Salamo 124

1 Fihirana fiakarana. Nataon’ i Davida.

A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. A psalm of David. If the Lord hadn't been for us, what would have happened? Let everyone in Israel say:

2 Raha tsy Jehovah no nomba antsika, Raha nitsangana hamely antsika ny olona.

If the Lord hadn't been for us, what would have happened when people came and attacked us?

3 Dia nitelina antsika velona izy, Raha nirehitra tamintsika ny fahatezerany;

They would have swallowed us alive when their anger raged against us.

4 Dia nandifotra antsika ny rano, Ary nanafotra ny fanahintsika ny riaka;

Like a flood they would have swept over us; like a rushing torrent they would have submerged us.

5 Eny, nanafotra ny fanahintsika Ny rano misafoaka.

They would have rushed over us like raging waters, drowning us.

6 Isaorana anie Jehovah, Izay tsy nanolotra antsika ho rembin’ ny nifiny.

Praise the Lord, who didn't hand us over to them as prey to be ripped apart by their teeth.

7 Ny fanahintsika dia efa afaka tahaka ny vorona afaka tamin’ ny fandriky ny mpihaza: Tapaka ny fandrika, ka afaka isika.

We escaped from them like a bird flying out of a hunter's trap. The trap was broken and we flew away!

8 Ny famonjena antsika dia amin’ ny anaran’ i Jehovah, Mpanao ny lanitra sy ny tany.

Our help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
