ਯ ਸਾਹਸੇਨ ਕਥਾਮਕਥਯਤ੍|
Then Paul went into the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.
9 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਕਠਿਨਾਨ੍ਤਃਕਰਣਤ੍ਵਾਤ੍ ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤੋ ਜਨਾ ਨ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਸ੍ਯ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸਮਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਮ੍ ਏਤਤ੍ਪਥਸ੍ਯ ਨਿਨ੍ਦਾਂ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁੰ ਪ੍ਰਵ੍ਰੁʼੱਤਾਃ, ਅਤਃ ਪੌਲਸ੍ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸਮੀਪਾਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਸ੍ਥਾਯ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਗਣੰ ਪ੍ਰੁʼਥੱਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਹੰ ਤੁਰਾੰਨਨਾਮ੍ਨਃ ਕਸ੍ਯਚਿਤ੍ ਜਨਸ੍ਯ ਪਾਠਸ਼ਾਲਾਯਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਰੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਾਨ੍|
But when some of them stubbornly refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way, Paul took his disciples and left the synagogue to conduct daily discussions in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.
10 ਇੱਥੰ ਵਤ੍ਸਰਦ੍ਵਯੰ ਗਤੰ ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਆਸ਼ਿਯਾਦੇਸ਼ਨਿਵਾਸਿਨਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾ ਅਨ੍ਯਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਲੋਕਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਯੀਸ਼ੋਃ ਕਥਾਮ੍ ਅਸ਼੍ਰੌਸ਼਼ਨ੍|
This continued for two years, so that everyone who lived in the province of Asia, Jews and Greeks alike, heard the word of the Lord.
11 ਪੌਲੇਨ ਚ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰ ਏਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ਾਨ੍ਯਦ੍ਭੁਤਾਨਿ ਕਰ੍ੰਮਾਣਿ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਾਨ੍
God did extraordinary miracles through the hands of Paul,
12 ਯਤ੍ ਪਰਿਧੇਯੇ ਗਾਤ੍ਰਮਾਰ੍ਜਨਵਸ੍ਤ੍ਰੇ ਵਾ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਦੇਹਾਤ੍ ਪੀਡਿਤਲੋਕਾਨਾਮ੍ ਸਮੀਪਮ੍ ਆਨੀਤੇ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਾਮਯਾ ਜਾਤਾ ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਭੂਤਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਤੇਭ੍ਯੋ ਬਹਿਰ੍ਗਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and the diseases and evil spirits left them.
13 ਤਦਾ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਟਨਕਾਰਿਣਃ ਕਿਯਨ੍ਤੋ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾ ਭੂਤਾਪਸਾਰਿਣੋ ਭੂਤਗ੍ਰਸ੍ਤਨੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਸੰਨਿਧੌ ਪ੍ਰਭੇ ਰ੍ਯੀਸ਼ੋ ਰ੍ਨਾਮ ਜਪ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਵਾਕ੍ਯਮਿਦਮ੍ ਅਵਦਨ੍, ਯਸ੍ਯ ਕਥਾਂ ਪੌਲਃ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਯਤਿ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਯੀਸ਼ੋ ਰ੍ਨਾਮ੍ਨਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਆਜ੍ਞਾਪਯਾਮਃ|
Now there were some itinerant Jewish exorcists who tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those with evil spirits. They would say, “I bind you by Jesus, whom Paul proclaims.”
14 ਸ੍ਕਿਵਨਾਮ੍ਨੋ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਯਾਜਕਸ੍ਯ ਸਪ੍ਤਭਿਃ ਪੁੱਤੈਸ੍ਤਥਾ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਸਤਿ
Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.
15 ਕਸ਼੍ਚਿਦ੍ ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੋ ਭੂਤਃ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੁਦਿਤਵਾਨ੍, ਯੀਸ਼ੁੰ ਜਾਨਾਮਿ ਪੌਲਞ੍ਚ ਪਰਿਚਿਨੋਮਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਕੇ ਯੂਯੰ?
Eventually, one of the evil spirits answered them, “Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?”
16 ਇਤ੍ਯੁਕ੍ਤ੍ਵਾ ਸੋਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਭੂਤਗ੍ਰਸ੍ਤੋ ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯੋ ਲਮ੍ਫੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਮੁਪਰਿ ਪਤਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਬਲੇਨ ਤਾਨ੍ ਜਿਤਵਾਨ੍, ਤਸ੍ਮਾੱਤੇ ਨਗ੍ਨਾਃ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਤਾਙ੍ਗਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਸਨ੍ਤਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਗੇਹਾਤ੍ ਪਲਾਯਨ੍ਤ|
Then the man with the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. The attack was so violent that they ran out of the house naked and wounded.
17 ਸਾ ਵਾਗ੍ ਇਫਿਸ਼਼ਨਗਰਨਿਵਾਸਿਨਸੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਭਿੰਨਦੇਸ਼ੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਨਾਞ੍ਚ ਸ਼੍ਰਵੋਗੋਚਰੀਭੂਤਾ; ਤਤਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਭਯੰ ਗਤਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਯੀਸ਼ੋ ਰ੍ਨਾਮ੍ਨੋ ਯਸ਼ੋ (ਅ)ਵਰ੍ੱਧਤ|
This became known to all the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, and fear came over all of them. So the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.
18 ਯੇਸ਼਼ਾਮਨੇਕੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤਿਰਜਾਯਤ ਤ ਆਗਤ੍ਯ ਸ੍ਵੈਃ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਾਃ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਰੂਪੇਣਾਙ੍ਗੀਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
Many who had believed now came forward, confessing and disclosing their deeds.
19 ਬਹਵੋ ਮਾਯਾਕਰ੍ੰਮਕਾਰਿਣਃ ਸ੍ਵਸ੍ਵਗ੍ਰਨ੍ਥਾਨ੍ ਆਨੀਯ ਰਾਸ਼ੀਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸਮਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਮ੍ ਅਦਾਹਯਨ੍, ਤਤੋ ਗਣਨਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾਬੁਧ੍ਯਨ੍ਤ ਪਞ੍ਚਾਯੁਤਰੂਪ੍ਯਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਮੂਲ੍ਯਪੁਸ੍ਤਕਾਨਿ ਦਗ੍ਧਾਨਿ|
And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books and burned them in front of everyone. When the value of the books was calculated, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.
20 ਇੱਥੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੋਃ ਕਥਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਦੇਸ਼ੰ ਵ੍ਯਾਪ੍ਯ ਪ੍ਰਬਲਾ ਜਾਤਾ|
So the word of the Lord powerfully continued to spread and prevail.
21 ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼੍ਵੇਤੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਕਰ੍ੰਮਸੁ ਸਮ੍ਪੰਨੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਸਤ੍ਸੁ ਪੌਲੋ ਮਾਕਿਦਨਿਯਾਖਾਯਾਦੇਸ਼ਾਭ੍ਯਾਂ ਯਿਰੂਸ਼ਾਲਮੰ ਗਨ੍ਤੁੰ ਮਤਿੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਤਤ੍ਸ੍ਥਾਨੰ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾਯਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਾਯਾਂ ਸਤ੍ਯਾਂ ਮਯਾ ਰੋਮਾਨਗਰੰ ਦ੍ਰਸ਼਼੍ਟਵ੍ਯੰ|
After these things had happened, Paul resolved in the Spirit to go to Jerusalem after he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia. “After I have been there,” he said, “I must see Rome as well.”
22 ਸ੍ਵਾਨੁਗਤਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਤੀਮਥਿਯੇਰਾਸ੍ਤੌ ਦ੍ਵੌ ਜਨੌ ਮਾਕਿਦਨਿਯਾਦੇਸ਼ੰ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਤ੍ਯ ਸ੍ਵਯਮ੍ ਆਸ਼ਿਯਾਦੇਸ਼ੇ ਕਤਿਪਯਦਿਨਾਨਿ ਸ੍ਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍|
He sent two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, while he stayed for a time in the province of Asia.
23 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਸਮਯੇ ਮਤੇ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਕਲਹੋ ਜਾਤਃ|
About that time there arose a great disturbance about the Way.
24 ਤਤ੍ਕਾਰਣਮਿਦੰ, ਅਰ੍ੱਤਿਮੀਦੇਵ੍ਯਾ ਰੂਪ੍ਯਮਨ੍ਦਿਰਨਿਰ੍ੰਮਾਣੇਨ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸ਼ਿਲ੍ਪਿਨਾਂ ਯਥੇਸ਼਼੍ਟਲਾਭਮ੍ ਅਜਨਯਤ੍ ਯੋ ਦੀਮੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਨਾਮਾ ਨਾਡੀਨ੍ਧਮਃ
It began with a silversmith named Demetrius who made silver shrines of Artemis, bringing much business to the craftsmen.
25 ਸ ਤਾਨ੍ ਤਤ੍ਕਰ੍ੰਮਜੀਵਿਨਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਲੋਕਾਂਸ਼੍ਚ ਸਮਾਹੂਯ ਭਾਸ਼਼ਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਹੇ ਮਹੇੱਛਾ ਏਤੇਨ ਮਨ੍ਦਿਰਨਿਰ੍ੰਮਾਣੇਨਾਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਜੀਵਿਕਾ ਭਵਤਿ, ਏਤਦ੍ ਯੂਯੰ ਵਿੱਥ;
Demetrius assembled the craftsmen, along with the workmen in related trades. “Men,” he said, “you know that this business is our source of prosperity.
26 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਹਸ੍ਤਨਿਰ੍ੰਮਿਤੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਾ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਾ ਨਹਿ ਪੌਲਨਾਮ੍ਨਾ ਕੇਨਚਿੱਜਨੇਨ ਕਥਾਮਿਮਾਂ ਵ੍ਯਾਹ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯ ਕੇਵਲੇਫਿਸ਼਼ਨਗਰੇ ਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਯੇਣ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਆਸ਼ਿਯਾਦੇਸ਼ੇ ਪ੍ਰਵ੍ਰੁʼੱਤਿੰ ਗ੍ਰਾਹਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਬਹੁਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਸ਼ੇਮੁਸ਼਼ੀ ਪਰਾਵਰ੍ੱਤਿਤਾ, ਏਤਦ੍ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭਿ ਰ੍ਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼੍ਯਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੂਯਤੇ ਚ|
And you can see and hear that not only in Ephesus, but in nearly the whole province of Asia, Paul has persuaded a great number of people to turn away. He says that man-made gods are no gods at all.
27 ਤੇਨਾਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਵਾਣਿਜ੍ਯਸ੍ਯ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਥਾ ਹਾਨੇਃ ਸਮ੍ਭਵਨੰ ਕੇਵਲਮਿਤਿ ਨਹਿ, ਆਸ਼ਿਯਾਦੇਸ਼ਸ੍ਥੈ ਰ੍ਵਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਜਗਤ੍ਸ੍ਥੈ ਰ੍ਲੋਕੈਃ ਪੂਜ੍ਯਾ ਯਾਰ੍ਤਿਮੀ ਮਹਾਦੇਵੀ ਤਸ੍ਯਾ ਮਨ੍ਦਿਰਸ੍ਯਾਵਜ੍ਞਾਨਸ੍ਯ ਤਸ੍ਯਾ ਐਸ਼੍ਵਰ੍ੱਯਸ੍ਯ ਨਾਸ਼ਸ੍ਯ ਚ ਸਮ੍ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਿਦ੍ਯਤੇ|
There is danger not only that our business will fall into disrepute, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be discredited and her majesty deposed—she who is worshiped by all the province of Asia and the whole world.”
28 ਏਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੀਂ ਕਥਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੇ ਮਹਾਕ੍ਰੋਧਾਨ੍ਵਿਤਾਃ ਸਨ੍ਤ ਉੱਚੈਃਕਾਰੰ ਕਥਿਤਵਨ੍ਤ ਇਫਿਸ਼਼ੀਯਾਨਾਮ੍ ਅਰ੍ੱਤਿਮੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਮਹਤੀ ਭਵਤਿ|
When the men heard this, they were enraged and began shouting, “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”
29 ਤਤਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਨਗਰੰ ਕਲਹੇਨ ਪਰਿਪੂਰ੍ਣਮਭਵਤ੍, ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਤੇ ਮਾਕਿਦਨੀਯਗਾਯਾਰਿਸ੍ਤਾਰ੍ਖਨਾਮਾਨੌ ਪੌਲਸ੍ਯ ਦ੍ਵੌ ਸਹਚਰੌ ਧ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵੈਕਚਿੱਤਾ ਰਙ੍ਗਭੂਮਿੰ ਜਵੇਨ ਧਾਵਿਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
Soon the whole city was in disarray. They rushed together into the theatre, dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul’s traveling companions from Macedonia.
30 ਤਤਃ ਪੌਲੋ ਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਸੰਨਿਧਿੰ ਯਾਤੁਮ੍ ਉਦ੍ਯਤਵਾਨ੍ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਗਣਸ੍ਤੰ ਵਾਰਿਤਵਾਨ੍|
Paul wanted to go before the assembly, but the disciples would not allow him.
31 ਪੌਲਸ੍ਯਤ੍ਮੀਯਾ ਆਸ਼ਿਯਾਦੇਸ਼ਸ੍ਥਾਃ ਕਤਿਪਯਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਲੋਕਾਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸਮੀਪੰ ਨਰਮੇਕੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼਼੍ਯ ਤ੍ਵੰ ਰਙ੍ਗਭੂਮਿੰ ਮਾਗਾ ਇਤਿ ਨ੍ਯਵੇਦਯਨ੍|
Even some of Paul’s friends who were officials of the province of Asia sent word to him, begging him not to venture into the theatre.
32 ਤਤੋ ਨਾਨਾਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਨਾਕਥਾਕਥਨਾਤ੍ ਸਭਾ ਵ੍ਯਾਕੁਲਾ ਜਾਤਾ ਕਿੰ ਕਾਰਣਾਦ੍ ਏਤਾਵਤੀ ਜਨਤਾਭਵਤ੍ ਏਤਦ੍ ਅਧਿਕੈ ਰ੍ਲੋਕੈ ਰ੍ਨਾਜ੍ਞਾਯਿ|
Meanwhile the assembly was in turmoil. Some were shouting one thing and some another, and most of them did not even know why they were there.
33 ਤਤਃ ਪਰੰ ਜਨਤਾਮਧ੍ਯਾਦ੍ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯੈਰ੍ਬਹਿਸ਼਼੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਃ ਸਿਕਨ੍ਦਰੋ ਹਸ੍ਤੇਨ ਸਙ੍ਕੇਤੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਲੋਕੇਭ੍ਯ ਉੱਤਰੰ ਦਾਤੁਮੁਦ੍ਯਤਵਾਨ੍,

34 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਸ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਲੋਕ ਇਤਿ ਨਿਸ਼੍ਚਿਤੇ ਸਤਿ ਇਫਿਸ਼਼ੀਯਾਨਾਮ੍ ਅਰ੍ੱਤਿਮੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਮਹਤੀਤਿ ਵਾਕ੍ਯੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਯੇਣ ਪਞ੍ਚ ਦਣ੍ਡਾਨ੍ ਯਾਵਦ੍ ਏਕਸ੍ਵਰੇਣ ਲੋਕਨਿਵਹੈਃ ਪ੍ਰੋਕ੍ਤੰ|

35 ਤਤੋ ਨਗਰਾਧਿਪਤਿਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਸ੍ਥਿਰਾਨ੍ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਕਥਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਹੇ ਇਫਿਸ਼਼ਾਯਾਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਲੋਕਾ ਆਕਰ੍ਣਯਤ, ਅਰ੍ਤਿਮੀਮਹਾਦੇਵ੍ਯਾ ਮਹਾਦੇਵਾਤ੍ ਪਤਿਤਾਯਾਸ੍ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਤਿਮਾਯਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਪੂਜਨਮ ਇਫਿਸ਼਼ਨਗਰਸ੍ਥਾਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਲੋਕਾਃ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤਿ, ਏਤਤ੍ ਕੇ ਨ ਜਾਨਨ੍ਤਿ?

Since these things are undeniable, you ought to be calm and not do anything rash.
37 ਯਾਨ੍ ਏਤਾਨ੍ ਮਨੁਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਨ੍ ਯੂਯਮਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਨਯਤ ਤੇ ਮਨ੍ਦਿਰਦ੍ਰਵ੍ਯਾਪਹਾਰਕਾ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਦੇਵ੍ਯਾ ਨਿਨ੍ਦਕਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਨ ਭਵਨ੍ਤਿ|
For you have brought these men here, though they have neither robbed our temple nor blasphemed our goddess.
38 ਯਦਿ ਕਞ੍ਚਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਦੀਮੀਤ੍ਰਿਯਸ੍ਯ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਸਹਾਯਾਨਾਞ੍ਚ ਕਾਚਿਦ੍ ਆਪੱਤਿ ਰ੍ਵਿਦ੍ਯਤੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਨਿਧਿਲੋਕਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਸ੍ਥਾਨਞ੍ਚ ਸਨ੍ਤਿ, ਤੇ ਤਤ੍ ਸ੍ਥਾਨੰ ਗਤ੍ਵਾ ਉੱਤਰਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੁੱਤਰੇ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤੁ|
So if Demetrius and his fellow craftsmen have a complaint against anyone, the courts are open and proconsuls are available. Let them bring charges against one another there.
39 ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕਾਚਿਦਪਰਾ ਕਥਾ ਯਦਿ ਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਨਿਯਮਿਤਾਯਾਂ ਸਭਾਯਾਂ ਤਸ੍ਯਾ ਨਿਸ਼਼੍ਪੱਤਿ ਰ੍ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ|
But if you are seeking anything beyond this, it must be settled in a legal assembly.
40 ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵੇਤਸ੍ਯ ਵਿਰੋਧਸ੍ਯੋੱਤਰੰ ਯੇਨ ਦਾਤੁੰ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੁਮ੍ ਏਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ਸ੍ਯ ਕਸ੍ਯਚਿਤ੍ ਕਾਰਣਸ੍ਯਾਭਾਵਾਦ੍ ਅਦ੍ਯਤਨਘਟਨਾਹੇਤੋ ਰਾਜਦ੍ਰੋਹਿਣਾਮਿਵਾਸ੍ਮਾਕਮ੍ ਅਭਿਯੋਗੋ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤੀਤਿ ਸ਼ਙ੍ਕਾ ਵਿਦ੍ਯਤੇ|

41 ਇਤਿ ਕਥਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਸ ਸਭਾਸ੍ਥਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਵਿਸ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼੍ਟਵਾਨ੍|
After he had said this, he dismissed the assembly.
