< Josoa 11 >

1 Ary rehefa nahare Jabina, mpanjakan’ i Hazora, dia naniraka tany amin’ i Jobaba, mpanjakan’ i Madona, sy ny mpanjakan’ i Simrona sy ny mpanjakan’ i Aksafa,
When Jabin, king of Hazor, heard this, he sent a message to Jobab, king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Akshaph.
2 ary ireo mpanjaka tany amin’ ny tany havoana any avaratra koa sy tany amin’ ny tani-hay atsimon’ i Kinerota sy tany amin’ ny tany lemaka amoron-tsiraka ary tany amin’ ny havoan’ i Dora andrefana,
He also sent the message to the kings who were in the northern hill country, in the Jordan River valley south of Kinnereth, in the lowlands, and in Naphoth Dor to the west.
3 dia tamin’ ny Kananita any atsinanana sy any andrefana, ary tamin’ ny Amorita sy ny Hetita sy ny Perizita ary ny Jebosita tany amin’ ny tany havoana, ary tamin’ ny Hivita tany am-bodin’ i Hermona, tany amin’ ny tany Mizpa.
He also sent a message to the Canaanites to the east and west, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites in the hill country, and the Hivites by Mount Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
4 Dia nivoaka izy ireo sy ny miaramilany rehetra teo aminy, dia olona maro be toy ny fasika eny amoron-dranomasina ny hamaroany, ary ny soavaliny sy ny kalesiny dia maro indrindra.
All their armies came out with them, a great number of soldiers, in number like the sand on the seashore. They had a great number of horses and chariots.
5 Ary rehefa nivory ireo mpanjaka rehetra ireo, dia nandeha izy hiady tamin’ ny Isiraely ka nitoby teo anilan’ ny rano Meroma.
All these kings met at the appointed time, and they camped at the waters of Merom to wage war with Israel.
6 Dia hoy Jehovah tamin’ i Josoa: Aza matahotra azy; fa rahampitso toy izao Izaho dia hanolotra azy rehetra ho faty eo anatrehan’ ny Isiraely; traingoy ny soavaliny, ary dory amin’ ny afo ny kalesiny.
Yahweh said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid in their presence, because tomorrow at this time I am giving them all to Israel as dead men. You will hamstring their horses, and you will burn their chariots.”
7 Dia nandeha Josoa sy ny vahoaka rehetra mpanafika teo aminy ka tonga tampoka taminy teo amoron’ ny rano Meroma, dia namely azy.
Joshua and all the men of war came. They arrived suddenly at the waters of Merom, and attacked the enemy.
8 Ary Jehovah nanolotra azy teo an-tànan’ ny Isiraely izay namely azy ka nanenjika azy hatrany Sidona lehibe sy hatrany Misrefota-mamia ary hatramin’ ny lohasaha Mizpa atsinanana; dia namely azy izy mandra-paha-tsy nisy niangana na dia iray akory aza.
Yahweh gave the enemy into the hand of Israel, and they struck them and pursued them to Sidon, Misrephoth Maim, and to the Valley of Mizpah to the east. They struck them until not even one survivor of them was left.
9 Ary Josoa dia nanao taminy araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah azy: ny soavalin’ ireny notraingoiny ary ny kalesiny nodorany tamin’ ny afo.
Joshua did to them just as Yahweh told him. He hamstrung the horses and burned the chariots.
10 Ary tamin’ izany dia niverina Josoa ka nahafaka an’ i Hazora ary namely ny mpanjakany tamin’ ny sabatra, satria Hazora no lohan’ ireny fanjakana rehetra ireny fahiny.
Joshua turned back at that time and captured Hazor. He struck its king with the sword. (Hazor had been head of all these kingdoms.)
11 Ary nasiany tamin’ ny lelan-tsabatra ny olona rehetra tao ka naringany avokoa: tsy nisy olo-miaina sisa na dia iray akory aza; ary Hazora nodorany tamin’ ny afo.
They struck with the sword every living creature that was there, and he set them apart to be destroyed, so there was not any living creature left alive. Then he burned Hazor.
12 Ary ny tanàna rehetra izay an’ ireny mpanjaka ireny sy ny mpanjakany rehetra dia azon’ i Josoa ary nasiany tamin’ ny lelan-tsabatra ka naringany, araka izay efa nandidian’ i Mosesy, mpanompon’ i Jehovah.
Joshua captured all the cities of these kings. He also captured all their kings and struck them with the edge of the sword. He completely destroyed them with the edge of the sword, just as Moses the servant of Yahweh had commanded.
13 Fa ny tanàna rehetra izay teny an-kavoana dia tsy mba nodoran’ ny Isiraely afa-tsy Hazora ihany, izay nodoran’ i Josoa.
Israel did not burn any of the cities built on mounds, except Hazor. It alone Joshua burned.
14 Ary ny fananana rehetra tao amin’ ireny tanàna ireny sy ny biby fiompy dia nalain’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely ho babony; fa ny olona rehetra nasiany tamin’ ny lelan-tsabatra mandra-pandringany azy; tsy nasiany niangana na dia iray akory aza.
The army of Israel took all the plunder from these cities along with the livestock for themselves. They killed every human being with the edge of the sword until all were dead. They left alive no creature that breathed.
15 Araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy mpanompony no nandidian’ i Mosesy an’ i Josoa; ka dia izany no nataon’ i Josoa: tsy nisy namelany izay rehetra efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
Just as Yahweh had commanded his servant Moses, in the same way, Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did it. He left nothing undone of all that Yahweh commanded Moses to do.
Joshua took all that land, the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen, the foothills, the Jordan River valley, the hill country of Israel, and the lowlands.
17 hatramin’ ny tendrombohitra mangadihady, izay fiakarana no any Seïra, ka hatrany Bala-gada eo amin’ ny lohasahan’ i Libanona am-bodin’ ny tendrombohitra Hermona; ary ny mpanjakany rehetra nosamboriny ka novonoiny ho faty.
From Mount Halak near Edom, and going north as far as Baal Gad in the valley near Lebanon below Mount Hermon, he captured all their kings and killed them.
18 Ela no niadian’ i Josoa tamin’ ireny mpanjaka rehetra ireny.
Joshua waged war for a long time with all the kings.
19 Tsy nisy tanàna izay nanao fihavanana tamin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely, afa-tsy ny Hivita izay nonina tany Gibeona ihany; fa azony tamin’ ny ady avokoa izy rehetra.
Not one city made peace with the army of Israel except the Hivites who lived in Gibeon. Israel captured all the rest of the cities in battle.
20 Fa avy tamin’ i Jehovah no nanamafian’ ireo ny fony hiady amin’ ny Isiraely, mba hanaovany azy ho zavatra voaozona, ka tsy nisy famindram-po, handringanana azy araka izay efa nandidian’ i Jehovah an’ i Mosesy.
For it was Yahweh who hardened their hearts so they would wage war against Israel, so that he might completely destroy them without mercy, just as he had instructed Moses.
21 Dia nandeha tamin’ izany andro izany Josoa ka namongotra ny Anakita tany amin’ ny tany havoana, dia tany Hebrona sy Debira sy Anaba, ary tany amin’ ny tany havoan’ i Joda rehetra, ary tany amin’ ny tany havoan’ Isiraely rehetra: naringan’ i Josoa avokoa izy sy ny tanànany.
Then Joshua came at that time and he destroyed the Anakim. He did this in the hill country, at Hebron, Debir, Anab, and in all the hill country of Judah, and in all the hill country of Israel. Joshua completely destroyed them and their cities.
22 Tsy nisy sisa tany amin’ ny tanin’ ny Zanak’ Isiraely ny Anakita; fa tany Gaza sy Gata ary Asdoda ihany no mbola nisy sisa.
None of the Anakim were left in the land of Israel except at Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod.
23 Dia lasan’ i Josoa avokoa ny tany rehetra, araka izay rehetra nolazain’ i Jehovah tamin’ i Mosesy; ary nomen’ i Josoa ho lovan’ ny Isiraely izany, araka ny fizaran’ ny fireneny. Dia nitsahatra ny ady ka nandry ny tany.
So Joshua captured the whole land, just as Yahweh said to Moses. Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel, assigned to each of their tribes. Then the land had rest from the wars.
