Psalmów 73
1 Psalm Asafowy. Zaisteć dobry jest Bóg Izraelowi, tym, którzy są czystego serca.
Surely God is good to Israel, to such as are pure in heart.
2 Ale nogi moje mało się były nie potknęły, a blisko tego było, że mało nie szwankowały kroki moje,
But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had well nigh slipped.
3 Gdym był zawiścią poruszon przeciwko szalonym, widząc szczęście niepobożnych.
For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Bo nie mają związków aż do śmierci, ale w całości zostaje siła ich.
For there are no pangs in their death, but their strength is firm.
5 W pracy ludzkiej nie są, a kaźni, jako inni ludzie, nie doznawają.
They are not in trouble as other men, nor are they plagued like other men.
6 Przetoż otoczeni są pychą, jako łańcuchem złotym, a przyodziani okrutnością, jako szatą ozdobną.
Therefore pride is as a chain around their neck. Violence covers them as a garment.
7 Wystąpiły od tłustości oczy ich, a więcej mają nad pomyślenie serca.
Their eyes stand out with fatness. They have more than heart could wish.
8 Rozpuścili się, i mówią złośliwie, o uciśnieniu bardzo hardzie mówią.
They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression. They speak loftily.
9 Wystawiają przeciwko niebu usta swe, a język ich krąży po ziemi.
They have set their mouth in the heavens, and their tongue walks through the earth.
10 A przetoż na to przychodzi lud jego, gdy się im wody już wierzchem leją,
Therefore his people return here, and waters of a full cup are drained by them.
11 Że mówią: Jakoż ma Bóg o tem wiedzieć? albo mali o tem wiadomość Najwyższy?
And they say, How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?
12 Albowiem, oto ci niezbożnymi będąc, mają pokój na świecie, i nabywają bogactw.
Behold, these are the wicked, and those who always prosper. They have possessed wealth.
13 Próżno tedy w czystości chowam ręce moje, a w niewinności serce moje omywam.
Surely in vain I have cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocence,
14 Ponieważ mię cały dzień biją, a karanie cierpię na każdy poranek.
for all the day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.
15 Rzekęli: Będę też tak o tem mówił, tedy rodzaj synów twoich rzecze, żem im niepraw.
If I had said, I will speak thus, behold, I would have dealt treacherously with the generation of thy sons.
16 Chciałemci tego rozumem doścignąć, ale mi się tu trudno zdało;
When I thought how I might understand this, it was too painful for me,
17 Ażem wszedł do świątnicy Bożej, a tum porozumiał dokończenie ich.
until I went into the sanctuary of God, and considered their latter end.
18 Zprawdęś ich na miejscach śliskich postawił, a podajesz ich na spustoszenie.
Surely thou set them in slippery places. Thou cast them down to destruction.
19 Oto jakoć przychodzą na spustoszenie! niemal w okamgnieniu niszczeją i giną od strachu.
How they have become a desolation in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors.
20 Są jako sen temu, co ocucił; Panie! gdy ich obudzisz obraz ich lekce poważysz.
As a dream from awakening, O Lord, when thou waken, thou will despise their form.
21 Gdy zgorzkło serce moje, a nerki moje cierpiały kłucie:
For my soul was grieved, and I was pricked in my heart.
22 Zgłupiałem był, a nicem nie rozumiał, byłem przed tobą jako bydlę.
So I was brutish, and ignorant. I was a beast before thee.
23 A wszakże zawżdy byłem z tobą; boś mię trzymał za prawą rękę moję.
Nevertheless I am continually with thee. Thou have held my right hand.
24 Według rady swej prowadź mię, a potem do chwały przyjmiesz mię.
Thou will guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Kogożbym innego miał na niebie? I na ziemi oprócz ciebie w nikim innym upodobania nie mam.
Whom have I in heaven? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides thee.
26 Choć ciało moje, i serce moje ustanie, jednak Bóg jest skałą serca mego, i działem moim na wieki.
My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 Gdyż oto ci, którzy się oddalają od ciebie, zginą; wytracasz tych, którzy cudzołożą odstępowaniem od ciebie.
For, lo, those who are far from thee shall perish. Thou have destroyed all those who go a whoring from thee.
28 Aleć mnie najlepsza jest trzymać się Boga; przetoż pokładam w Panu panującym nadzieję moję, abym opowiadał wszystkie sprawy jego.
But it is good for me to draw near to God. I have made the lord Jehovah my refuge, that I may tell of all thy works.
