< Iyyoob 29 >
1 Iyyoob haasaa isaa itti fufee akkana jedhe:
Job again took up his parable, and said,
2 “Ani jiʼoota darban, bara Waaqni na eege sana akkamin hawwa ture,
“Oh that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me;
3 yeroo ibsaan isaa mataa koo irratti ife, anis ifa isaatiin dukkana keessa darbee yeroon deeme,
when his lamp shone on my head, and by his light I walked through darkness,
4 yeroo ani nama jabaa ture, yeroo michummaan Waaqaa mana koo eebbise,
as I was in my prime, when the friendship of God was in my tent,
5 yeroo Waaqni Waan Hunda Dandaʼu na wajjin ture, yeroo ijoolleen koo naannoo koo turan,
when the Almighty was yet with me, and my children were around me,
6 yeroo daandiin koo dhadhaadhaan jiifame, yeroo kattaanis laga zayitii ejersaa naaf yaase.
when my steps were washed with butter, and the rock poured out streams of oil for me,
7 “Yeroo ani gara karra magaalaatti gad baʼee oobdii sabaa keessa barcuma koo irra taaʼe,
when I went out to the city gate, when I prepared my seat in the street.
8 dargaggeeyyiin na arganii karaa irraa goru; maanguddoonnis kaʼanii dhaabatu ture;
The young men saw me and hid themselves. The aged rose up and stood.
9 hangafoonni sabaa dubbii afaanitti qabatanii harka isaanii afaan irra kaaʼatu ture;
The princes refrained from talking, and laid their hand on their mouth.
10 sagaleen namoota bebeekamoo hin dhagaʼamu ture; arrabni isaaniis laagaa isaaniitti ni maxxana ture.
The voice of the nobles was hushed, and their tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth.
11 Namni na dhagaʼu kam iyyuu na jaja; kanneen na arganis na galateeffatu ture;
For when the ear heard me, then it blessed me, and when the eye saw me, it commended me,
12 ani hiyyeessa gargaarsa barbaachaaf booʼu, nama abbaa hin qabne kan namni isa gargaaru tokko iyyuu hin jirre fureeraatii.
because I delivered the poor who cried, and the fatherless also, who had no one to help him,
13 Namni duʼuu gaʼe na eebbiseera; ani akka garaan haadha hiyyeessaa gammachuun ililchus godheera.
the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.
14 Qajeelummaa akka uffata kootti uffadheera; murtiin qajeelaan immoo uffata koo fi marata mataa koo ture.
I put on righteousness, and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem.
15 Ani nama jaameef ija, okkolaaf immoo miilla taʼeen ture.
I was eyes to the blind, and feet to the lame.
16 Ani rakkataadhaaf abbaan ture; nama ormaatiif illee nan falman ture.
I was a father to the needy. I researched the cause of him whom I didn’t know.
17 Qarriffaa nama hamaa nan cabse; waan inni qabates afaan isaatii buuseera.
I broke the jaws of the unrighteous and plucked the prey out of his teeth.
18 “Ani akkana jedheen yaadee ture; ‘Manuma koo keessattin duʼa; barri jireenya kootiis akkuma cirrachaa baayʼata.
Then I said, ‘I will die in my own house, I will count my days as the sand.
19 Hiddi koo gad fagaatee bishaan qaqqaba; fixeensis halkan guutuu dameewwan koo irra bula.
My root is spread out to the waters. The dew lies all night on my branch.
20 Ulfinni koo na keessatti haaraa taʼee jiraata; iddaanis harka koo keessatti haaromfama.’
My glory is fresh in me. My bow is renewed in my hand.’
21 “Namoonni calʼisanii gorsa koo eeggachaa abdiidhaan na dhaggeeffatu.
“Men listened to me, waited, and kept silence for my counsel.
22 Erga ani dubbadhee booddee isaan deebiʼanii hin dubbanne; dubbiin koos akka gaariitti gurra isaanii seena ture.
After my words they didn’t speak again. My speech fell on them.
23 Isaan akkuma nama bokkaa eeggatuutti na eeggatan; dubbii koos akkuma bokkaa arfaasaa dhugan.
They waited for me as for the rain. Their mouths drank as with the spring rain.
24 Yeroo ani isaaniif seequtti isaan hin amanne; ifni fuula koos isaaniif waan guddaa ture.
I smiled on them when they had no confidence. They didn’t reject the light of my face.
25 Ani karaa isaaniif filee akka hangafa isaaniitti nan taaʼe; akka mootii loltoota isaa gidduu jiraatuutti nan jiraadhe; ani akka nama warra booʼan jajjabeessuus taʼe.
I chose out their way, and sat as chief. I lived as a king in the army, as one who comforts the mourners.
