यहोशू 3
1 यहोशू बिहान सबेरै उठे र तिनीहरू शित्तीमबाट हिँडे । तिनीहरू यर्दनमा आए अनि, तिनी र इस्राएलका सबै मानिसले पारि जानअगि त्यहीँ नै छाउनी हाले ।
So then Joshua rose early in the morning, and they brake up from The Acacias and came as far as the Jordan, he and all the sons of Israel, —and they lodged there before they passed over.
2 तिन दिनपछि अधिकृतहरू छाउनीको बिच-बिचतिर गए;
And it came to pass, after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp,
3 तिनीहरूले मानिसहरूलाई आज्ञा गरे, “जब तिमीहरूले परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरको करारको सन्दुक र लेवी कुलका पुजारीहरूले यसलाई बोकिरहेका देख्छौ, तिमीहरूले यो ठाउँलाई छोड्नुपर्छ र यसको पछि-पछि जानुपर्छ ।
and commanded the people saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of Yahweh your God, and, the priests the Levites, bearing it, ye also, shall break up out of your place, and come after it.
4 तिमीहरू र यसको बिचमा एक हजार मिटर फरक हुनुपर्छ । यसको नजिक नआओ, ताकि कुन बाटो जानुपर्ने हो, सो तिमीहरूले देख्न सक्ने छौ, किनभने तिमीहरू यो बाटोमा यसअगि हिँडेका छैनौ ।”
Yet shall there be, a distance, between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure, —do not come near unto it that ye may get to know the way by which ye must go, for ye have not passed this way, heretofore.
5 यहोशूले मानिसहरूलाई भने, “भोलिको निम्ति आ-आफूलाई शुद्ध पार, किनभने परमप्रभुले तिमीहरूमाझ अचम्मका कामहरू गर्नुहुने छ ।”
Then said Joshua unto the people, Hallow yourselves, —for, to-morrow, will Yahweh do in your midst, wonderful things.
6 योहोशूले पुजारीहरूलाई भने, “करारको सन्दुक लेओ र मानिसहरूको अगिअगि जाओ ।” त्यसैले तिनीहरूले करारको सन्दुक उठाए र मानिसहरूको अगिअगि गए ।
And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take ye up the ark of the covenant, and pass on before the people. So they took up the ark of the covenant, and went on before the people.
7 परमप्रभुले यहोशूलाई भन्नुभयो, “आज म तँलाई इस्राएलका मानिसहरूको नजरमा महान् व्यक्ति बनाउने छु । म जसरी मोशासँग थिएँ, त्यसै गरी म तँसँग पनि छु भनी तिनीहरूले जान्ने छन् ।
Then said Yahweh unto Joshua: This day, will I begin to magnify thee in the eyes of all Israel, —who shall know, that, as I was with Moses, I will be with thee.
8 तैँले करारको सन्दुक बोक्ने पुजारीहरूलाई आज्ञा दिने छस्, 'जब तिमीहरू यर्दनको पानीको छेउमा पुग्छौ, तिमीहरू यर्दन नदीमा नै उभिरहनुपर्छ' ।”
Thou, therefore, shalt command the priests who am bearing the ark of the covenant, saying, —When ye are come as far as the edge of the waters of the Jordan, in the Jordan, shall ye stand.
9 अनि यहोशूले इस्राएलका मानिसहरूलाई भने, “यहाँ आओ, र परमप्रभु तिमीहरूका परमेश्वरको वचन सुन ।
Then said Joshua, unto the sons of Israel, —Draw near hither, and hear ye the words of Yahweh your God.
10 परमेश्वर तिमीहरूमाझ हुनुहुन्छ र कनानीहरू, हित्तीहरू, हिव्वीहरू, परिज्जीहरू, गिर्गाशीहरू, एमोरीहरू र यबूसीहरूलाई तिमीहरूको अगिबाट धपाउनु हुनेछ भनी तिमीहरूले थाहा पाउने छौ ।
And Joshua said, Hereby, shall ye know, that a Living GOD is in your midst, —and that he will, certainly dispossess, from before you, the Canaanite and the Hittite, and the Hivite and the Perizzite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Jebusite.
11 हेर, सारा पृथ्वीका परमप्रभुको करारको सन्दुक यर्दन नदीमा तिमीहरूको अगिअगि जाने छ ।
Lo! the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth, is about to pass before you into the Jordan.
12 अब इस्राएलका हरेक कुलबाट एक-एक जना गरी बाह्र जना मानिस छान ।
Now, therefore, take you twelve men, out of the tribes of Israel, —one man severally for each tribe;
13 जब सारा पृथ्वीका प्रभुहरूका परमप्रभुको करारको सन्दुक बोक्ने पुजारीहरूको खुट्टाले यर्दन नदीको पानी छुन्छ यर्दनको पानी रोकिने छ र माथिबाट तल बग्दै गरेको पानी पनि बग्न छोड्ने छ र त्यो एक थुप्रो भएर रहने छ ।
and it shall be, when the soles of the feet of the priests who are bearing the ark of Yahweh, Lord of all the earth, do rest, in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan, shall be cut off, the waters that are coming down from above, —and shall stand in one mound.
14 त्यसैले जब मानिसहरू यर्दन पारि जानलाई हिँडे, पुजारीहरूले करारको सन्दुकलाई बोकेर मानिसहरूको अगिअगि गए ।
And it came to pass, when the people set out from their tents, to cross the Jordan, —with the priests, bearing the ark of the covenant before the people,
15 ती करारको सन्दुक बोक्नेहरू यर्दन नदीमा आउने र तिनीहरूका खुट्टाले पानी छुने बित्तिकै (कटनीको समयभरि नै यर्दन नदीको पानी यसको किनारासम्म पुग्छ)
then, as the bearers of the ark came as far as the Jordan, and, the feet of the priests who were bearing the ark, were dipped in the edge of the waters, —the Jordan being full over all his banks, all the days of harvest,
16 माथिबाट तलतिर बग्दै गरेको पानी एक थुप्रो भई रोकियो ।
that the waters which were coming down from above, stood—rose up in one mound, a great way off, by the city Adam, which is beside Zarethan, and, they which were going down to the sea of the waste plain, the salt sea, failed—were cut off, —and, the people, passed over, right against Jericho.
17 पानी निकै माथिदेखि नै बग्न छोड्यो । पानी सार्तान नजिकैको आदम नाम गरेको सहरबाट नेगेवको समुद्र अर्थात् मृत सागरसम्म नै बग्न छोड्यो । मानिसहरू यरीहो नजिकै पारि तरे । इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले सुक्खा भूमिमा पार नगरेसम्म परमप्रभुको करारको सन्दुक बोक्ने पुजारीहरू यर्दन नदीको बिचमा सुक्खा जमिनमा उभिए ।
And the priests who were bearing the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, stood on dry ground, in the midst of the Jordan, with firm footing, —while all Israel were passing over on dry ground, until all the nation had made an end of passing over the Jordan.
