1 Дупэ че с-а сфыршит лукрул ачеста, кэпетенииле с-ау апропият де мине ши ау зис: „Попорул луй Исраел, преоций ши левиций ну с-ау деспэрцит де попоареле ачестор цэрь ши ау фэкут урычуниле лор, але канааницилор, хетицилор, ферезицилор, иебусицилор, амоницилор, моабицилор, еӂиптенилор ши аморицилор.
After these things had been accomplished, the leaders approached me and said, “The people of Israel, including the priests and Levites, have not kept themselves separate from the surrounding peoples whose abominations are like those of the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians, and Amorites.
2 Кэч шь-ау луат невесте дин фетеле лор пентру ей ши пентру фиий лор ши ау аместекат нямул сфынт ку попоареле цэрилор ачестора. Ши кэпетенииле ши дрегэторий ау фост чей динтый каре ау сэвыршит пэкатул ачеста.”
Indeed, the Israelites have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, so that the holy seed has been mixed with the people of the land. And the leaders and officials have taken the lead in this unfaithfulness!”
3 Кынд ам аузит лукрул ачеста, мь-ам сфышият хайнеле ши мантауа, мь-ам смулс пэрул дин кап ши перий дин барбэ ши ам стат жос мыхнит.
When I heard this report, I tore my tunic and cloak, pulled out some hair from my head and beard, and sat down in horror.
4 Атунч с-ау стрынс ла мине тоць чей че се темяу де кувинтеле Думнезеулуй луй Исраел, дин причина пэкатулуй фиилор робией. Ши еу ам стат жос мыхнит пынэ ла жертфа де сярэ.
Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel gathered around me because of the unfaithfulness of the exiles, while I sat there in horror until the evening offering.
5 Апой, ын клипа жертфей де сярэ, м-ам скулат дин смериря мя, ку хайнеле ши мантауа сфышияте, ам кэзут ын ӂенункь, ам ынтинс мыниле спре Домнул Думнезеул меу ши ам зис:
At the evening offering, I got up from my humiliation with my tunic and cloak torn, and I fell on my knees, spread out my hands to the LORD my God,
6 „Думнезеуле, сунт улуит ши мь-е рушине, Думнезеуле, сэ-мь ридик фаца спре Тине. Кэч фэрэделеӂиле ноастре с-ау ынмулцит дясупра капетелор ноастре ши грешелиле ноастре ау ажунс пынэ ла черурь.
and said: “O my God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift up my face to You, my God, because our iniquities are higher than our heads, and our guilt has reached the heavens.
7 Дин зилеле пэринцилор ноштри, ам фост фоарте виноваць пынэ ын зиуа де азь ши дин причина фэрэделеӂилор ноастре ам фост даць ной, ымпэраций ноштри ши преоций ноштри ын мыниле ымпэрацилор стрэинь, прадэ сабией, робией, жафулуй ши рушиний каре не акоперэ астэзь фаца.
From the days of our fathers to this day, our guilt has been great. Because of our iniquities, we and our kings and priests have been delivered into the hands of the kings of the earth and put to the sword and captivity, to pillage and humiliation, as we are this day.
8 Ши тотушь Домнул Думнезеул ностру С-а ындурат де ной, лэсынду-не кыцьва оамень скэпаць ши дынду-не ун адэпост ын локул Луй чел сфынт, ка сэ не луминезе окий ши сэ не дя пуцинэ рэсуфларе ын мижлокул робией ноастре.
But now, for a brief moment, grace has come from the LORD our God to preserve for us a remnant and to give us a stake in His holy place. Even in our bondage, our God has given us new life and light to our eyes.
9 Кэч сунтем робь, дар Думнезеу ну не-а пэрэсит ын робия ноастрэ. А ындрептат спре ной бунэвоинца ымпэрацилор першилор ши ей не-ау дат о ноуэ путере де вяцэ, ка сэ путем зиди Каса Думнезеулуй ностру ши сэ-й дреӂем дэрымэтуриле, фэкынду-не астфел рост де ун лок де адэпост ын Иуда ши ла Иерусалим.
Though we are slaves, our God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but He has extended to us grace in the sight of the kings of Persia, giving us new life to rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, and giving us a wall of protection in Judah and Jerusalem.
10 Акум, че сэ май зичем ной дупэ ачесте лукрурь, Думнезеуле? Кэч ам пэрэсит порунчиле Тале,
And now, our God, what can we say after this? For we have forsaken the commandments
11 пе каре ни ле порунчисешь прин робий Тэй, пророчий, зикынд: ‘Цара ын каре интраць с-о стэпыниць есте о царэ ынтинатэ де некурэцииле попоарелор дин ачесте цинутурь, де урычуниле ку каре ау умплут-о де ла ун капэт ла алтул, ку некурэцииле лор.
that You gave through Your servants the prophets, saying: ‘The land that you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the impurity of its peoples and the abominations with which they have filled it from end to end.
12 Сэ ну даць деч пе фетеле воастре дупэ фиий лор, нич сэ ну луаць пе фетеле лор де невесте пентру фиий воштри ши сэ ну вэ песе ничодатэ нич де пропэширя лор, нич де бунэстаря лор. Ын кипул ачеста вець ажунӂе тарь, вець мынка челе май буне роаде але цэрий ши о вець лэса пе вечь моштенире фиилор воштри.’
Now, therefore, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters for your sons. Never seek their peace or prosperity, so that you may be strong and may eat the good things of the land, leaving it as an inheritance to your sons forever.’
13 Дупэ тот че ни с-а ынтымплат дин причина фаптелор реле ши а марилор грешель пе каре ле-ам фэкут, мэкар кэ Ту, Думнезеуле, ну не-ай педепсит дупэ фэрэделеӂиле ноастре, се кувине ка, акум, кынд не-ай пэстрат пе ачешть оамень скэпаць,
After all that has come upon us because of our evil deeds and our great guilt (though You, our God, have punished us less than our iniquities deserve and have given us such a remnant as this),
14 сэ ынчепем ярэшь сэ кэлкэм порунчиле Тале ши сэ не ынкускрим ку ачесте попоаре урычоасе? Н-ар избукни атунч ярэшь мыния Та ымпотрива ноастрэ, пынэ аколо ынкыт не-ар нимичи, фэрэ сэ ласе нич рэмэшицэ, нич робь избэвиць?
shall we again break Your commandments and intermarry with the peoples who commit these abominations? Would You not become so angry with us as to wipe us out, leaving no remnant or survivor?
15 Доамне, Думнезеул луй Исраел, Ту ешть дрепт, кэч астэзь ной сунтем о рэмэшицэ де робь избэвиць. Ятэ-не ынаинтя Та ка ниште виноваць ши дин ачастэ причинэ ну путем ста ынаинтя Та.”
O LORD, God of Israel, You are righteous! For we remain this day as a remnant. Here we are before You in our guilt, though because of it no one can stand before You.”
