Efésios 1
1 Eu, Paulo, apóstolo de Cristo Jesus, de acordo com a vontade de Deus, é quem escreve esta carta para os cristãos que vivem em Éfeso e fiéis em Cristo Jesus.
Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the purpose of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and those who have faith in Christ Jesus:
2 Que a graça e a paz de Deus, nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo estejam com vocês!
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Louvemos a Deus, o Pai do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que nos tem abençoado em Cristo com tudo que é espiritualmente bom do mundo celestial.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has given us every blessing of the Spirit in the heavens in Christ:
4 Antes do início deste mundo, Deus nos escolheu para estarmos unidos a ele, para que, com amor, pudéssemos nos apresentar diante dele como santos e sem falhas.
Even as he made selection of us in him from the first, so that we might be holy and free from all evil before him in love:
5 Ele decidiu antecipadamente nos adotar como seus filhos, trabalhando por meio de Jesus Cristo para nos levar para ele. Ele estava feliz ao fazer isso porque essa era a sua vontade.
As we were designed before by him for the position of sons to himself, through Jesus Christ, in the good pleasure of his purpose,
6 Então, nós o louvamos por sua gloriosa graça, que ele tão gentilmente nos deu, por meio do seu amado Filho.
To the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely gave to us in the Loved One:
7 Por meio dele, nós ganhamos a salvação pelo seu sangue, o perdão dos nossos pecados, como resultado de sua valiosa bênção,
In whom we have salvation through his blood, the forgiveness of our sins, through the wealth of his grace,
8 que ele tão generosamente nos deu, juntamente com toda a sabedoria e entendimento.
Which he gave us in full measure in all wisdom and care;
9 Deus nos revelou sua vontade até então oculta, e ele ficou feliz em prosseguir com o seu plano,
Having made clear to us the secret of his purpose, in agreement with the design which he had in mind, to put into his hands
10 mediante o qual, ele colocaria sob a autoridade de Cristo tudo o que existe no céu e na terra.
The ordering of the times when they are complete, so that all things might come to a head in Christ, the things in heaven and the things on the earth; in him, I say,
11 Nele, fomos escolhidos com antecedência, de acordo com o plano daquele que está resolvendo tudo de acordo com a sua vontade,
In whom we have a heritage, being marked out from the first in his purpose who does all things in agreement with his designs;
12 para que, assim, nós, que fomos os primeiros a ter esperança em Cristo, pudéssemos louvar a sua glória.
So that his glory might have praise through us who first had hope in Christ:
13 Nele, vocês também ouviram a palavra da verdade, o evangelho da nossa salvação. Nele, por causa da sua fé, vocês foram marcados com o selo da promessa do Espírito Santo,
In whom you, having been given the true word, the good news of your salvation, and through your faith in him, were given the sign of the Holy Spirit of hope,
14 que é a garantia da nossa herança, até a redenção daqueles que pertencem a Deus, para o seu louvor e a sua glória.
Which is the first-fruit of our heritage, till God gets back that which is his, to the praise of his glory.
15 Por isso, tendo eu ouvido falar a respeito da sua fé no Senhor Jesus e no amor que vocês têm por todos os cristãos,
For this cause I, having had news of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and which you make clear to all the saints,
16 eu sempre agradeço a Deus por vocês e também sempre os incluo em minhas orações.
Give praise without end for you, keeping you in mind in my prayers;
17 Eu oro para que o Deus do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o Pai glorioso, possa lhes dar um espírito de sabedoria, para que vejam e saibam como ele realmente é.
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;
18 Que as mentes de vocês sejam iluminadas, para que possam entender a esperança para a qual ele os chamou. E para que saibam sobre as gloriosas riquezas que ele promete como uma herança para o seu povo santo.
And that having the eyes of your heart full of light, you may have knowledge of what is the hope of his purpose, what is the wealth of the glory of his heritage in the saints,
19 Que vocês também entendam o poder extraordinário de Deus,
And how unlimited is his power to us who have faith, as is seen in the working of the strength of his power,
20 que ele demonstrou ao ressuscitar Cristo dos mortos. Deus colocou Cristo sentado a sua direita no céu,
By which he made Christ come back from the dead, and gave him a place at his right hand in heaven,
21 muito acima de qualquer outro governante, autoridade, poder ou senhor, ou qualquer líder com todos os seus títulos, não apenas neste mundo, mas, também, no mundo que está por vir. (aiōn g165)
Far over all rule and authority and power and every name which is named, not only in the present order, but in that which is to come: (aiōn g165)
22 Deus sujeitou tudo à autoridade de Cristo e lhe deu a responsabilidade, como chefe, sobre tudo o que está relacionado à igreja,
And he has put all things under his feet, and has made him to be head over all things to the church,
23 que é o corpo de Cristo, que ele preencheu e completou, aquele que preenche e completa tudo em todos os lugares.
Which is his body, the full measure of him in whom all things are made complete.
