1 Ya Mukulu wa Bayimbi. Ku ddoboozi, “Amalanga g’Endagaano.” Zabbuli ya Asafu. Wulira, Ayi Omusumba wa Isirayiri; ggwe akulembera Yusufu ng’alunda ekisibo kyo; ggwe atudde ku ntebe ey’obwakabaka mu bakerubi, twakire.
To the Overseer. — 'On the Lilies.' A testimony of Asaph. — A Psalm. Shepherd of Israel, give ear, Leading Joseph as a flock, Inhabiting the cherubs — shine forth,
2 Amaanyi go galabike mu Efulayimu, ne mu Benyamini ne mu Manase, ojje otulokole.
Before Ephraim, and Benjamin, and Manasseh, Wake up Thy might, and come for our salvation.
3 Tukomyewo gy’oli, Ayi Katonda, otutunuulize amaaso ag’ekisa, otulokole.
O God, cause us to turn back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
4 Ayi Katonda, Mukama ow’Eggye, olituusa ddi okusunguwalira okusaba kw’abantu bo?
Jehovah, God of Hosts, till when? Thou hast burned against the prayer of Thy people.
5 Wabaliisa emmere ejjudde amaziga; n’obanywesa ebikopo by’amaziga musera.
Thou hast caused them to eat bread of tears, And causest them to drink With tears a third time.
6 Otufudde eky’okusekererwa mu baliraanwa baffe, n’abalabe baffe ne batuduulira.
Thou makest us a strife to our neighbours, And our enemies mock at it.
7 Tukomyewo gy’oli, Ayi Mukama ow’Eggye, otutunuulize amaaso go ag’ekisa, tulokolebwe.
God of Hosts, turn us back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
8 Waleeta omuzabbibu ng’oguggya mu Misiri; n’ogobamu amawanga agaali mu nsi muno n’ogusimba.
A vine out of Egypt Thou dost bring, Thou dost cast out nations, and plantest it.
9 Wagulongooseza ettaka, ne gumera, emirandira ne ginywera bulungi, ne gwagaagala mu nsi.
Thou hast looked before it, and dost root it, And it filleth the land,
10 Ekisiikirize kyagwo ne kibikka ensozi, n’amatabi gaagwo ne gaba ng’emivule egy’amaanyi.
Covered have been hills [with] its shadow, And its boughs [are] cedars of God.
11 Amatabi gaagwo ne gatuuka ku Nnyanja eya Wakati n’amatabi g’ennyanja gaayo ne gatuuka ku Mugga Fulaati.
It sendeth forth its branches unto the sea, And unto the river its sucklings.
12 Kale wamenyera ki ebisenge byagwo, abayitawo bonna ne beenogera ebibala byagwo?
Why hast Thou broken down its hedges, And all passing by the way have plucked it?
13 Embizzi ez’omu kibira zigwonoona, na buli nsolo ey’omu nsiko egulya.
A boar out of the forest doth waste it, And a wild beast of the fields consumeth it.
14 Tukyukire, Ayi Katonda ow’Eggye, otunuulire ensi ng’osinziira mu ggulu; olabirire omuzabbibu guno.
God of Hosts, turn back, we beseech Thee, Look from heaven, and see, and inspect this vine,
15 Gwe wagwesimbira n’omukono gwo ogwa ddyo, era ggwe weerondera omwana wo.
And the root that Thy right hand planted, And the branch Thou madest strong for Thee,
16 Bagutemye, ne bagwokya omuliro; abakoze ekyo banenye mu bukambwe, obazikirize.
Burnt with fire — cut down, From the rebuke of Thy face they perish.
17 Naye muwe amaanyi omusajja oyo gw’oyagala era omwana oyo gwe weerondera.
Let Thy hand be on the man of Thy right hand, On the son of man Thou hast strengthened for Thyself.
18 Bwe tutyo tuleme okukuvaako, n’okukukuba amabega. Otuzzeemu amaanyi, naffe tunaakoowoolanga erinnya lyo.
And we do not go back from Thee, Thou dost revive us, and in Thy name we call.
19 Otukomyewo gy’oli, Ayi Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye, otutunuulize amaaso go ag’ekisa, tulyoke tulokolebwe.
O Jehovah, God of Hosts, turn us back, Cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved!
