< Joba 41 >
1 Mahasarika ny mamba amin’ ny farango va ianao, na mahafatotra ny lelany amin’ ny mahazaka?
Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook? Or tie up his jaws with a cord?
2 Mahisy tady zozoro amin’ ny orony va ianao, na mahaboroaka ny valanoranony amin’ ny fintana?
Can you put a rope into his nose, or pierce his jaw through with a hook?
3 Hifon-jato amin’ arivo aminao va izy, na hanao teny malefaka aminao?
Will he make many pleas to you? Will he speak soft words to you?
4 Hanao fanekena aminao va izy? Azonao alaina ho andevonao mandrakizay va izy?
Will he make a covenant with you, that you should take him for a servant forever?
5 Hilalao azy tahaka ny filalao voron-kely va ianao? Ary hamatotra azy ho an’ ny zazavavy ao aminao va ianao?
Will you play with him as you would with a bird? Will you tie him up for your servant girls?
6 Hataon’ ny mpaka hazandrano varotra va izy, ka hotsinjarainy amin’ ny mpandranto?
Will the groups of fishermen bargain for him? Will they divide him up to trade among the merchants?
7 Mahafeno lefom-pohy ny hodiny va ianao, na firombaka amin’ ny lohany?
Can you fill his hide with harpoons or his head with fishing spears?
8 Atehefo aminy ange ny tananao; Raha tsaroanao ny ady, dia tsy hanindroa intsony ianao.
Put your hand on him just once, and you will remember the battle and do it no more.
9 Indro, foana ny fihendrena azy; Tsy mahakivy va na dia ny fijery azy aza?
See, the hope of anyone who does that is a lie; will not anyone be thrown down to the ground just by the sight of him?
10 Tsy misy sahy manao vi-very hanaitra azy; Koa iza kosa no mahajanona eo anatrehako?
None is so fierce that he dare stir Leviathan up; who, then, is he who can stand before me?
11 Iza no nanome Ahy aloha mba hamaliako azy? Ny eny ambanin’ ny lanitra rehetra dia Ahy avokoa.
Who has first given anything to me in order that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole sky is mine.
12 Tsy mbola hangina Aho ny amin’ ny momba ny tenany sy ny heriny ary ny fahatsaran’ ny endriny.
I will not keep silent concerning Leviathan's legs, nor about the matter of his strength, nor about his graceful form.
13 Iza no mahasonga ny fitafiany anoloany? Na iza no sahy hiditra ao amin’ ny nifiny roa sosona?
Who can strip off his outer covering? Who can penetrate his double armor?
14 Iza no mahasokatra ny varavaran’ ny tavany? Mahatsiravina ny nifiny manodidina!
Who can open the doors of his face— ringed with his teeth, which are a terror?
15 Reharehany ny faharaoraon’ ny kirany, mihidy avokoa toy ny voapetaka mafy amin’ ny tombo-kase ireo;
his back is made up of rows of shields, tight together as with a close seal.
16 Mikirindro ireo, ka tsy azon’ ny rivotra idirana eo anelanelany.
One is so near to another that no air can come between them.
17 Mifanindry lany ireo sady mifaniditra ka tsy azo sarahina,
They are joined to each other; they stick together, so that they cannot be pulled apart.
18 Ny fieviny dia mampamirapiratra fahazavana, ary ny masony dia tahaka ny hodimason’ ny maraina.
Light flashes out from his snorting; his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning dawn.
19 Lelafo no mivoaka avy amin’ ny vavany; Kilalaon’ afo no mipariaka avy aminy.
Out of his mouth go burning torches, sparks of fire leap out.
20 Ny vavorony dia ivoahan’ ny setroka, tahaka ny avy amin’ ny vilany mangotraka, na amin’ ny fahandroana.
Out of his nostrils goes smoke like a boiling pot on a fire that has been fanned to be very hot.
21 Ny fofonainy mampirehitra arina, ary misy lelafo mivoaka avy amin’ ny vavany.
His breath kindles coals into flame; fires go out from his mouth.
22 Ny vozony no itoeran’ ny hery; Ary mibitaka eo alohany ny fampahatahorana.
In his neck is strength, and terror dances in front of him.
23 Mivalombalona ny hotraka amin’ ny tenany; Mafy ireny ka tsy azo endahana.
The folds of his flesh are joined together; they are firm on him; they cannot be moved.
24 Mafy tahaka ny vato ny fony; Eny, mafy tahaka ny vato fikosoham-bary.
His heart is as hard as a stone— indeed, as hard as a lower millstone.
25 Raha mitsangana izy, dia raiki-tahotra ny mahery; Eny, toran-kovitra ireo ka tsy mahavoa.
When he raises himself up, even the gods become afraid; because of fear, they draw back.
26 Raha misy mamely azy amin’ ny sabatra dia tsy mahalaitra, na amin’ ny lefom-pohy, na ny firombaka, na ny zana-tsipìka.
If a sword strikes him, it does nothing— and neither does a spear, an arrow, or any other pointed weapon.
27 Ataony toy ny mololo ny vy, ary toy ny hazo momoka ny varahina.
He thinks of iron as if it were straw, and of bronze as if it were rotten wood.
28 Tsy mampandositra azy ny zana-tsipìka; Ataony ho toy ny vodivary ny vaton’ antsamotady.
An arrow cannot make him flee; to him sling stones become chaff.
29 Ataony ho toy ny vodivary koa ny langilangy; Ihomehezany ny fanetsehana ny lefona.
Clubs are regarded as straw; he laughs at the whirring flight of a spear.
30 Ny takibany dia tahaka ny tavim-bilany maranitra; Mamelatra fivelezam-bary maranitra eo amin’ ny fotaka izy.
His lower parts are like sharp pieces of broken pottery; he leaves a spreading trail in the mud as if he were a threshing sledge.
31 Mampandevy ny lalina ho tahaka ny ao am-bilany izy; Manao ny ranomasina ho tahaka ny vilany misy menaka manitra izy.
He makes the deep to foam up like a pot of boiling water; he makes the sea like a pot of ointment.
32 Mampahazava ny lalany eo aoriany izy. Ataon’ ny olona ho toy ny volo fotsy ny lalina.
He makes a shining wake behind him; one would think the deep had gray hair.
33 Tsy misy tahaka azy eny ambonin’ ny tany, izay voaforona tsy hahalala tahotra.
On earth there is no equal to him, who has been made to live without fear.
34 Ny avo rehetra jereny avokoa; Mpanjakan’ ny bibi-dia rehetra izy
He sees everything that is proud; he is king over all the sons of pride.”
