Faarfannaa 91
1 Namni daʼoo Waaqa Waan Hundaa Olii keessa jiraatu, gaaddisa Waaqa Waan Hunda Dandaʼu sanaa jala boqota.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, Under the shadow of the Almighty, will tarry,
2 Anis Waaqayyoon, “Inni iddoo ani itti kooluu galuu fi daʼannoo koo ti; Waaqa koo kan ani amanadhuu dha” nan jedha.
Saying of Yahweh—My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I will trust.
3 Inni dhugumaan kiyyoo adamsaa jalaa, dhukkuba nama fixu jalaas si baasa.
For, he, will rescue thee, From the snare of the fowler, From the destructive pestilence.
4 Inni baallee isaatiin si dhoksa; atis qoochoo isaa jalatti kooluu ni galta; amanamummaan isaa gaachanaa fi dallaa eegumsaa siif taʼa.
With his pinion, will he cover thee, And, under his wings, shalt thou seek refuge, A shield and buckler, is his faithfulness.
5 Atis naasuu halkanii, yookaan xiyya guyyaan futtaafamu hin sodaattu;
Thou shalt not be afraid, Of the dread of the night, Of the arrow that flieth by day;
6 golfaa dukkana keessa deemu, yookaan dhaʼicha guyyaa saafaan nama balleessu hin sodaannu.
Of the pestilence that, in darkness, doth walk, Of the plague that layeth waste at noonday.
7 Kumni tokko si cinatti, kumni kudhan immoo mirga keetti ni kufa; garuu sitti hin dhiʼaatu.
There shall fall, at thy side, a thousand, Yea, myriads, at thy right hand, Unto thee, shall it not come nigh;
8 Ati ijuma kee qofaan ilaalta; adaba hamootatti dhufus ni argita.
Save only, with thine own eyes, shalt thou discern, And, the recompense of the lawless, shalt thou see.
9 Ati waan Waaqayyoon iddoo kooluu itti galtu, Waaqa Waan Hundaa Olii iddoo jireenya keetii godhatteef,
Because, thou, [hast made] Yahweh, my refuge, —The Most High, thou hast made thy dwelling-place,
10 wanni hamaan si hin tuqu; dhaʼichis dunkaana keetti hin dhiʼaatu.
There shall not be sent unto thee misfortune, Nor shall, plague, come near into thy tent;
11 Inni akka isaan karaa kee hunda irratti si eeganiif, ergamoota isaa siif ni ajaja;
For, his messengers, will he charge concerning thee, To keep thee, in all thy ways;
12 isaanis akka miilla keetiin dhagaatti hin buuneef harka isaaniitiin ol si fuudhu.
On hands, will they bear thee up, Lest thou strike, against a stone, thy foot;
13 Ati leencaa fi buutii irra ejjetta; leenca saafelaa fi jawwee ni dhidhiitta.
On the lion and adder, shalt thou tread, Shalt trample on young lion and crocodile.
14 Waaqayyos akkana jedha; “Sababii inni na jaallatuuf, ani isa nan oolcha; waan inni maqaa koo beekuuf isa nan eega.
Because, on me, he hath set firm his love, Therefore will I deliver him, I will set him on high, Because he hath known my Name;
15 Inni na waammata; anis nan deebisaaf; rakkina keessatti ani isa wajjin nan taʼa; isa nan oolcha; ulfinas nan kennaaf.
He shall call me, and I will answer him, With him, will, I, be, in distress, I will rescue him, and will honour him;
16 Ani umurii dheeraa isa nan quufsa; fayyisuu koos isatti argisiisa.”
With length of days, will I satisfy him, And will show him my salvation.
