1 Awo Birudaadi Omusukusi n’addamu n’agamba nti,
Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
2 “Onookoma ddi okwogera ebintu bino? Era ebigambo bino by’oyogera n’akamwa ko binaakoma ddi okuba ng’empewo ey’amaanyi?
“How long will you say these things? How long will the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?
3 Katonda akyusakyusa mu nsala ye? Oba oyo Ayinzabyonna akyusakyusa amazima?
Does God pervert justice? Does the Almighty pervert righteousness?
4 Abaana bo bwe baayonoona eri Mukama, n’abawaayo eri empeera y’ekibi kyabwe.
Your children have sinned against him; we know this, for he gave them into the hand of their sins.
5 Kyokka bw’onoonoonya Katonda, ne weegayirira oyo Ayinzabyonna,
But suppose you diligently sought God and presented your request to the Almighty.
6 bw’onooba omulongoofu era ow’amazima, ddala ddala anaakuddiramu n’akuzzaayo mu kifo kyo ekituufu.
If you are pure and upright, then he would surely stir himself on your behalf and restore you to your rightful place.
7 Wadde ng’entandikwa yo yali ntono, embeera yo ey’enkomerero ejja kuba nnungi ddala.
Even though your beginning was small, still your final condition would be much greater.
8 Buuza ku mirembe egy’edda, era onoonyereze ku bakitaabwe bye baayiga;
Please ask the former generations, and give your attention to what our ancestors learned.
9 kubanga ffe twazaalibwa jjuuzi era tetulina kye tumanyi, era ne nnaku ze twakamala ku nsi ziri ng’ekisiikirize.
(We were only born yesterday and know nothing because our days on earth are a shadow).
10 Tebaakulage bakumanyise era bakutegeeze ebigambo bye mitima gyabwe oba by’okutegeera kwabwe?
Will they not teach you and tell you? Will they not speak words from their hearts?
11 Ebitoogo biyinza okumera awatali bitosi?
Can papyrus grow without a marsh? Can reeds grow without water?
12 Biba bikyakula nga tebinnasalibwa, bikala mangu okusinga omuddo.
While they are still green and not cut down, they wither before any other plant.
13 Bw’etyo enkomerero bw’ebeera ey’abo bonna abeerabira Katonda, essuubi ly’abatatya Katonda bwe libula.
So also are the paths of all who forget God; the hope of the godless will perish.
14 Ebyo bye yeesiga byatika mangu, ebyo bye yeesiga, nnyumba ya nnabbubi!
His confidence will break apart, and his trust is as weak as a spider's web.
15 Yeesigama wuzi za nnabbubi ne zikutuka azeekwatako nnyo naye ne zitanywera.
He leans on his house, but it will not support him; he takes hold of it, but it does not stand.
16 Ali ng’ekimera ekifukirire obulungi ekiri mu musana, nga kyanjadde amatabi gaakyo mu nnimiro;
Under the sun he is green, and his shoots go out over his entire garden.
17 emirandira gyakyo nga gyezingiridde, okwetooloola entuumu y’amayinja, nga ginoonya ekifo mu mayinja.
His roots are wrapped about the heaps of stone; they look for good places among the rocks.
18 Naye bwe bakiggya mu kifo kyakyo, ekifo ekyo kikyegaana ne kigamba nti, Sikulabangako.
But if this person is destroyed out of his place, then that place will deny him and say, 'I never saw you.'
19 Mazima ddala essanyu lyakyo liggwaawo, ebirime ebirala ne bikula okuva mu ttaka.
See, this is the “joy” of such a person's behavior; other plants will sprout out of the same soil in his place.
20 Mazima ddala Katonda talekerera muntu ataliiko musango, era tanyweza mukono gw’abakola ebibi.
See, God will not cast away an innocent man; neither will he take the hand of evildoers.
21 Ajja kuddamu ajjuze akamwa ko enseko, n’emimwa gyo amaloboozi ag’essanyu.
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.
22 Abalabe bo balijjula obuswavu, era n’ennyumba z’abakozi b’ebibi zirimalibwawo.”
Those who hate you will be clothed with shame; the tent of the wicked will be no more.”
