Isaia 13
1 Povara Babilonului, pe care Isaia, fiul lui Amoţ, a văzut-o.
The oracle on Babylon, —of which Isaiah, son of Amoz had vision: —
2 Ridicaţi un steag pe muntele înalt, înălţaţi vocea către ei, scuturaţi mâna, ca ei să intre pe porţile nobililor.
Upon a bare mountain, lift ye up a standard, Raise high the voice to them, Wave the hand, That they may enter the doors of nobles.
3 Am poruncit celor sfinţiţi ai mei, am chemat de asemenea pe cei tari ai mei pentru furia mea, [adică] pe cei ce se bucură în înălţimea mea.
I myself, have given charge to my hallowed ones, —Yea I have called My heroes in showing mine anger, My proudly exulting ones.
4 Zgomotul unei mulţimi în munţi, ca al unui popor mare; un zgomot tumultuos al împărăţiilor naţiunilor adunate împreună: DOMNUL oştirilor adună armata pentru bătălie.
The noise of a multitude in the mountains, A resemblance of many people, —The noise of a tumult of kingdoms Nations gathered together, Yahweh of hosts, mustering a host for battle!
5 Ei vin dintr-o ţară îndepărtată, de la marginea cerului, DOMNUL şi armele indignării lui, pentru a nimici toată ţara.
They are coming in From a land far away. From the utmost bound of the heavens, —Yahweh—with his weapons of indignation, To destroy the land.
6 Urlaţi, căci ziua DOMNULUI este aproape; va veni ca o nimicire de la cel Atotputernic.
Howl ye! for at hand is the day of Yahweh, —As a veritable destruction from the Almighty, shall it come.
7 De aceea toate mâinile vor slăbi şi inima fiecărui om se va topi;
For this cause—All hands, shall hang down, —and Every mortal heart, melt.
8 Şi vor fi înspăimântaţi; junghiuri şi întristări îi vor apuca; vor fi în durere ca o femeie în travaliu; se vor uimi unul pe altul; feţele lor vor fi ca flăcările.
And they shall be in distress—Writhings and pains, shall lay hold, As a woman in childbirth, shall they be in pangs, —Everyone, at his neighbour, shall look in amazement, Faces of flames, their faces!
9 Iată, ziua DOMNULUI vine, crudă, deopotrivă cu furie şi mânie înverşunată, pentru a lăsa ţara pustiită, iar el îi va nimici pe păcătoşii din ea.
Lo! the day of Yahweh, coming in, Fierce and overflowing, and burning with anger, —To devote the earth to desolation, And her sinners, will he destroy out of it.
10 Fiindcă stelele cerului şi constelaţiile acestuia nu îşi vor da lumina, soarele va fi întunecat în mersul lui şi luna nu va face ca lumina ei să strălucească.
For the stars of the heavens and their constellations, shall not flash forth their light, —Obscured shall be the sun in his going forth, And the moon, shall not shed her light.
11 Şi voi pedepsi lumea pentru răul oamenilor şi pe cei stricaţi pentru nelegiuirea lor; şi voi face ca aroganţa celor mândri să înceteze şi voi doborî trufia tiranilor.
And I will visit, upon the inhabited earth, calamity!, And upon the lawless, their punishment, And will quiet the arrogance of the proud, And the loftiness of tyrants, will I lay low.
12 Voi face pe om mai preţios decât aurul fin, pe om mai preţios decât lingoul de aur din Ofir.
I will cause, a man, to be more precious than fine gold, —Even a son of earth than, the finest gold of Ophir.
13 De aceea voi scutura cerurile şi pământul se va clinti din locul său, în furia DOMNULUI oştirilor şi în ziua mâniei lui înverşunate.
For this cause, the heavens, will I disturb, And, the earth, shall tremble out of her place, —In the wrath of Yahweh of hosts, And in the day of the glow of his anger.
14 Şi va fi ca o căprioară urmărită şi ca o oaie pe care nimeni nu o ia; fiecare se va întoarce la poporul său şi va fugi fiecare în propria ţară.
And it shall be—Like a gazelle that is chased, And like a sheep with none to lift it up, —Each, to his own people, will they turn, And, each, to his own land, will they flee:
15 Fiecare ce este găsit va fi străpuns; şi fiecare ce li se alătură va cădea prin sabie.
Every one found, shall be thrust through, —And, every one taken, shall fall by the sword;
16 Copiii lor de asemenea vor fi zdrobiţi în bucăţi înaintea ochilor lor; casele lor vor fi prădate şi soţiile lor violate.
And, their infants, shall be dashed to the ground, before their eyes, —Plundered shall be, their houses, and their wives ravished.
17 Iată, voi stârni împotriva lor pe mezi, care nu vor lua aminte la argint; şi cât despre aur, nu se vor desfăta în el.
Behold me! stirring up against them the Medes, —Who of silver, shall take no account, And as for gold, they shall not delight in it;
18 Arcurile lor de asemenea vor zdrobi pe tineri în bucăţi; şi nu vor avea milă de rodul pântecelui; ochiul lor nu va cruţa copiii.
And, bows, shall dash the young to pieces, —And on the fruit of the womb, will they have no pity, Over children, will their eye throw no shield.
19 Şi Babilonul, gloria împărăţiilor, frumuseţea maiestăţii caldeilor, va fi ca atunci când Dumnezeu a dărâmat Sodoma şi Gomora.
Thus shall Babylon—The most lovely of kingdoms, The majestic beauty of the Chaldees—Become as in the divine overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah.
20 Acesta nu va fi locuit niciodată, nici nu va fi locuit din generaţie în generaţie, nici arabul nu îşi va înălţa cortul acolo; nici păstorii nu îşi vor face staul acolo.
It shall not be dwelt in for ever, Neither shall it be inhabited from generation to generation, —Neither shall encamp there, an Arab, Nor, shepherds, fold their flocks there.
21 Ci fiare sălbatice ale deşertului se vor culca acolo; şi casele lor vor fi pline de creaturi jalnice; şi bufniţe vor locui acolo şi satiri vor dansa acolo.
Then shall lie down there, wild beasts, And filled shall be their houses with owls, —Then shall inhabit there, the ostrich, And shaggy creatures, shall dance there.
22 Şi fiarele sălbatice ale insulelor vor ţipa în casele lor pustii şi dragoni în palatele lor plăcute şi timpul lui este aproape să vină şi zilele lui nu vor fi prelungite.
And jackals shall answer, in their citadels, And wild dogs, in their voluptuous palaces, —And near to come is her time, And, her days, shall not be delayed.
