1 Nuuf miti; yaa Waaqayyo, nuuf miti; garuu jaalalaa fi amanamummaa keetiif jedhiitii maqaa keetiif ulfina kenni.

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

2 Saboonni maaliif, “Waaqni isaanii eessa jira?” jedhu?

Wherefore should the nations say, Where is now their God?

3 Waaqni keenya samii keessa jira; inni waan isa gammachiisu kam iyyuu ni hojjeta.

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he pleased.

4 Waaqonni isaanii tolfamoon garuu meetii fi warqee harka namaatiin hojjetamanii dha.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

5 Isaan afaan qabu; garuu dubbachuu hin dandaʼan; ijas qabu; garuu arguu hin dandaʼan;

They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;

6 gurra qabu; garuu dhagaʼuu hin dandaʼan; funyaan qabu; garuu fuunfachuu hin dandaʼan;

They have ears, but they hear not; noses have they, but they smell not;

7 harka qabu; garuu qaqqabachuu hin dandaʼan; miilla qabu; garuu deemuu hin dandaʼan; laagaa isaanii keessattis sagalee tokko illee hin uuman.

They have hands, but they handle not; feet have they, but they walk not; neither speak they through their throat.

8 Warri isaan tolchan kanneen isaan amanatan hundi akkuma isaanii taʼu.

They that make them shall be like unto them; yea, every one that trusteth in them.

9 Yaa mana Israaʼel, Waaqayyoon amanadhu; inni gargaarsaa fi gaachana isaanii ti.

O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

10 Yaa mana Aroon, Waaqayyoon amanadhu; inni gargaarsaa fi gaachana isaanii ti.

O house of Aaron, trust ye in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

11 Isin warri isa sodaattan, Waaqayyoon amanadhaa; inni gargaarsaa fi gaachana isaanii ti.

Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

12 Waaqayyo nu yaadata; nu eebbisas; inni mana Israaʼel ni eebbisa; mana Aroonis ni eebbisa;

The LORD hath been mindful of us; he will bless [us]: he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

13 inni warra Waaqayyoon sodaatan, xinnaas guddaas ni eebbisa.

He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.

14 Waaqayyo, isinii fi ijoollee keessan haa baayʼisu.

The LORD increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Waaqayyo samii fi lafa Uume sun isin haa eebbisu.

Blessed are ye of the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

16 Samiin samiiwwanii oliis kan Waaqayyoo ti; lafa garuu inni namaaf kenneera.

The heavens are the heavens of the LORD; but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

17 Warri duʼan yookaan warri gara iddoo calʼisanitti gad buʼan Waaqayyoon galateeffachuu hin dandaʼan;

The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence;

18 nu garuu ammaa jalqabnee bara baraan Waaqayyoon ni eebbifna. Haalleluuyaa.

But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise ye the LORD.
