< Iyyoob 11 >
1 Zoofaari Naaʼimaatichi akkana jedhee deebise:
Then Zophar, the Naamathite, answered,
2 “Dubbiiwwan kunneen hundi deebii argachuu hin qabanii? Dubbii baayʼisuun qajeelaa nama godhaa?
“Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered? Should a man full of talk be justified?
3 Of jajuun kee afaan nama qabachiisaa? Yommuu ati qoostu namni si ifatu hin jiruu?
Should your boastings make men hold their peace? When you mock, will no man make you ashamed?
4 Ati Waaqaan, ‘Barsiisni koo qulqulluu dha; ani fuula kee duratti hirʼina hin qabu’ jetta.
For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure. I am clean in your eyes.’
5 Maaloo utuu Waaqni sitti dubbatee, utuu afaan isaas sitti saaqqatee
But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against you,
6 icciitii ogummaa siif ibsee ani akkamin hawwa! Ogummaan dhugaan bifa lama qabaatii. Kanaafuu Waaqni cubbuu kee muraasa akka siif irraanfate beeki.
that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.
7 “Icciitii Waaqaa qorattee bira gaʼuu yookaan yaada Waaqa Waan Hunda Dandaʼuu qorattee bira gaʼuu dandeessaa?
“Can you fathom the mystery of God? Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
8 Isaan samiiwwan caalaa ol fagaatu; ati maal gochuu dandeessa? Qilee awwaalaa caalaas gad fagaatu; ati maal beekuu dandeessa? (Sheol )
They are high as heaven. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol. What can you know? (Sheol )
9 Safarri isaa lafa caalaa dheerata; galaana caalaa balʼata.
Its measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
10 “Yoo inni dhufee mana hidhaatti si galche, yoo waldaa murtiis walitti qabe eenyutu isa dhowwuu dandaʼa?
If he passes by, or confines, or convenes a court, then who can oppose him?
11 Dhugumaan inni sobdoota ni beeka; inni yommuu jalʼina argutti hin qalbeeffatuu?
For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.
12 Yoo harreen diidaa nama taʼee dhalate malee gowwaan ogeessa taʼuu hin dandaʼu.
An empty-headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.
13 “Taʼus yoo ati yaada kee gara isaatti deebiftee harka kees gara isaatti diriirsite,
“If you set your heart aright, stretch out your hands toward him.
14 cubbuu harka kee keessa jiru yoo of irraa fageessite, akka wanni hamaanis dunkaana kee keessa hin jiraanne yoo goote,
If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away. Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.
15 ati qaanii tokko malee fuula kee ol qabachuu dandeessa; sodaa tokko malees jabaattee dhaabatta.
Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast, and will not fear,
16 Ati dhugumaan rakkina kee ni irraanfatta; akkuma lolaa darbeettis ni lakkoofta.
for you will forget your misery. You will remember it like waters that have passed away.
17 Jireenyi kee aduu saafaa caalaa ifa; dukkanni isaas akkuma barii ganamaa taʼa.
Life will be clearer than the noonday. Though there is darkness, it will be as the morning.
18 Waan abdiin jiruuf ati hin sodaattu; naannoo kee ni ilaalta; nagaadhaanis ni boqotta.
You will be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you will search, and will take your rest in safety.
19 Ati ni rafta; namni tokko iyyuu si hin sodaachisu; namoonni baayʼeenis fuula kee barbaadu.
Also you will lie down, and no one will make you afraid. Yes, many will court your favor.
20 Iji hamootaa ni dadhaba; karaan ittiin baqatanis isaan jalaa bada; abdiin isaaniis duʼa qofa.”
But the eyes of the wicked will fail. They will have no way to flee. Their hope will be the giving up of the spirit.”
