इब्री 11
NOW faith is the realizing confidence of the things hoped for, and the demonstration of things unseen:
for thereby the ancients obtained a testimony of approbation.
3 ३ विश्वासाने आपल्याला समजते की, देवाच्या शब्दाने विश्व निर्माण झाले; म्हणजे ज्या गोष्टी दिसतात त्या दृश्य गोष्टींपासून झाल्या नाहीत. (aiōn g165)
By faith we understand that the worlds were exactly formed by the word of God, so that the visible objects were not made out of things which now appear. (aiōn g165)
4 ४ विश्वासाने, हाबेलाने काइनापेक्षा अधिक चांगले बलिदान देवाला अर्पण केले; त्याद्वारे तो नीतिमान आहे अशी त्याच्याविषयी साक्ष देण्यात आली कारण देवाने त्याच्या अर्पणाविषयी साक्ष दिली आणि त्याद्वारे तो मरण पावला असताही अजूनही बोलतो.
By faith Abel offered unto God a sacrifice of more excellence than Cain, by which he received a testimony that he was a righteous man, God bearing witness upon his gifts: and by this, though dead, he still speaketh.
5 ५ हनोखाला मरणाचा अनुभव घेऊ नये म्हणून, त्यास विश्वासाने लोकांतरी नेण्यात आले; आणि तो कोठे सापडला नाही, कारण देवाने त्यास नेले. त्यास लोकांतरी नेण्यापूर्वी त्याच्याविषयी अशी साक्ष देण्यात आली की, तो देवाला संतोषवीत असे.
By faith Enoch was translated, so as not to see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he was recorded to have been acceptable to God.
6 ६ पण विश्वासाशिवाय त्यास संतोषवणे अशक्य आहे, कारण जो त्याच्याकडे येतो त्याने विश्वास ठेवला पाहिजे की, तो आहे आणि जे त्यास झटून शोधतात त्यांना प्रतिफळ देणारा आहे.
But without faith it is impossible to be acceptable; for he must believe, who cometh unto God, that he exists, and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
7 ७ विश्वासाने, नोहाने, पूर्वी कधी न दिसलेल्या गोष्टींविषयी त्यास सूचना मिळाल्याप्रमाणे, आदराने भय धरून, आपले कुटुंब तारण्यासाठी विश्वासाने तारू बांधले; आणि त्याद्वारे त्याने जगाला दोषी ठरवले आणि विश्वासाने प्राप्त होणार्‍या नीतिमत्त्वाचा तो वारीस झाला.
By faith Noah, being divinely warned respecting things not yet seen, filled with reverential awe, prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 ८ विश्वासाने, अब्राहामाने, त्यास जे ठिकाण वतन मिळणार होते तिकडे जाण्यास त्यास बोलवण्यात आले तेव्हा आज्ञा मानली. तो कोठे जाणार होता हे त्यास माहीत नसताना तो निघाला.
By faith Abraham, called to go forth unto a place which he should in future obtain as an heritage, obeyed; and he went forth, not knowing whither he was going.
9 ९ विश्वासाने, तो वचनदत्त देशात, जणू परदेशात प्रवासी म्हणून राहिला; आणि त्याच वतनात त्याचे जोडीचे वारीस इसहाक व याकोब ह्यांच्याबरोबर तो डेर्‍यात वस्ती होती.
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the co-heirs of the same promise.
For he expected a city having foundations, of which God is the planner and architect.
11 ११ विश्वासाने, सारेलाही, ती स्वतः वयातीत झाली असता गर्भधारणेची क्षमता मिळाली; कारण ज्याने वचन दिले त्यास तिने विश्वसनीय मानले.
By faith also that very Sarah, who was barren, received ability for the conception of seed, and past the usual time of life brought forth a child, because she accounted that he who promised it, would be true to his promise.
12 १२ म्हणून केवळ एकापासून आणि अशा मृतवत झालेल्या पासून संख्येने आकाशातील तार्‍यांप्रमाणे, समुद्राच्या किनार्‍यावरील वाळूप्रमाणे असंख्य संतती निर्माण झाली.
Wherefore even from one person, and he become dead in respect to these matters, there sprang a race, as the stars of heaven for multitude, and as the sand, which is on the shore of the sea, innumerable.
13 १३ हे सगळे विश्वासात टिकून मरण पावले; त्यांना वचनांची प्राप्ती झाली नव्हती. पण त्यांनी ती दुरून बघून त्यांना वंदन केले आणि त्यांनी मानले की, आपण पृथ्वीवर परके आणि प्रवासी आहोत.
All these died in faith, not having received the promises, but beholding them at a great distance, though believing and embracing them, and confessing that they were strangers and sojourners in the land.
Now they who speak thus, shew evidently that they are in earnest search of their native country.
15 १५ आणि खरोखर, ते ज्या देशातून निघाले होते त्याचा ते विचार करीत असते, तर तिकडे परत जाण्याची संधी त्यांना मिळाली असती.
And if indeed they had fixed their minds on that from whence they had gone forth, they might have had opportunity to go back to it again.
16 १६ पण आता, ते अधिक चांगल्या देशाची म्हणजे स्वर्गीय देशाची इच्छा धरतात, ह्यामुळे आपणाला त्यांचा देव म्हणून घेण्यास देवाला त्यांची लाज वाटत नाही कारण त्याने त्यांच्यासाठी एक नगर तयार केले आहे.
But now their longing desires are after a better country, that is, the heavenly one: wherefore God is not ashamed of them to be called their God: for he hath prepared a city for them.
17 १७ अब्राहामाने, त्याची परीक्षा केली जात असता विश्वासाने, इसहाकाचे अर्पण केले; म्हणजे, ज्याने वचने स्वीकारली होती तो आपला एकुलता एक मुलगा अर्पिला.
By faith Abraham, when tried, offered up Isaac; and he who had received the promise, presented in sacrifice his only begotten son,
unto whom it had been said, “That by Isaac shall there be a seed bearing thy name:”
19 १९ तरी, देव त्यास मरण पावलेल्यातून उठवायलादेखील समर्थ आहे असे त्याने मानले. तो त्यास तेथून, जणू लाक्षणिक अर्थाने, परतही मिळाला.
reasoning that God was able to raise him up again, even from the dead; from whence also figuratively he had received him.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau with regard to future things.
21 २१ याकोबाने मरतेवेळी योसेफाच्या प्रत्येक मुलाला विश्वासाने, आशीर्वाद दिला व आपल्या काठीच्या टोकावर टेकून नमन केले.
By faith, dying Jacob blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and bowed down in adoration upon the top of his staff.
22 २२ विश्वासाने, योसेफाने, मरतेवेळी, इस्राएलाच्या संतानाच्या निघण्याविषयी सूचना केली व आपल्या अस्थींविषयी आज्ञा दिली.
By faith Joseph, approaching his end, made mention of the children of Israel’s departure thence; and gave a charge respecting his bones.
23 २३ विश्वासाने, मोशे जन्मल्यावर, त्यास त्याच्या आई-वडीलांनी तीन महिने लपवून ठेवले; कारण मूल सुंदर आहे हे त्यांनी बघितले व त्यांना राजाच्या आज्ञेचे भय वाटले नाही.
By faith Moses, after he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw the child singularly beautiful; and they were not intimidated by the command of the king.
By faith Moses, when he became a grown man, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
choosing rather to suffer afflictions with the people of God, than to have a temporary fruition of sin;
26 २६ आणि ख्रिस्ताप्रीत्यर्थ विटंबना सोसणे हे मिसरातील भांडारापेक्षा मोठे धन मानले; कारण श्रमांबद्दल मिळणाऱ्या वेतनावर त्याची दृष्टी होती.
esteeming the reproach of Christ riches greater than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked earnestly to the recompence of reward.
27 २७ विश्वासाने राजाच्या क्रोधाला न भिता त्याने मिसर देश सोडला; कारण जो अदृश्य आहे त्यास पाहत असल्याप्रमाणे तो ठाम राहिला.
By faith he forsook Egypt, not intimidated by the wrath of the king: for he boldly persisted, as seeing the invisible Jehovah.
28 २८ विश्वासाने त्याने वल्हांडण व रक्तसिंचन हे विधी पाळले, ते ह्यासाठी की, प्रथम जन्मलेल्यांना मारणार्‍याने त्यांना शिवू नये.
By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the first-born might not touch them.
29 २९ विश्वासाने ते तांबड्या समुद्रामधून, कोरड्या जमिनीवरून गेल्याप्रमाणे गेले व मिसरी तसे करण्याच्या प्रयत्नात बुडून मरण पावले.
By faith they passed through the Red sea, as on dry ground; which the Egyptians attempting to do were swallowed up.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after being circled round seven days.
31 ३१ विश्वासाने राहाब वेश्या ही अवज्ञा करणार्‍या इतरांबरोबर नाश पावली नाही; कारण तिने शांतीने हेरांचे स्वागत केले होते.
By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with those who were infidels, having received the spies in peace.
32 ३२ आता मी अधिक काय सांगू? गिदोन, बाराक, शमशोन आणि इफ्ताह, तसेच दावीद व शमुवेल आणि संदेष्टे यांच्याविषयी मी सांगू लागलो तर मला वेळ अपुरा पडेल.
And what more shall I say: for the time would fail me if I should make a narration concerning Gideon, and Barac, and Sampson, and Jephtha, and David, and Samuel, and the prophets:
who by faith vanquished kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 ३४ त्यांनी अग्नीची शक्ती संपवली, तलवारीच्या धारेपासून ते निभावले, अशक्तपणात सशक्त झाले, युद्धात पराक्रमी झाले, त्यांनी परक्यांची सैन्ये पळवली.
extinguished the force of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, they were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in battle, routed the armies of aliens.
35 ३५ कित्येक स्त्रियांना त्यांचे मरण पावलेले, पुन्हा जिवंत होऊन, परत मिळाले आणि कित्येकांनी अधिक चांगले पुनरुत्थान मिळवण्यास आपली सुटका न पतकरल्यामुळे त्यांचे हाल हाल करण्यात आले.
Women received by a resurrection their dead: but others were tortured, not accepting a release; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
and others had trials of mockeries and whippings, yea and farther of chains and imprisonment:
37 ३७ त्यांना दगडमार केला गेला, त्यांना करवतीने कापले, त्यांची परीक्षा केली गेली, ते तलवारीने मारले गेले आणि दुरावलेले, नाडलेले व पीडलेले होऊन ते मेंढरांची व शेरड्यांची कातडी पांघरून भटकले.
they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they experienced the severest trials, they were slain by the edge of the sword: they went about wrapped in skins of sheep and goats, destitute of all things, pressed down with afflictions, suffering all kind of misery;
38 ३८ जग त्यांच्यासाठी लायक नव्हते ते रानांमधून, डोंगरांमधून, गुहांमधून व जमिनीमधील खंदकामधून फिरत राहिले.
of whom the world was not worthy: they wandered up and down in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens, and caverns of the earth.
And these all though having obtained a testimony by faith, received not the promise:
40 ४० कारण ते आपल्याशिवाय पूर्ण केले जाऊ नयेत अशी देवाच्या दृष्टीपुढे आपल्यासाठी अधिक चांगली गोष्ट होती.
God having provided for us something better, that without us they should not attain to perfection.
