Faarfannaa 147
1 Haalleluuyaa. Faarfannaadhaan Waaqa galateeffachuun akkam gaarii dha; isa galateeffachuun akkam gammachiisaa fi kan maluu dha!
Hallelujah; for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is comely; [him] becometh praise.
2 Waaqayyo Yerusaalemin ni ijaara; Israaʼeloota boojiʼamanis walitti qaba.
The Lord buildeth up Jerusalem: the outcasts of Israel will he gather together;
3 Warra garaan cabe ni fayyisa; madaa isaaniis walitti hodha.
He that healeth the broken-hearted, and bindeth up their hurts;
4 Inni baayʼina urjiiwwanii ni beeka; tokkoo tokkoo isaaniis maqaa maqaadhaan waama.
Who counteth the number of the stars; who calleth them all by [their] names.
5 Gooftaan keenya guddaa dha; humni isaas jabaa dha; hubannaan isaas dhuma hin qabu.
Great is our Lord, and abundant in power: his understanding is immeasurable.
6 Waaqayyo warra gad qabaman ni jiraachisa; hamoota garuu lafatti darbata.
The Lord helpeth up the meek: he bringeth down the wicked to the ground.
7 Galata galchaa Waaqayyoon faarfadhaa; baganaadhaanis Waaqa keenyaaf weeddisaa.
Lift up a song unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises unto our God with the harp;
8 Inni samiiwwani duumessaan haguuga; lafaafis bokkaa kenna; tulluuwwan irrattis marga biqilcha.
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who causeth grass to grow upon the mountains;
9 Horiidhaaf waan isaan dheedan, yommuu ilmaan arraagessaa iyyanitti nyaata isaaniif ni kenna.
Who giveth to the beast its food, to the young ravens which cry.
10 Inni jabina fardaatti hin gammadu; yookaan miilli namaa isa hin gammachiisu;
Not in the strength of the horse hath he delight: nor in the [swiftness of the] legs of man taketh he pleasure.
11 Waaqayyo warra isa sodaatanitti, warra araara isaa abdatanitti ni gammada.
The Lord taketh pleasure in those that fear him, that wait for his kindness.
12 Yaa Yerusaalem, Waaqayyoon galateeffadhu; Yaa Xiyoon Waaqa kee galateeffadhu.
Glorify, O Jerusalem, the Lord: praise thy God, O Zion.
13 Inni danqaraa karra keetii ni jabeessaatii; ijoollee kees si keessatti eebbisa.
For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children in the midst of thee;
14 Daarii keetiif nagaa kenna; qamadii qulqulluudhaanis si quubsa.
He who bestoweth peace in thy borders, who satisfieth thee with the best of wheat;
15 Inni ajaja isaa gara lafaatti ni erga; dubbiin isaas ni ariifata.
He who sendeth forth his decree unto the earth: how swiftly speedeth his word along!
16 Inni cabbii akkuma suufiitti diriirsa; qorras akkuma daaraatti bittinneessa.
He who dispenseth snow like wool; who streweth about the hoarfrost like ashes;
17 Dhagaa cabbii akkuma cirrachaa gad darbata. Dhaamocha isaa dura eenyutu dhaabachuu dandaʼa?
He who casteth down his ice like pieces: before his cold who can stand?
18 Inni dubbii isaa ergee isaan baqsa; bubbee isaa ni kaasa; bishaanonnis ni yaaʼu.
He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and waters run along.
19 Inni dubbii isaa Yaaqoobitti, seeraa fi sirna isaa immoo Israaʼelitti mulʼiseera.
He declareth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances unto Israel.
20 Waan kana saba biraa tokkoof iyyuu hin goone; isaan seera isaa hin beekan. Haalleluuyaa.
He hath not done so unto any nation: and [his] ordinances— these they know not. Hallelujah.
