Efésios 4
1 Rogo-vos, pois, eu, o preso do Senhor, que andeis como é digno da vocação com que sois chamados,
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, plead to you that all of you walk worthy of the vocation wherewith all of you are called,
2 Com toda a humildade e mansidão, com longanimidade, supportando-vos uns aos outros em amor,
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; (agape)
3 Procurando guardar a unidade de Espirito pelo vinculo da paz.
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit (pneuma) in the bond of peace.
4 Ha um só corpo e um só Espirito, como tambem fostes chamados em uma só esperança da vossa vocação;
There is one body, and one Spirit, (pneuma) even as all of you are called in one hope of your calling;
5 Um só Senhor, uma só fé, um só baptismo;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 Um só Deus e Pae de todos, o qual é sobre todos, e por todos e em todos.
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 Porém a graça é dada a cada um de nós segundo a medida do dom de Christo.
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Pelo que diz: Subindo ao alto, levou captivo o captiveiro, e deu dons aos homem.
Wherefore he says, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 Ora, isto, que subiu, que é, senão que tambem antes tinha descido ás partes mais baixas da terra?
(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 Aquelle que desceu é tambem o mesmo que subiu acima de todos os céus, para cumprir todas as coisas.
He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 E elle mesmo deu uns para apostolos, e outros para prophetas, e outros para evangelistas, e outros para pastores e doutores,
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 Para aperfeiçoamento dos sanctos, para obra do ministerio, para edificação do corpo de Christo;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Até que todos cheguemos á unidade da fé, e ao conhecimento do Filho de Deus, a varão perfeito, á medida da estatura completa de Christo.
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
14 Para que não sejamos mais meninos, inconstantes, levados em roda de todo o vento de doutrina, pelo engano dos homens que com astucia enganam fraudulosamente.
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed back and forth, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 Antes, seguindo a verdade em caridade, cresçamos em tudo n'aquelle que é a cabeça, Christo.
But speaking the truth in love, (agape) may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 Do qual todo o corpo, bem ajustado, e ligado pelo que todas as juntas lhe subministram, segundo a operação de cada parte na sua medida, toma augmento do corpo, para sua edificação em amor.
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (agape)
17 De sorte que digo isto, e testifico no Senhor, para que não andeis mais como andam tambem os outros gentios, na vaidade do seu sentido,
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that all of you henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Entenebrecidos no entendimento, separados da vida de Deus pela ignorancia que ha n'elles, pela dureza do seu coração:
Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Os quaes, havendo perdido todo o sentimento, se entregaram á dissolução, para com avidez commetterem toda a impureza.
Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 Mas vós não aprendestes assim a Christo,
But all of you have not so learned Christ;
21 Se é que o tendes ouvido, e n'elle fostes ensinados, como a verdade está, em Jesus;
If so be that all of you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 Que, quanto ao trato passado vos despojeis do velho homem, que se corrompe pelas concupiscencias do engano;
That all of you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 E vos renoveis no espirito do vosso sentido;
And be renewed in the spirit (pneuma) of your mind;
24 E vos vistaes do novo homem, que segundo Deus é creado em verdadeira justiça e sanctidade.
And that all of you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Pelo que deixae a mentira, e fallae a verdade cada um com o seu proximo; porque somos membros uns dos outros.
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26 Irae-vos, e não pequeis; não se ponha o sol sobre a vossa ira.
Be all of you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Não deis logar ao diabo.
Neither give place to the devil.
28 Aquelle que furtava, não furte mais; antes trabalhe, obrando com suas mãos o que é bom, para que tenha que repartir com o que tiver necessidade.
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.
29 Não saia da vossa bocca nenhuma palavra torpe, mas só a que fôr boa para utilidade da edificação, para que dê graça aos que a ouvem.
Let no corrupt communication (logos) proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
30 E não entristeçaes o Espirito Sancto de Deus, no qual estaes sellados para o dia da redempção.
And grieve not the holy Spirit (pneuma) of God, whereby all of you are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Toda a amargura, e ira, e colera, e gritaria, e blasphemias e toda a malicia seja tirada de entre vós.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 Antes sêde uns para com os outros benignos, misericordiosos, perdoando-vos uns aos outros, como tambem Deus vos perdoou em Christo.
And be all of you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.
