ଆୟୁବ 8
1 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶୂହୀୟ ବିଲ୍ଦଦ୍ ଉତ୍ତର କରି କହିଲା,
Then responded Bildad the Shuhite, and said: —
2 “ତୁମ୍ଭେ କେତେ କାଳ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା କହିବ? ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମୁଖର ବାକ୍ୟ କେତେ କାଳ ପ୍ରବଳ ବାୟୁ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ହେବ?
How long wilt thou speak these things? Or, as a mighty wind, shall be the sayings of thy mouth?
3 ପରମେଶ୍ୱର କʼଣ ବିଚାର ବିପରୀତ କରନ୍ତି? ଅଥବା ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ କʼଣ ନ୍ୟାୟ ବିପରୀତ କରନ୍ତି?
Should, GOD, pervert justice? Or, the Almighty, pervert righteousness?
4 ଯେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ତାହାଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପାପ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧର୍ମର ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି;
Though, thy children, sinned against him, and he delivered them into the hand of their transgression,
5 ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯତ୍ନପୂର୍ବକ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କର ଅନ୍ଵେଷଣ କର; ଓ ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଆପଣା ନିବେଦନ ଜଣାନ୍ତ;
Yet, if, thou thyself, wilt diligently seek unto GOD, —and, unto the Almighty, wilt make supplication;
6 ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ନିର୍ମଳ ଓ ସରଳ ଥାʼନ୍ତ, ତେବେ ସେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଏକ୍ଷଣେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପକ୍ଷରେ ଜାଗ୍ରତ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଧର୍ମନିବାସକୁ ସମୃଦ୍ଧିଶାଳୀ କରନ୍ତେ।
If, pure and upright, thou thyself, art, surely, now, will he answer thy prayer, and will prosper thy righteous habitation:
7 ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭର ପ୍ରଥମାବସ୍ଥା କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର ହେଲେ ହେଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଶେଷାବସ୍ଥା ଅତିଶୟ ଉନ୍ନତ ହୁଅନ୍ତା।
So shall thy beginning appear small, —when, thy latter end, he shall greatly increase!
8 କାରଣ ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ପୂର୍ବକାଳୀନ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ପଚାର ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପିତୃଗଣ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରି ଯାହା ପାଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ତହିଁରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କର;
For inquire, I pray thee, of a former generation, and prepare thyself for the research of their fathers; —
9 କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତ କାଲିର ଲୋକ ଓ କିଛି ଜାଣୁ ନାହୁଁ, ଯେଣୁ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଦିନ ଛାୟା ସ୍ୱରୂପ;
For, of yesterday, are, we, and cannot know, for, a shadow, are our days upon earth:
10 ସେମାନେ କʼଣ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେବେ ନାହିଁ ଓ ଜଣାଇବେ ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣରୁ କʼଣ ବାକ୍ୟ ଉଚ୍ଚାରଣ କରିବେ ନାହିଁ?
Shall, they, not teach thee—tell thee, and, out of their memory, bring forth words?
11 ପଙ୍କ ବିନା କʼଣ ନଳ ବଢ଼ିପାରେ? ଜଳ ବିନା କʼଣ ସନ୍ତରା ବଢ଼ିପାରେ?
Can the paper-reed grow up, without a marsh? Or the rush grow up, without water?
12 ତାହା ସତେଜ ଥାଉ ଥାଉ ଓ କଟା ନୋହୁଣୁ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ତୃଣ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଶୁଷ୍କ ହୁଏ।
Though while still, in its freshness, it be not plucked off, yet, before any kind of grass, it doth wither:
13 ଯେଉଁମାନେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କୁ ପାସୋରନ୍ତି, ସେସମସ୍ତଙ୍କର ପଥ ଏହି ପ୍ରକାର ଓ ଧର୍ମହୀନ ଲୋକର ଭରସା ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବ,
So, shall be the latter end of all who forget GOD, and, the hope of the impious, shall perish:
14 ତାହାର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାଶା ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେବ, ଯେଣୁ ତାହାର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ମାକଡ଼ସାର ଜାଲ ସ୍ୱରୂପ।
Whose trust shall be contemptible, —and, a spider’s web, his confidence:
15 ସେ ଆପଣା ଗୃହ ଉପରେ ଆଉଜିବ, ମାତ୍ର ତାହା ସ୍ଥିର ରହିବ ନାହିଁ; ସେ ତାହା ଦୃଢ଼ କରି ଅବଲମ୍ବନ କରିବ, ମାତ୍ର ତାହା ରହିବ ନାହିଁ।
He leaneth upon his house, and it will not stand, he holdeth it fast, and it will not remain erect.
16 ସେ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସାକ୍ଷାତରେ ସତେଜ ହୁଏ, ତାହାର କୋମଳ ଶାଖା ତାହାର ଉଦ୍ୟାନରେ ମାଡ଼ିଯାଏ।
Full of moisture he is, before the sun, and, over his garden, his shoot goeth forth:
17 ତାହାର ଚେର ପ୍ରସ୍ତରରାଶିରେ ଜଡ଼ିତ ହୁଏ, ସେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରର ସ୍ଥଳ ଦେଖେ।
Over a heap, his roots are entwined, a place of stones, he descrieth;
18 ଯଦି ସେ ଆପଣା ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେବ, ତେବେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥାନ ତାହାକୁ ଅସ୍ୱୀକାର କରି କହିବ, ‘ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦେଖି ନାହିଁ।’
If one destroy him out of his place, then will it disown him [saying] —I have not seen thee.
19 ଦେଖ, ଏହି ତାହାର ଗତିର ଆମୋଦ, ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଭୂମିରୁ ଅନ୍ୟମାନେ ଉଠିବେ।
Lo! that, is the joy of his way, —and, out of the dust, shall others spring up.
20 ଦେଖ, ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ସିଦ୍ଧ ଲୋକକୁ ଦୂର କରିବେ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ସେ ଦୁଷ୍କର୍ମକାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧରି ରଖିବେ ନାହିଁ।
Lo! GOD, will not reject a blameless man, neither will he grasp the hand of evil-doers:
21 ତେବେ ହେଁ ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମୁଖକୁ ହାସ୍ୟରେ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଓଷ୍ଠାଧରକୁ ଆନନ୍ଦଧ୍ୱନିରେ ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରିବେ।
At length he shall fill with laughter thy mouth, and thy lips, with a shout of triumph:
22 ତୁମ୍ଭର ଘୃଣାକାରୀମାନେ ଲଜ୍ଜା ପରିହିତ ହେବେ ଓ ଦୁଷ୍ଟର ତମ୍ବୁ ଆଉ ରହିବ ନାହିଁ।”
They who hate thee, shall be clothed with shame, but, the tent of the lawless, shall not be!
