< Isaia 40 >
1 Ampionony, ampionony ny oloko, Hoy Andriamanitrareo;
“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
2 Mitoria teny soa mahafaly amin’ i Jerosalema, ka lazao aminy fa vita ny adiny, sady voavela ny helony, ary efa nandray indroa heny tamin’ ny tànan’ i Jehovah izy ho valin’ ny fahotana rehetra nataony.
“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem; and proclaim to her that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received double from Yahweh's hand for all her sins.”
3 Injany! misy feon’ ny miantso hoe: Manamboara lalana any an-efitra ho an’ i Jehovah, manaova lalambe any an-tany foana ho an’ Andriamanitsika.
A voice cries out, “In the wilderness prepare the way of Yahweh; make straight in the Arabah a highway for our God.”
4 Aoka hasandratra ny lohasaha rehetra, Aoka haetry ny tendrombohitra sy ny havoana rehetra; Aoka ny be havoana ho tonga lembalemba, ary ny tany saro-dalana ho tonga lemaka;
Every valley will be lifted up, and every mountain and hill will be leveled; and the rugged land will be made level, and the rough places a plain;
5 Dia hiseho ny voninahitr’ i Jehovah, ary ny nofo rehetra hiara-mahita izany; Fa ny vavan’ i Jehovah no efa niteny.
and the glory of Yahweh will be revealed, and all people will see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.
6 Injany! misy miteny hoe: Miantsoa. Ary hoy izy: Ahoana anefa no antso hataoko? Ahitra ny nofo rehetra, ary ny hatsaran-tarehiny rehetra dia tahaka ny vonin-javatra any an-tsaha;
A voice says, “Cry.” Another answers, “What should I cry?” “All flesh is grass, and all their covenant faithfulness is like the flower of the field.
7 Maina ny ahitra, malazo ny voniny, satria tsofin’ ny fofonain’ i Jehovah ireny; Eny, ahitra tokoa ny olona.
The grass withers and the flower wilts when the breath of Yahweh blows on it; surely humanity is grass.
8 Maina ny ahitra, malazo ny voniny; Fa ny tenin’ Andriamanitsika dia haharitra mandrakizay.
The grass withers, the flower wilts, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
9 Ry Ziona, izay mitondra teny soa mahafaly ô, miakara any an-tendrombohitra avo; Ry Jerosalema izay mitondra teny soa mahafaly ô, Asandrato mafy ny feonao, asandrato, fa aza matahotra; Lazao amin’ ny tanànan’ ny Joda hoe. Indro Andriamanitrareo!
Go up on a high mountain, Zion, bearer of good news. Shout out loud, Jerusalem. You who bring good news, raise your voice, do not be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
10 Indro, Jehovah Tompo ho avy amin’ ny heriny, ka ny sandriny ihany no hanapaka; indro, ny valim-pitia hatolony dia eny aminy, ary ny valin’ asa homeny dia eo anoloany.
Look, the Lord Yahweh comes as a victorious warrior, and his strong arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and those he has rescued go before him.
11 Hiandry ny ondriny tahaka ny mpiandry ondry Izy; Ny sandriny no hanangonany ny zanak’ ondry, ka hotrotroiny eo an-tratrany ireny, ary horoahiny miadana ny ampianahany.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather in his arm the lambs, and carry them close to his heart, and will gently lead the ewes nursing their young.
12 Iza no namatra ny rano teo am-pelatanany, ary nanjehy ny lanitra tamin’ ny zehiny, sy namory ny vovo-tany tamin’ ny vata, ary nandanja ny tendrombohitra tamin’ ny fandanjana sy ny havoana tamin’ ny mizana?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, measured the sky with the span of his hand, held the dust of the earth in a basket, weighed the mountains in scales, or the hills in a balance?
13 Iza no nanome hevitra ny Fanahin’ i Jehovah, ary iza no mpanolo-tsaina nampianatra Azy?
Who has comprehended the mind of Yahweh, or instructed him as his counselor?
14 Iza no nidinihany ka nanome saina Azy sy nanoro Azy ny lalan’ ny fitsarana ary nampianatra fahalalana Azy sy nampahafantatra Azy ny lalan’ ny fahendrena?
From whom did he ever receive instruction? Who taught him the correct way to do things, and taught him knowledge, or showed to him the way of understanding?
15 Indro, ny firenena dia tahaka ny rano indray mitete avy amin’ ny siny ary atao ho tahaka ny vovoka madinika amin’ ny mizana; Indro, ny nosy dia tsintsininy tahaka ny zavatra bitika indrindra.
Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded like the dust on the scales; see, he weighs the isles as a speck.
16 Ary Libanona aza tsy ampy hataina, ary ny biby ao tsy ampy ho fanatitra dorana.
Lebanon is not sufficient fuel, nor its wild animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Ny firenena rehetra dia tahaka ny tsinontsinona eo anatrehany, ka ataony ho naman’ ny tsinontsinona sy ny zava-poana izy.
All the nations are insufficient before him; they are regarded by him as nothing.
18 Koa ampitovinareo amin’ iza moa Andriamanitra? Ary endrik’ inona no ampanahafinareo Azy?
To whom then will you compare God? To what idol will you liken him?
19 Ny mpiasa manao sarin-javatra an-idina, ary ny mpanefy volamena mametaka takela-bolamena aminy sy manao tongalika volafotsy an-idina.
An idol! A craftsman casts it: The goldsmith overlays it with gold and forges silver chains for it.
20 Izay malahelo ka tsy manan-katerina dia mifidy hazo tsy mety ho lò ary mitady mpiasa mahay zavatra mba hamorona sarin-javatra voasokitra izay tsy hihezongozona.
To make an offering one chooses a wood that will not rot; he seeks a skillful artisan to make an idol that will not fall over.
21 Tsy fantatrareo va? Tsy efa renareo va? Tsy efa nambara taminareo fony taloha va? Tsy efa azonareo an-tsaina va ny amin’ ny fanorenan’ ny tany?
Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 Izy no mipetraka amin’ ny habakabaka ambonin’ ny tany, ary ny mponina etỳ dia tahaka ny valala; Izy no mamelatra ny lanitra tahaka ny lamba manify kararavina ary manenjana azy tahaka ny lay hitoerana;
He is the one who sits above the horizon of the earth; and the inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out as a tent to live in.
23 Izy no mahatsinontsinona ny mpanapaka sy mahatonga ny mpitsara amin’ ny tany ho tahaka ny zava-poana.
He reduces rulers to nothing and makes the rulers of the earth insignificant.
24 Vao nambolena vetivety ireo, vao nafafy ireo, vao namaka tao amin’ ny tany ny fotony, dia notsofin’ Andriamanitra ireo, ka dia nalazo, ary nindaosin’ ny tafio-drivotra tahaka ny vodivary izy.
They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem has barely taken root in the earth, when he blows upon them and they wither, and the wind carries them away like straw.
25 Koa ampitovinareo amin’ iza moa Aho, hitahako aminy? Hoy ny Iray Masìna.
“To whom then will you compare me, whom do I resemble?” says the Holy One.
26 Asandrato ny masonareo, ka mijere; Iza no nahary ireny? Izy no mamoaka ny antokony araka ny isany sy miantso azy rehetra amin’ ny anarany avy noho ny haben’ ny fahatanjahany sy ny heriny tsy toha, ka tsy misy diso ireny na dia iray akory aza.
Look up at the sky! Who has created all these stars? He leads out their formations and calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might and by the strength of his power, not one is missing.
27 Nahoana no miteny ianao, ry Jakoba ô, ary milaza ianao, ry Isiraely ô, hoe: Miafina tsy hitan’ i Jehovah ny lalako, ary mihelina tsy hitan’ Andriamanitro ny rariny tokony ho ahy?
Why do you say, Jacob, and declare, Israel, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and my God is not concerned about my vindication”?
28 Tsy fantatrao va? Tsy efa renao va fa Andriamanitra mandrakizay Jehovah, izay namorona ny faran’ ny tany? Tsy mba mety ho reraka na sasatra Izy; Tsy takatry ny saina ny fahalalany.
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not get tired or weary; there is no limit to his understanding.
29 Mampahatanjaka ny reraka Izy, ary izay kely hery dia omeny hery be.
He gives strength to the tired; and to the weak he gives renewed energy.
30 Na dia ny tanora fanahy aza dia ho reraka sy ho sasatra, ary na dia ny zatovo aza dia mety ho tafintohina mafy;
Even young people become tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall:
31 Fa izay miandry an’ i Jehovah dia mandroso hery kosa; Elatra no hiakarany tahaka ny voromahery; Hihazakazaka izy, nefa tsy ho sasatra; Handeha izy, nefa tsy ho reraka.
but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength; they will soar with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint.
