1 യെഹൂദയുടെ പിൻഗാമികൾ: ഫേരെസ്, ഹെസ്രോൻ, കർമി, ഹൂർ, ശോബാൽ.
Sons of Judah: Pharez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
2 ശോബാലിന്റെ മകനായ രെയായാവ് യഹത്തിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; യഹത്ത് അഹൂമായിയുടെയും ലാഹദിന്റെയും പിതാവും. സോരാത്യകുലങ്ങൾ ഇവരായിരുന്നു.
And Reaiah son of Shobal begat Jahath, and Jahath begat Ahumai and Lahad; these [are] families of the Zorathite.
3 ഏതാമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ ഇവരായിരുന്നു: യെസ്രീൽ, യിശ്മാ, യിദ്ബാശ്. അവരുടെ സഹോദരിയായിരുന്നു ഹസ്സെലെല്പോനി.
And these [are] of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister [is] Hazzelelponi,
4 പെനൂവേൽ ഗെദോരിന്റെയും ഹൂശായുടെ പിതാവായ ഏസെറിന്റെയും പിതാവായിരുന്നു. ബേത്ലഹേമിന്റെ പിതാവും എഫ്രാത്തയുടെ ആദ്യജാതനുമായ ഹൂരിന്റെ പിൻഗാമികൾ ഇവരായിരുന്നു.
and Penuel [is] father of Gedor, and Ezer father of Hushah. These [are] sons of Hur, first-born of Ephratah, father of Beth-Lehem.
5 തെക്കോവയുടെ പിതാവായ അശ്ഹൂരിന് ഹേലാ, നയരാ എന്നീ രണ്ടു ഭാര്യമാരുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And to Ashhur father of Tekoa were two wives, Helah and Naarah;
6 അശ്ഹൂരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ അഹുസ്സാം, ഹേഫെർ, തേമനി, ഹായഹസ്താരി എന്നിവർക്ക് നയരാ ജന്മംനൽകി. നയരായുടെ പിൻഗാമികൾ ഇവരായിരുന്നു.
and Naarah beareth to him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari: these [are] sons of Naarah.
7 ഹേലയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: സേരെത്ത്, യെസോഹർ, എത്നാൻ, കോസ്.
And sons of Helah: Zereth, and Zohar, and Ethnan.
8 ഈ കോസ് ആനൂബിന്റെയും സോബേബയുടെയും ഹാരൂമിന്റെ മകനായ അഹർഹേലിന്റെ കുലങ്ങളുടെയും പിതാവായിരുന്നു.
And Coz begat Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel son of Harum.
9 യബ്ബേസ് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെക്കാൾ അധികം ബഹുമാന്യനായിരുന്നു. “ഞാൻ അവനെ വേദനയോടെ പ്രസവിച്ചു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അവന്റെ അമ്മ അവന് യബ്ബേസ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
And Jabez is honoured above his brethren, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, 'Because I have brought forth with grief.'
10 യബ്ബേസ് ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തോട് ഈ വിധം അപേക്ഷിച്ചു: “ദൈവമേ, അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും എന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരുകൾ വിപുലമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യണമേ! അവിടത്തെ കൈ എന്നോടൊപ്പം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണേ! എന്നെ വിപത്തുകളിൽനിന്നു കാത്തുകൊള്ളണമേ, അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ വേദനകളിൽനിന്നു മോചിതനാകട്ടെ.” ദൈവം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു.
And Jabez calleth to the God of Israel, saying, 'If blessing Thou dost bless me, then Thou hast made great my border, and Thy hand hath been with me, and Thou hast kept [me] from evil — not to grieve me;' and God bringeth in that which he asked.
11 ശൂഹയുടെ സഹോദരനായ കെലൂബ് മെഹീറിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു; അയാൾ എസ്തോന്റെ പിതാവും
And Chelub brother of Shuah begat Mehir; he [is] father of Eshton.
12 എസ്തോൻ ബേത്ത്-രാഫയുടെയും പാസേഹയുടെയും ഈർ-നാഹാശിന്റെ പിതാവായ തെഹിന്നയുടെയും പിതാവായിരുന്നു. ഇവർ രേഖയുടെ പിൻഗാമികളായിരുന്നു.
And Eshton begat Beth-Rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah father of Ir-Nahash; these [are] men of Rechah.
13 കെനസ്സിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഒത്നിയേൽ, സെരായാവ്. ഒത്നിയേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഹഥത്ത്, മെയോനോഥയി.
And sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah; and sons of Othniel: Hathath.
14 മെയോനോഥയി ഒഫ്രയുടെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു. സെരായാവ് യോവാബിന്റെ പിതാവായിരുന്നു, ഗേ-ഹരാശീമിന്റെ പിതാവും ആയിരുന്നു. ഗേ-ഹരാശീമിലെ നിവാസികൾ കരകൗശലവേലയിൽ വൈദഗ്ദ്ധ്യമുള്ളതിനാൽ ആ നഗരത്തിന് ആ പേരു ലഭിച്ചു.
And Meonothai begat Ophrah, and Seraiah begat Joab father of the valley of artificers, for they were artificers.
15 യെഫുന്നെയുടെ മകനായ കാലേബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഈരു, ഏലാ, നായം. ഏലയുടെ പുത്രൻ: കെനസ്സ്.
And sons of Caleb son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and sons of Elah, even Kenaz.
16 യെഹല്ലെലേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: സീഫ്, സീഫാ, തിര്യാ, അസരെയേൽ.
And sons of Jehaleleel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asareel.
17 എസ്രയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: യേഥെർ, മേരെദ്, ഏഫെർ, യാലോൻ. മേരെദിന്റെ ഭാര്യമാരിൽ ഒരുവൾ, മിര്യാം, ശമ്മായി, എസ്തെമോവയുടെ പിതാവായ യിശ്ബഹ് എന്നിവർക്ക് ജന്മംനൽകി.
And sons of Ezra [are] Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon: and she beareth Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah father of Eshtemoa.
18 ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയും മേരെദിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുമായ ബിഥ്യയുടെ മക്കൾ ഇവരായിരുന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ, യെഹൂദാഗോത്രജയായ ഭാര്യ, ഗെദോരിന്റെ പിതാവായ യാരെദ്, സോഖോവിന്റെ പിതാവായ ഹേബെർ, സനോഹയുടെ പിതാവായ യെക്കൂഥീയേൽ എന്നിവർക്ക് ജന്മംനൽകി.
And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered father of Gedor, and Heber father of Socho, and Jekuthiel father of Zanoah. And these [are] sons of Bithiah daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took,
19 ഹോദീയായുടെ ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നു നഹമിന്റെ സഹോദരി. അവളുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഗർമ്യനായ കെയീലയുടെ പിതാവ്, മാഖാത്യനായ എസ്തെമോവ,
and sons of the wife of Hodiah sister of Nahom: Abi-Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.
20 ശീമോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: അമ്നോൻ, രിന്നാ, ബൻ-ഹാനാൻ, തീലോൻ, യിശിയുടെ പിൻഗാമികൾ: സോഹേത്തും ബെൻ-സോഹേത്തും,
And sons of Shimon [are] Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-Hanon, and Tilon; and sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben-Zoheth.
21 യെഹൂദയുടെ മകനായ ശേലഹിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ലേഖയുടെ പിതാവായ ഏർ, മാരേശയുടെയും ബത്ത്-അശ്ബേയയിലെ ശണവസ്ത്രത്തൊഴിലാളി കുലങ്ങളുടെയും പിതാവായ ലദാ,
Sons of Shelah son of Judah: Er father of Lecah, and Laadah father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of the service of fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
22 കൊസേബാ നിവാസികളായ യോക്കീം, മോവാബിലെയും യശൂബി-ലെഹേമിലെയും ഭരണകർത്താക്കളായിരുന്ന യോവാശും സാരാഫും. (പ്രാചീനകാലത്തെ രേഖകളിൽനിന്നുള്ള വിവരങ്ങളാണിവ).
and Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who ruled over Moab and Jashubi-Lehem; and these things [are] ancient.
23 അവർ നെതായീമിലും ഗെദേരയിലും താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന കളിമൺപാത്ര നിർമാതാക്കളായിരുന്നു. അവർ അവിടെ താമസിച്ച് രാജാവിനുവേണ്ടി വേല ചെയ്തിരുന്നു.
They [are] the potters and inhabitants of Netaim and Gedera; with the king in his work they dwelt there.
24 ശിമെയോന്റെ പിൻഗാമികൾ: നെമൂവേൽ, യാമിൻ, യാരീബ്, സേരഹ്, ശാവൂൽ.
Sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;
25 ശല്ലൂം ശാവൂലിന്റെ മകനായിരുന്നു. മിബ്ശാം ശല്ലൂമിന്റെ മകനും മിശ്മാ മിബ്ശാമിന്റെ പൗത്രനും ആയിരുന്നു.
Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
26 മിശ്മായുടെ പിൻഗാമികൾ: ഹമ്മൂവേൽ മിശ്മായുടെ മകൻ, സക്കൂർ ഹമ്മൂവേലിന്റെ മകൻ, ശിമെയി സക്കൂറിന്റെ മകൻ.
And sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zacchur his son, Shimei his son.
27 ശിമെയിക്ക് പതിനാറു പുത്രന്മാരും ആറു പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്ക് കൂടുതൽ സന്താനങ്ങളില്ലായിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ അവരുടെ കുലം മൊത്തത്തിൽ യെഹൂദാഗോത്രത്തോളം സംഖ്യാബഹുലമായിത്തീർന്നില്ല.
And to Shimei [are] sixteen sons and six daughters, and to his brethren there are not many sons, and none of their families have multiplied as much as the sons of Judah.
28 അവർ ബേർ-ശേബയിലും മോലാദായിലും ഹസർ-ശൂവാലിലും
And they dwell in Beer-Sheba, and Moladah, and Hazar-Shaul,
29 ബിൽഹയിലും ഏസെമിലും തോലാദിലും
and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad,
30 ബെഥൂവേലിലും ഹോർമയിലും സിക്ലാഗിലും
and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag,
31 ബേത്-മർക്കാബോത്തിലും ഹസർ-സൂസീമിലും ബേത്-ബിരിയിലും ശയരയീമിലും താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഭരണകാലംവരെ ഇവ അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളായിരുന്നു.
and in Beth-Marcaboth, and in Hazar-Susim, and in Beth-Birei, and in Shaarim; these [are] their cities till the reigning of David.
32 ഏതാം, ആയിൻ, രിമ്മോൻ, തോഖെൻ, ആശാൻ എന്നീ അഞ്ചു പട്ടണങ്ങളും
And their villages [are] Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,
33 അവയ്ക്കു ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും ബാൽവരെയുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളും അവരുടേതായിരുന്നു. ഇവയായിരുന്നു അവരുടെ അധിനിവേശസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ. അവർ ഒരു വംശാവലിയും രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു:
and all their villages that [are] round about these cities unto Baal; these [are] their dwellings, and they have their genealogy:
34 മെശോബാബ്, യമ്ളെക്ക്, അമസ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോശാ
even Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah son of Amaziah,
35 യോവേൽ, അസീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരായാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോശിബ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യേഹു,
and Joel, and Jehu son of Josibiah, son of Seraiah, son of Asiel,
36 എല്യോവേനായി, യയക്കോബാ, യശോഹായാവ്, അസായാവ്, അദീയേൽ, യസീമിയേൽ, ബെനായാവ്,
and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,
37 ശെമയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ശിമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ യെദായാവിന്റെ മകനായ അല്ലോന്റെ മകനായ ശിഫിയുടെ മകനായ സീസാ.
and Ziza son of Shiphi, son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah.
38 മുകളിൽ പേരു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഇവർ അവരവരുടെ കുലങ്ങൾക്കു നായകന്മാരായിരുന്നു. അവരുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങൾ അത്യധികമായി വർധിച്ചു;
These who are coming in by name [are] princes in their families, and the house of their fathers have broken forth into a multitude;
39 അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കു മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറം അന്വേഷിച്ച്, താഴ്വരയ്ക്കും കിഴക്കോട്ട്, ഗെദോരിന്റെ കവാടംവരെ കടന്നുചെന്നു.
and they go to the entrance of Gedor, unto the east of the valley, to seek pasture for their flock,
40 അവർ അവിടെ സമൃദ്ധമായ നല്ല മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറം കണ്ടെത്തി. ആ ഭൂപ്രദേശം വിസ്തൃതവും സമാധാനപൂർണവും ശാന്തവും ആയിരുന്നു. മുമ്പ് ഹാം വംശക്കാരിൽ ചിലർ അവിടെ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നു.
and they find pasture, fat and good, and the land broad of sides, and quiet, and safe, for of Ham are those dwelling there before.
41 പേരു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആളുകൾ യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ഹിസ്കിയാവിന്റെകാലത്ത് അവിടേക്കു കടന്നുചെന്നു; അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഹാംവംശജരെയും മെയൂന്യരെയും അവരുടെ ഭവനങ്ങളിൽക്കയറി ആക്രമിച്ച് നിശ്ശേഷം നശിപ്പിച്ചു. അത് ഇന്നുവരെയും തെളിവായിരിക്കുന്നു. തങ്ങളുടെ മൃഗഗണങ്ങൾക്കു സമൃദ്ധമായ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ അവിടെ താമസമുറപ്പിച്ചു.
And these who are written by name come in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smite their tents, and the habitations that have been found there, and devote them to destruction unto this day, and dwell in their stead, because pasture for their flock [is] there.
42 ഈ ശിമെയോന്യരിൽ അഞ്ഞൂറുപേർ യിശിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരായ പെലത്യാവ്, നെയര്യാവ്, രെഫായാവ്, ഉസ്സീയേൽ എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ മലനിരയിലുള്ള രാജ്യമായ സേയീരിനെ ആക്രമിച്ചു.
And of them, of the sons of Simeon, there have gone to mount Seir, five hundred men, and Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, sons of Ishi, at their head,
43 രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടവരിൽ അവിടെ ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന അമാലേക്യരെ അവർ കൊന്നൊടുക്കി. അവർ ഇന്നുവരെ അവിടെ ജീവിച്ചുപോരുന്നു.
and they smite the remnant of those escaped of Amalek, and dwell there unto this day.
