अय्यूब 38
1 तब परमप्रभुले अय्यूबलाई प्रचण्ड आँधीबाट बोलाउनुभयो र यसो भन्नुभयो,
And Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
2 “ज्ञानविनाका शब्दहरू बोलेर, योजनाहरूमा अन्धकार ल्याउने यो को हो?
Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3 अब एक जना मानिसले झैं आफ्नो कम्मर कस्, किनकि म तँलाई प्रश्नहरू सोध्नेछु, र तैंले जवाफ दिनुपर्छ ।
Gird up now thy loins like a man; and I will demand of thee, and inform thou me.
4 मैले पृथ्वीको जग बसाल्दा तँ कहाँ थिइस्? तँसित धेरै समझशक्ति छ भने मलाई भन् ।
Where wast thou when I founded the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 यसको नाप कसले निधो गर्यो? तँलाई थाहा भए मलाई भन् । यसमाथि कसले नाप्ने धागो टाँग्यो?
Who set the measures thereof — if thou knowest? or who stretched a line upon it?
6 के कुरा माथि यसका जगहरू बसालिए? यसको कुने-ढुङ्गो कसले बसाल्यो?
Whereupon were the foundations thereof sunken? or who laid its corner-stone,
7 कति बेला बिहानका ताराहरूले एकसाथ गाए, र परमेश्वरका सबै छोराहरूले आनन्दले चिच्च्याए ।
When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 गर्भबाट निस्केझैं समुद्र फुटेर निस्कँदा, कसले त्यसका ढोकाहरू बन्द गर्यो?
And who shut up the sea with doors, when it burst forth, issuing out of the womb?
9 कति बेला मैले त्यसलाई बादलको कपडाले ढाकें, अनि निस्पट्ट अन्धकारलाई त्यसको पटुका बनाएँ?
When I made the cloud its garment, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it;
10 त्यस बेला मैले समुद्रमा मेरो सिमाना तोकिदिएँ, र यसका गजबारहरू तथा ढोकाहरू लगाइदिएँ,
When I cut out for it my boundary, and set bars and doors,
11 अनि मैले त्यसलाई भनें, 'तँ यहाँसम्म आउन सक्छस्, तर यसभन्दा पर होइन । तेरा छालहरूको अहङ्कारको सिमा म यहाँ तोकिदिन्छु ।'
And said, Hitherto shalt thou come and no further, and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
12 के तैंले बिहानीलाई आज्ञा दिएको, अथवा मिरमिरेलाई त्यसको ठाउँ चिनाएको छस्,
Hast thou since thy days commanded the morning? hast thou caused the dawn to know its place,
13 जसको कारणले त्यसले पृथ्वीको छेउ समातोस्, अनि दुष्टहरूलाई त्यहाँबाट हटाउनलाई हल्लाओस्?
That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and the wicked might be shaken out of it?
14 छाप मुनिको माटोको आकार बदलिएझैं स्वरूपमा पृथ्वी बद्लिन्छ । एउटा लुगा कच्चेको धारझैं त्यसमा भएका सबै कुरा प्रस्ट देखिन्छन् ।
It is changed like the signet-clay; and [all things] stand forth as in a garment:
15 दुष्टहरूबाट तिनीहरूको 'ज्योति' लगिन्छ । तिनीहरूको उठाइएको पाखुरा भाँचिन्छ ।
And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the uplifted arm is broken.
16 के तँ समुद्रको पानीको मूलमा गएको छस्? के तँ गहिरोभन्दा गहिरो ठाउँमा हिंडेको छस्?
Hast thou entered as far as the springs of the sea? and hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep?
17 के मृत्युका ढोकाहरू तँलाई देखाइएको छ? के तैंले मृत्युका छायाका ढोकाहरू देखेको छस्?
Have the gates of death been revealed unto thee? and hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death?
18 के पृथ्वीको विस्तृत फैलावटलाई तैंले बुझेको छस्? तँलाई यो सबै थाहा छ भने मलाई भन् ।
Hath thine understanding compassed the breadths of the earth? Declare if thou knowest it all.
19 ज्योतिको बासस्थानमा जाने बाटो कता— अन्धकारको बारेमा, त्यसको ठाउँ कहाँ बस्छ?
Where is the way to where light dwelleth? and the darkness, where is its place,
20 ज्योति र अन्धकारलाई तिनीहरूको काम गर्ने ठाउँमा तैंले लिएर जान सक्छस्? तिनीहरूका घरमा तिनीहरूलाई फर्काएर लाने बाटो तैंले चिन्न सक्छस्?
That thou shouldest take it to its bound, and that thou shouldest know the paths to its house?
21 त्यति बेला नै तेरो जन्म भएको भए निस्सन्देह, तँलाई थाहा हुन्छ । तेरो उमेर धेरै भइसकेको हुन्छ!
Thou knowest, for thou wast then born, and the number of thy days is great!
22 हिउँका भण्डारहरूभित्र तँ पसेको छस्? अथवा असिनाका भण्डारहरू तैंले देखेको छस्?
Hast thou entered into the storehouses of the snow, and hast thou seen the treasuries of the hail,
23 यी कुराहरू मैले सङ्कष्टको समयको निम्ति, अनि संघर्ष र युद्धको दिनको लागि साँचेको छु ।
Which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of battle and war?
24 बिजुली चम्केर जाने बाटो कुन हो, अथवा पूर्वीय बतास कहाँबाट पृथ्वीको चारैतिर जान्छ?
By what way is the light parted, [and] the east wind scattered upon the earth?
25 झरीको बाडीको लागि कसले नहरहरू खनेको छ, अथवा गर्जनको लागि कसले बाटो बनाएको छ,
Who hath divided a channel for the rain-flood, and a way for the thunder's flash;
26 कुनै व्यक्ति नरहने ठाउँ र कोही नभएको उजाड-स्थानमा पानी पार्नलाई,
To cause it to rain on the earth, where no one is; on the wilderness wherein there is not a man;
27 सर्वनाश भएको र उजाड ठाउँहरूलाई हरियाली ल्याउनलाई, र भूमिबाट घाँस उमार्नलाई?
To satisfy the desolate and waste [ground], and to cause the sprout of the grass to spring forth?
28 के झरीको कुनै बुबा छ, अर्थात् शीतको थोपालाई जन्माउने को हो?
Hath the rain a father? or who begetteth the drops of dew?
29 कसको गर्भबाट बरफको जन्म भयो? आकाशबाट झर्ने तुसारोलाई कसले जन्मायो?
Out of whose womb cometh the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who bringeth it forth?
30 पानीले आफैलाई लुकाउँछ र ढुङ्गाझैं बन्छ । महासागरको सतह जमेको हुन्छ ।
When the waters lie hidden as in stone, and the face of the deep holdeth fast together.
31 के तैंले किरकिटी ताराहरूलाई साङ्लाले बाँध्न सक्छस्? अर्थात् मृगशिराको पुञ्जलाई फुकाल्न सक्छस्?
Canst thou fasten the bands of the Pleiades, or loosen the cords of Orion?
32 के तैंले तारामण्डलहरूलाई तिनीहरूको आफ्नो ऋतुमा प्रकट गराउन सक्छस्? के तैंले सप्तर्षि तारा र त्यसको दललाई डोर्याउन सक्छस्?
Dost thou bring forth the constellations each in its season? or dost thou guide the Bear with her sons?
33 के तैंले आकाशको शासन गर्ने नियमहरूलाई जानेको छस्? के तैंले आकाशको नियमलाई पृथ्वीमाथि बसाउन सक्छस्?
Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? dost thou determine their rule over the earth?
34 के तैंले आफ्नो सोर बादलसम्म पुर्याउन सक्छस्, जसले गर्दा झरीको प्रसस्त भलले तँलाई ढाक्न सक्छ?
Dost thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that floods of waters may cover thee?
35 के तैँल बिजुलीका चमकहरूलाई पठाउन सक्छस् जसले गर्दा ती बाहिर जान सकून्, तिनले तँलाई यसो भनून्, 'हामी यहाँ छौं?'
Dost thou send forth lightnings that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?
36 बादलमा कसले बुद्धि राखेको छ, अथवा तुवाँलोलाई समझशक्ति दिएको छ?
Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the mind?
37 कसले आफ्नो सिपद्वारा बादललाई गन्न सक्छ? कसले आकाशको पानीको भण्डारबाट खन्याउन सक्छ,
Who numbereth the clouds with wisdom? or who poureth out the bottles of the heavens,
38 जति बेला धुलो कडा डल्लो बन्छ, अनि माटोका डल्लाहरू एकसाथ टाँसिएर बस्छ?
When the dust runneth as into a molten mass, and the clods cleave fast together?
39 के सिंहनीको निम्ति तैंले सिकार खोज्न सक्छस्, अर्थात् त्यसका डमरूहरूको भोकलाई तृप्त पार्न सक्छस्,
Dost thou hunt the prey for the lioness, and dost thou satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
40 जति बेला तिनीहरू आफ्नो खोरमा ढुकिबस्छन्, अनि गुप्तमा लुकेर पर्खिरहन्छन्?
When they crouch in [their] dens, [and] abide in the thicket to lie in wait?
41 कागका बचेराहरूले परमेश्वरमा पुकारा गर्दा, र खानेकुराको अभावले भाउन्न हुँदा, कसले तिनलाई आहार जुटाइदिन्छ?
Who provideth for the raven his food, when his young ones cry unto God, [and] they wander for lack of meat?
