Psalmii 143
1 Un psalm al lui David. Ascultă rugăciunea mea, DOAMNE, deschide urechea la cererile mele, răspunde-mi în credincioșia și în dreptatea ta.
A Melody of David. O Yahweh, hear my prayer, Give ear to my supplications, In thy faithfulness, answer me, in thy righteousness.
2 Și nu intra la judecată cu servitorul tău, pentru că înaintea ta niciun om viu nu va fi declarat drept.
Do not then enter into judgment with thy servant, for no one living, can appear just before thee.
3 Pentru că dușmanul mi-a persecutat sufletul; mi-a doborât viața la pământ; m-a făcut să locuiesc în întuneric, ca pe cei ce sunt demult morți.
For an enemy hath pursued my soul, hath crushed, to the earth, my life, hath made me dwell in dark places, like the ancient dead.
4 De aceea este duhul meu copleșit înăuntrul meu; inima îmi este pustie în mine.
Therefore hath my spirit, fainted concerning myself, Within me, hath, my heart, been confounded.
5 Îmi amintesc zilele din vechime; meditez la toate lucrările tale; cuget la lucrarea mâinilor tale.
I have remembered the days of aforetime, I have talked with myself of every deed of thine, Of the work of thy hands, I would speak:
6 Îmi întind mâinile spre tine, sufletul meu însetează după tine, ca un pământ însetat. (Selah)
I have spread out my hands unto thee, My soul, is as a thirsty land, for thee. (Selah)
7 Grăbește să mă asculți, DOAMNE, duhul meu se sfârșește, nu îți ascunde fața de la mine, ca nu cumva să fiu asemenea celor ce coboară în groapă.
Speedily answer me, O Yahweh, My spirit faileth, —Do not hide thy face from me, or I shall be made like unto them who go down into the pit.
8 Fă-mă să aud bunătatea ta iubitoare dimineața, pentru că în tine mă încred; fă-mă să cunosc calea în care ar trebui să umblu, căci îmi înalț sufletul spre tine.
Let me hear, in the morning, thy lovingkindness, for, in thee, have, I trusted, —Let me know the way in which I should walk, for, unto thee, have I uplifted my soul.
9 Scapă-mă, DOAMNE, de dușmanii mei, eu fug la tine pentru a mă ascunde.
Rescue me from my foes, O Yahweh, Unto thee, have I come seeking refuge.
10 Învață-mă să fac voia ta, pentru că tu ești Dumnezeul meu, duhul tău este bun; condu-mă în țara integrității.
Teach me to do thy good pleasure, for, thou, art my God, —Thy spirit, is good, thou wilt set me down to rest in a level land.
11 Dă-mi viață, DOAMNE, pentru numele tău, pentru dreptatea ta scoate-mi sufletul din tulburare.
For the sake of thy Name, O Yahweh, wilt thou give unto me life, In thy righteousness, wilt thou bring forth, out of distress, my soul;
12 Și în mila ta stârpește pe dușmanii mei și nimicește-i pe toți cei ce îmi chinuiesc sufletul, căci eu sunt servitorul tău.
And, in thy lovingkindness, wilt thou exterminate my foes, —and destroy all the adversaries of my soul, because, I, am thy servant.
