1 Timóteo 2
1 Exorto, portanto, antes de tudo, que petições, orações, intercessões e agradecimentos sejam feitos para todos os homens,
I exhort then, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men;
2 para os reis e todos os que estão em lugares altos, para que possamos levar uma vida tranqüila e tranqüila em toda a piedade e reverência.
for kings, and all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all godliness and propriety.
3 Pois isto é bom e aceitável aos olhos de Deus nosso Salvador,
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,
4 que deseja que todas as pessoas sejam salvas e cheguem ao pleno conhecimento da verdade.
whose will is that all men should be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 Pois há um só Deus e um só mediador entre Deus e os homens, o homem Cristo Jesus,
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
6 que se deu a si mesmo como resgate por todos, o testemunho no momento próprio,
who gave himself a ransom for all; to which the testimony was to be borne in its own due times,
7 para o qual fui nomeado pregador e apóstolo - estou dizendo a verdade em Cristo, não mentindo - um mestre dos gentios na fé e na verdade.
whereunto I was appointed a herald and an apostle, (I speak the truth, I lie not, ) a teacher of the gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Desejo, portanto, que os homens em todos os lugares rezem, levantando mãos santas sem raiva e sem dúvidas.
I desire, then, that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
9 Da mesma forma, que as mulheres também se adornem com roupas decentes, com modéstia e propriedade, não com cabelos trançados, ouro, pérolas ou roupas caras,
In like manner also, that women, in seemly attire, adorn themselves with modesty and sobriety, not with braided hair, and gold, or pearls, or costly apparel;
10 mas com boas obras, o que é apropriado para as mulheres que professam a piedade.
but, as becometh women professing godliness, with good works.
11 Let uma mulher aprende em quietude com total submissão.
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 Mas não permito que uma mulher ensine, nem que exerça autoridade sobre um homem, mas que esteja em quietude.
But I suffer not the woman to teach, nor to have authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 Para Adão foi formado primeiro, depois Eva.
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 Adão não foi enganado, mas a mulher, sendo enganada, caiu em desobediência;
And Adam was not deceived; but the woman being deceived fell into transgression.
15 mas ela será salva através de sua gravidez, se continuar na fé, no amor e na santidade com sobriedade.
But she will be saved through child-bearing, if they continue in faith, and love, and holiness, with sobriety.
