< Josoa 22 >

1 Ary tamin’ izay dia nantsoin’ i Josoa ny Robenita sy ny Gadita sy ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase,
At that time Joshua called the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.
2 ka hoy izy taminy: Hianareo efa nitandrina izay rehetra nandidian’ i Mosesy mpanompon’ i Jehovah anareo sady efa nihaino ny feoko koa tamin izay rehetra nandidiako anareo;
He said to them, “You have done everything that Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you. You have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you.
3 tsy nilaozanareo ny rahalahinareo hatramin’ izany andro maro izany ka mandraka androany fa notandremanareo ny lalàna nasain’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo notandremanareo.
You have not deserted your brothers these many days, down to this present day, and you have fulfilled the duties required by the commandments of Yahweh your God.
4 Ary ankehitriny dia efa nomen’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo fitsaharana ny rahalahinareo, araka izay nolazainy taminy; koa modia ankehitriny, ka mankanesa any amin’ ny lainareo avy, ho any amin’ ny taninareo, izay nomen’ i Mosesy, mpanompon’ i Jehovah, anareo any an-dafin’ i Jordana.
Now Yahweh your God has given rest to your brothers, just as he promised them. Therefore turn and go to your tents in the land you own, which Moses the servant of Yahweh gave you on the other side of the Jordan.
5 Kanefa mitandrema tsara mba hanaraka ny didy sy ny lalàna izay nandidian’ i Mosesy, mpanompon’ i Jehovah, anareo, hitiavanareo an’ i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo sy handehananareo amin’ ny lalany rehetra sy hitandremanareo ny didiny sy hifikiranareo aminy ary hanompoanareo Azy amin’ ny fonareo rehetra sy ny fanahinareo rehetra.
Just be very careful to observe the commandments and the law that Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, and to cling to him and worship him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
6 Dia nitso-drano azy Josoa ka nampody azy; dia lasa nankany amin’ ny lainy avy izy.
So Joshua blessed them and sent them away, and they went back to their tents.
7 Ary ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase efa nomen’ i Mosesy lova tany Basana; fa ny antsasany kosa efa nomen’ i Josoa teo amin’ ny rahalahiny etỳ an-dafy andrefan’ i Jordana. Ary raha nampodin’ i Josoa ho any amin’ ny lainy koa ireo, dia notsofiny rano izy
Now to one-half of the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given an inheritance in Bashan, but to the other half Joshua gave an inheritance beside their brothers in the land west of the Jordan. Joshua sent them away to their tents; he blessed them
8 ka nilazany hoe: Modia ho any amin’ ny lainareo avy ianareo, mitondra harena be sy omby aman’ ondry be indrindra sy volafotsy sy volamena sy varahina sy vy ary fitafiana be dia be; ary iombony amin’ ny rahalahinareo ny babo azo tamin’ ny fahavalonareo.
and said to them, “Return to your tents with much money, and with very much livestock, and with silver and gold, and with bronze and iron, and with very many garments. Divide the plunder from your enemies with your brothers.”
9 Dia nody ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada ary ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase ka nandao ny Zanak’ Isiraely tao Silo, izay ao amin’ ny tany Kanana, hankany amin’ ny tany Gileada ho any amin’ ny zara-taniny, izay azony araka ny tenin’ i Jehovah nasainy nolazain’ i Mosesy.
So the descendants of Reuben, the descendants of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh returned home, leaving the people of Israel at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan. They left to go to the region of Gilead, to their own land, which they themselves possessed, in obedience to the commandment of Yahweh, by the hand of Moses.
10 Ary raha tonga teo amoron’ i Jordana eo amin’ ny tany Kanana ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada ary ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase, dia nanorina alitara teo izy, ary lehibe ny fijery izany alitara izany.
When they came to the Jordan that is in the land of Canaan, the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh built an altar beside the Jordan, a very large and prominent altar.
11 Ary ny Zanak’ Isiraely nahare hoe: Indreo, ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada ary ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase efa nanorina alitara an-tsisin’ ny tany Kanana, eo amoron’ i Jordana, anatin’ ny tanin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely.
The people of Israel heard about this and said, “Look! The people of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar at the front of the land of Canaan, at Geliloth, in the region near the Jordan, on the side that belongs to the people of Israel.”
12 Ary nony ren’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely izany, dia niangona tao Silo ny fiangonana, dia ny Zanak’ Isiraely rehetra, mba hiakatra hiady aminy.
When the people of Israel heard of it, the whole assembly of the people of Israel gathered together at Shiloh to go up to make war against them.
13 Dia naniraka an’ i Finehasa, zanak’ i Eleazara mpisorona, ny Zanak’ Isiraely ho any amin’ ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada ary ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase, any amin’ ny tany Gileada,
Then the people of Israel sent messengers to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, in the land of Gilead. They also sent Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest,
14 sy loholona folo lahy koa niaraka taminy, dia loholona iray isam-pirenena tamin’ ny Isiraely rehetra: samy lohan’ ny fianakaviany tamin’ ny arivon’ ny Isiraely ireo.
and with him ten leaders, one from each of the tribal families of Israel, and every one of them was the head of a family among the clan of Israel.
15 Dia tonga tany amin’ ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada ary ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase tany amin’ ny tany Gileada ireo ka niteny taminy hoe:
They came to the people of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh, in the land of Gilead, and they spoke to them:
16 Izao no lazain’ ny fiangonan’ i Jehovah rehetra: Inona izato fahotana nataonareo amin’ Andriamanitry ny Isiraely, no niala tamin’ ny fanarahana an’ i Jehovah ianareo androany tamin’ ny nanorenanareo alitara ka miodina amin i Jehovah ankehitriny?
“The whole assembly of Yahweh says this, 'What is this unfaithfulness that you have committed against the God of Israel, by turning this day from following Yahweh by building yourself an altar this day in rebellion against Yahweh?
17 Zavatra kely loatra amintsika va ilay heloka ny amin’ i Peora, izay tsy mbola nahadiovantsika ny tenantsika ho afaka amin’ izany mandraka androany na dia efa nisy aza ilay areti-mandringana tamin’ ny fiangonan’ i Jehovah,
Was our sin at Peor not enough for us? Yet we have not even now cleansed ourselves from it. For that sin there came a plague on the assembly of Yahweh.
18 no dia mihodìna miala amin’ ny fanarahana an’ i Jehovah ianareo anio? Raha miodina amin’ i Jehovah ianareo anio, dia ho tezitra amin’ ny fiangonana, dia ny Isiraely rehetra, Izy rahampitso.
Must you also turn away from following Yahweh at this present day? If you also rebel against Yahweh today, tomorrow he will be angry with the whole assembly of Israel.
19 Kanefa raha maloto ny taninareo, dia mità ho any amin’ ny tanin’ i Jehovah, izay itoeran’ ny tabernakelin’ i Jehovah, ka any aminay maka fonenana; fa aza miodina amin’ i Jehovah, na miodina aminay, amin’ ny anorenanareo alitara afa-tsy ny alitaran’ i Jehovah Andriamanitsika.
If the land that you possess is defiled, then you should pass over into the land where Yahweh's tabernacle stands and take for yourselves a possession among us. Only do not rebel against Yahweh, nor rebel against us by building an altar for yourselves other than the altar of Yahweh our God.
20 Tsy nandika ny didy va Akana, zanak’ i Zera, tamin’ ny zavatra voaozona, ka nisy fahatezerana nahatratra ny fiangonana, dia ny Isiraely rehetra? Ary tsy io lehilahy irery io ihany no maty tamin’ izany helony izany.
Did not Achan son of Zerah break faith in the matter of those things that had been reserved for God? Did not wrath fall on all the people of Israel? That man did not perish alone for his iniquity.'”
21 Dia namaly ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada ary ny antsasaky ny firenen’ i Manase ka nanao tamin’ ny mpifehy arivo tamin’ ny Isiraely hoe:
Then the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh replied in answer to the heads of the clans of Israel:
22 Andriamanitra Andriananahary, dia Jehovah eny Andriamanitra Andriananahary, dia Jehovah, Izy no mahalala, ary ny Isiraely hahalala koa; raha fiodinana na fahadisoana amin’ i Jehovah (aza mba mamonjy anay akory Hianao anio),
“The Mighty One, God, Yahweh! The Mighty One, God, Yahweh!—He knows, and let Israel itself know! If it was in rebellion or in breach of faith against Yahweh, do not spare us on this day
23 raha izany no nanorenanay alitara, mba hiala amin’ ny fanarahana an’ i Jehovah, na hanatitra fanatitra dorana, na fanatitra hohanina, na fanati-pihavanana, eo amboniny dia aoka Jehovah no hanadina;
for having built an altar to turn ourselves away from following Yahweh. If we built that altar in order to offer on it burnt offerings, grain offerings, or peace offerings, then let Yahweh make us pay for it.
24 fa tahotra tokoa no anton’ ny nanaovanay izao; fa hoy izahay: Rahatrizay dia hanontany ny taranakay ny taranakareo hoe: Moa mifaninona akory ianareo sy Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely?
No! We did it for fear that in time to come your children might say to our children, 'What have you to do with Yahweh, the God of Israel?
25 fa Jordana no nataon’ i Jehovah ho faritra eo anelanelantsika, ry taranak’ i Robena sy Gada, ka tsy manana anjara amin’ i Jehovah ianareo; ka dia hampitsaharan’ ny taranakareo tsy hatahotra an’ i Jehovah ny taranakay,
For Yahweh has made the Jordan a border between us and you. You people of Reuben and people of Gad, you have nothing to do with Yahweh.' So your children might make our children cease to worship Yahweh.
26 Dia hoy izahay: Aoka isika hanorina alitara ho antsika, tsy hanaterana fanatitra dorana anefa, na fanatitra hafa alatsa-drà,
So we said, 'Let us now build an altar, not for burnt offerings nor for any sacrifices,
27 fa mba ho vavolombelona ho amintsika sy ny taranatsika mandimby antsika, hanaovanay ny fanompoana an’ i Jehovah eo anatrehany amin’ ny hanaterana fanatitra dorana sy fanatitra hafa alatsa-drà ary fanati-pihavanana mba tsy holazain’ ny taranakareo amin’ ny taranakay rahatrizay hoe: Tsy manana anjara amin’ i Jehovah ianareo.
but to be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we will perform the service of Yahweh before him, with our burnt offerings and with our sacrifices and with our peace offerings, so that your children will never say to our children in time to come, “You have no share in Yahweh.”'
28 Ary hoy izahay: Raha tàhiny lazainy aminay na ny taranakay izany rahatrizay, dia hataonay hoe: Jereo ny endriky ny alitaran’ i Jehovah, izay nataon’ ny razanay, tsy hanaterana fanatitra, dorana anefa na fanatitra hafa alatsa-drà, fa mba ho vavolombelona ho amintsika roa tonta.
So we said, 'If this should be said to us or to our descendants in time to come, we would say, “Look! This is a copy of the altar of Yahweh, which our ancestors made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.”
29 Sanatria aminay raha hiodina amin’ i Jehovah ka hiala anio amin’ ny fanarahana an’ i Jehovah hanorina alitara hanaterana fanatitra dorana, na fanatitra hohanina, na fanatitra hafa alatsa-drà, afa-tsy ny alitaran’ i Jehovah Andriamanitsika, izay eo anoloan’ ny tabernakeliny.
May it be far from us that we should rebel against Yahweh, and today turn away from following him by building an altar for burnt offering, for grain offering, or for sacrifice, other than the altar of Yahweh our God that is before his tabernacle.'”
30 Ary rehefa ren’ i Finehasa mpisorona sy ny lohan’ ny fiangonana, dia ny mpifehy arivo tamin’ ny Isiraely, izay niaraka taminy, ny teny izay nolazain’ ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada ary ny taranak’ i Manase, dia sitrany izany.
When Phinehas the priest and the leaders of the people, that is, the heads of the clans of Israel who were with him, heard the words that the people of Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh said, that it was good in their eyes.
31 Ary hoy Finehasa, zanak’ i Eleazara mpisorona, tamin’ ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada ary ny taranak’ i Manase: Fantatray anio fa eto amintsika Jehovah, satria tsy nanao izany fahadisoana izany tamin’ i Jehovah ianareo; ary amin’ izany dia efa namonjy ny Zanak’ Isiraely tamin’ ny tànan’ i Jehovah ianareo.
Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest said to the people of Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh, “Today we know that Yahweh is among us, because you have not committed this breach of faith against him. Now you have rescued the people of Israel out of the hand of Yahweh.”
32 Ary Finehasa, zanak’ i Eleazara mpisorona, sy ny loholona dia niverina nandao ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada tany amin’ ny tany Gileada ka nankany amin’ ny tany Kanana ho any amin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely ary nitondra valin-teny ho any aminy.
Then Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, and the leaders returned from the Reubenites and the Gadites, out of the land of Gilead, back to the land of Canaan, to the people of Israel, and brought back word to them.
33 Ary sitraky ny zanak’ Isiraely izany, dia nisaotra an’ Andriamanitra ny Zanak’ Isiraely ka tsy nihevitra hiakatra hiady aminy intsony handrava ny tany izay nonenan’ ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada.
Their report was good in the eyes of the people of Israel. The people of Israel blessed God and spoke no more about making war against the Reubenites and the Gadites, in order to destroy the land where they had settled.
34 Dia nasian’ ny taranak’ i Robena sy Gada anarana hoe Edy ilay alitara fa vavolombelona ho amintsika roa tonta io fa Jehovah no Andriamanitra.
The Reubenites and the Gadites named the altar “Witness,” for they said, “It is a witness between us that Yahweh is God.”
