Dzieje 9
1 A Saul, dysząc jeszcze groźbą i [chęcią] mordu wobec uczniów Pana, poszedł do najwyższego kapłana;
Meanwhile Saul, still exhaling murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
2 I prosił go o listy do synagog w Damaszku, aby [mógł], jeśliby znalazł tam zwolenników tej drogi, zarówno mężczyzn, jak i kobiety, przyprowadzić ich związanych do Jerozolimy.
and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he should find any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
3 A gdy jadąc, zbliżał się do Damaszku, nagle olśniła go światłość z nieba.
So it happened, as he was going, that he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him;
4 Upadł na ziemię i usłyszał głos, który mówił do niego: Saulu, Saulu, dlaczego mnie prześladujesz?
and falling to the ground he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”
5 Wtedy zapytał: Kim jesteś, Panie? A Pan odpowiedział: Ja jestem Jezus, którego ty prześladujesz. Trudno ci wierzgać przeciw ościeniowi.
So he said, “Who are you, Lord?” So the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting;
6 A [Saul], drżąc i bojąc się, powiedział: Panie, co chcesz, abym zrobił? A Pan do niego: Wstań i idź do miasta, a [tam ci] powiedzą, co masz robić.
but get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 A mężczyźni, którzy byli z nim w drodze, stanęli oniemiali. Słyszeli bowiem głos, lecz nikogo nie widzieli.
The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the sound but seeing no one.
8 I podniósł się Saul z ziemi, a gdy otworzył oczy, nikogo nie [mógł] widzieć. Wtedy wzięli go za rękę i zaprowadzili do Damaszku.
Then Saul got up from the ground, and upon opening his eyes he saw no one; so leading him by the hand they brought him into Damascus.
9 Trzy dni [nic] nie widział i nie jadł ani nie pił.
He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank.
10 A w Damaszku był pewien uczeń, imieniem Ananiasz. I powiedział do niego Pan w widzeniu: Ananiaszu! A on odpowiedział: Oto ja, Panie.
Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!” So he said, “Here I am, Lord.”
11 A Pan [powiedział] do niego: Wstań i idź na ulicę, którą nazywają Prostą, i zapytaj w domu Judy o Saula z Tarsu, oto bowiem się modli.
So the Lord said to him: “Get up and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas inquire by name for Saul of Tarsus; because, you see, he is praying,
12 I ujrzał w widzeniu człowieka imieniem Ananiasz, wchodzącego i kładącego na nim rękę, aby odzyskał wzrok.
and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and placing a hand on him, so that he might recover his sight.”
13 Ananiasz zaś odpowiedział: Panie, słyszałem od wielu, ile złego wyrządził ten człowiek twoim świętym w Jerozolimie.
But Ananias answered: “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how many evil things he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.
14 Tutaj także ma władzę od najwyższych kapłanów uwięzić wszystkich, którzy wzywają twego imienia.
Moreover here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who are calling on Your name.”
15 Lecz Pan powiedział do niego: Idź, bo on jest moim wybranym naczyniem, aby zanieść moje imię do pogan, królów i synów Izraela.
But the Lord said to him: “Get moving, because this man is a chosen vessel to me, to carry my name before nations and kings, also the children of Israel;
16 Ja bowiem pokażę mu, jak wiele musi wycierpieć dla mego imienia.
for I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake.”
17 Wtedy Ananiasz poszedł, wszedł do domu, położył na nim ręce i powiedział: Saulu, bracie, Pan mnie posłał – Jezus, który ci się ukazał w drodze, którą jechałeś – żebyś odzyskał wzrok i został napełniony Duchem Świętym.
So Ananias went and entered the house, and placing his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me so that you may recover your sight and be filled by Holy Spirit.”
18 I natychmiast spadły z jego oczu jakby łuski, i zaraz przejrzał, wstał i został ochrzczony.
Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he recovered his sight forthwith; and getting up he was baptized,
19 A gdy zjadł, odzyskał siły. I Saul przebywał przez kilka dni z uczniami, którzy byli w Damaszku.
and upon receiving food he was strengthened. So Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for a number of days.
20 I zaraz w synagogach zaczął głosić Chrystusa, że on jest Synem Bożym.
Immediately he started proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues, that He is the Son of the God.
21 A wszyscy, którzy go słuchali, ze zdziwieniem pytali: Czy to nie jest ten, który w Jerozolimie tępił tych, którzy wzywali tego imienia, i przybył tu po to, aby ich związać i zaprowadzić do naczelnych kapłanów?
Well, all who heard him were astounded and started saying: “Isn't this the one who tried to destroy, in Jerusalem, those who called on this name? Even here he had come with that purpose, that he might take them bound to the high priests.”
22 A Saul coraz bardziej się wzmacniał i wprawiał w zakłopotanie Żydów, którzy mieszkali w Damaszku, dowodząc, że ten jest Chrystusem.
But Saul kept growing stronger and kept on confounding the Jews who lived in Damascus, proving that ‘This One is the Christ.’
23 A po upływie wielu dni Żydzi postanowili go zabić.
Now when a good many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him;
24 Saul jednak dowiedział się o ich zasadzce. A strzegli bram we dnie i w nocy, aby go zabić.
but their plot became known to Saul. They started watching the gates day and night, so that they might kill him;
25 Lecz uczniowie zabrali go w nocy i spuścili w koszu po sznurze przez mur.
so the disciples took him by night and passed him through the wall, lowering him in a hamper.
26 A gdy Saul przybył do Jerozolimy, usiłował przyłączyć się do uczniów, ale wszyscy się go bali, nie wierząc, że jest uczniem.
Now upon arriving in Jerusalem Saul kept trying to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
27 Lecz Barnaba przyjął go, zaprowadził do apostołów i opowiedział im, jak [on] w drodze ujrzał Pana, który mówił do niego, i jak w Damaszku z odwagą głosił w imieniu Jezusa.
But Barnabas took him in tow and brought him to the apostles, and described to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken fearlessly in the name of the Lord Jesus.
28 I przebywał z nimi w Jerozolimie.
So he was with them in Jerusalem, going in and out, and speaking fearlessly in the name of Jesus.
29 Z odwagą też mówił w imieniu Pana Jezusa i rozprawiał z hellenistami, a oni usiłowali go zabić.
He kept on speaking and debating with the Hellenists, so they started trying to kill him.
30 Bracia jednak dowiedzieli się o tym, wyprawili go do Cezarei i odesłali do Tarsu.
Upon finding it out, the brothers brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
31 A tak kościoły w całej Judei, Galilei i Samarii cieszyły się pokojem, budując się i żyjąc w bojaźni Pańskiej, i rozrastały się przez pociechę Ducha Świętego.
So then the congregations throughout all Judea and Galilee, and Samaria, had peace and were built up; and proceeding in the fear of the Lord and in the enabling of the Holy Spirit they were being multiplied.
32 I stało się, gdy Piotr odwiedzał wszystkich, że przyszedł też do świętych, którzy mieszkali w Liddzie.
Now it happened, as Peter went through all those parts, that he also went down to the saints who were living in Lydda.
33 Spotkał tam pewnego człowieka imieniem Eneasz, który był sparaliżowany i od ośmiu lat leżał w łóżku.
And there he found a certain man named Aeneas who was paralyzed—he had been lying on a pallet for eight years.
34 I powiedział mu Piotr: Eneaszu, Jezus Chrystus cię uzdrawia. Wstań i zaściel swoje [łóżko]. I natychmiast wstał.
Peter said to him: “Aeneas, Jesus the Messiah is healing you. Get up and make your bed!” And immediately he stood up!
35 A wszyscy mieszkańcy Liddy i Saronu widzieli go i nawrócili się do Pana.
All who were living in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.
36 Mieszkała też w Jafie pewna uczennica o imieniu Tabita, co znaczy Dorkas. Jej [życie] wypełnione było dobrymi uczynkami i udzielaniem jałmużny.
Now there was a certain disciple in Joppa named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds that she kept doing.
37 I stało się w tych dniach, że zachorowała i umarła. Obmyto ją i położono w sali na piętrze.
But it happened in those days that she took sick and died; so when they had washed her they placed her in the upper room.
38 A ponieważ Lidda leży blisko Jafy, gdy uczniowie usłyszeli, że jest tam Piotr, posłali do niego dwóch ludzi, prosząc, aby nie zwlekał z przyjściem do nich.
Now Lydda was near Joppa; the disciples, having heard that Peter was there, sent to him imploring him not to delay in coming to them.
39 Wtedy Piotr wstał i poszedł z nimi, a gdy przyszedł, wprowadzili go do sali na piętrze. Obstąpiły go wszystkie wdowy, płacząc i pokazując tuniki i płaszcze, które Dorkas im robiła, gdy była z nimi.
So Peter got up and went with them; upon arriving they took him up to the upper room; all the widows stood around him weeping and showing the coats and garments that Dorcas was making while she was with them.
40 A Piotr wygonił wszystkich, klęknął i modlił się. Potem zwrócił się do zmarłej i powiedział: Tabito, wstań! A ona otworzyła oczy i zobaczywszy Piotra, usiadła.
So Peter put them all out, kneeled down and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, get up!” So she opened her eyes, and upon seeing Peter she sat up.
41 [On] podał jej rękę i podniósł ją, a zawoławszy świętych i wdowy, pokazał ją żywą.
Then he gave her a hand and lifted her up, and calling the saints and widows he presented her alive.
42 I rozniosło się to po całej Jafie, i wielu uwierzyło w Pana.
And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.
43 Piotr zaś został przez wiele dni w Jafie u niejakiego Szymona, garbarza.
So it was that he stayed many days in Joppa with a certain Simon, a tanner.
