< Yobu 30 >

1 “Naye kaakano bansekerera; abantu abansinga obuto, bakitaabwe be nnandibadde nteeka wamu n’embwa ezikuuma endiga zange.
And now, laughed at me, Have the younger in days than I, Whose fathers I have loathed to set With the dogs of my flock.
2 Amaanyi g’emikono gyabwe gaali gangasa ki? Abantu abaali baweddemu amaanyi ag’obuvubuka bwabwe,
Also — the power of their hands, why [is it] to me? On them hath old age perished.
3 abakoozimbye abaali mu bwetaavu era abayala, bameketa ettaka ekkalu mu nsi enjereere mu budde obw’ekiro.
With want and with famine gloomy, Those fleeing to a dry place, Formerly a desolation and waste,
4 Banoga ebiragala ebiwoomerera ng’omunnyo mu bisaka, enkolokolo ez’omwoloola y’emmere yaabwe.
Those cropping mallows near a shrub, And broom-roots [is] their food.
5 Baagobebwa bave mu bantu bannaabwe, ne babaleekaanira gy’obeera nti, baali babbi.
From the midst they are cast out, (They shout against them as a thief),
6 Baawalirizibwa okubeera mu migga egyakalira, mu njazi ne mu binnya wansi mu ttaka.
In a frightful place of valleys to dwell, Holes of earth and clefts.
7 Baakaabira mu bisaka ng’ensolo ne beekweka mu bikoola by’emiti.
Among shrubs they do groan, Under nettles they are gathered together.
8 Ezzadde ly’abasirusiru abatalina bwe bayitibwa, baagobebwa mu nsi.
Sons of folly — even sons without name, They have been smitten from the land.
9 Naye kaakano abaana baabwe bansekerera nga bannyimba; nfuuse ekyenyinyalwa gye bali,
And now, their song I have been, And I am to them for a byword.
10 abatanjagala abanneesalako, banguwa okunfujjira amalusu mu maaso.
They have abominated me, They have kept far from me, And from before me have not spared to spit.
11 Kaakano Katonda nga bw’atagguludde akasaale kange, ammazeemu amaanyi; beeyisizza nga bwe balaba mu maaso gange.
Because His cord He loosed and afflicteth me, And the bridle from before me, They have cast away.
12 Abantu bano bannumba ku mukono gwange ogwa ddyo; bategera ebigere byange emitego, ne baziba amakubo banzikirize.
On the right hand doth a brood arise, My feet they have cast away, And they raise up against me, Their paths of calamity.
13 Banzingiza ne banzikiriza, nga tewali n’omu abayambye.
They have broken down my path, By my calamity they profit, 'He hath no helper.'
14 Banzingiza ng’abayita mu kituli ekigazi, bayingira nga bayita mu muwaatwa.
As a wide breach they come, Under the desolation have rolled themselves.
15 Nnumbiddwa ebitiisa eby’amaanyi; ekitiibwa kyange kifuumuuse ng’ekifuuyiddwa empewo, era n’obukuumi bwange ne bubulawo ng’ekire.”
He hath turned against me terrors, It pursueth as the wind mine abundance, And as a thick cloud, Hath my safety passed away.
16 “Era kaakano obulamu bwange buseebengerera buggwaawo, ennaku ez’okubonaabona zinzijjidde.
And now, in me my soul poureth itself out, Seize me do days of affliction.
17 Ekiro kifumita amagumba gange era obulumi bwe nnina tebukoma.
At night my bone hath been pierced in me, And mine eyelids do not lie down.
18 Mu maanyi ge amangi Katonda abeera ng’olugoye lwe nneebikka, n’ensibibwa ng’ekitogi ky’ekyambalo kyange.
By the abundance of power, Is my clothing changed, As the mouth of my coat it doth gird me.
19 Ansuula mu bitosi, ne nfuuka ng’enfuufu n’evvu.
Casting me into mire, And I am become like dust and ashes.
20 “Nkukaabirira nti, Ayi Katonda, naye toddamu; nnyimirira, naye ontunuulira butunuulizi.
I cry unto Thee, And Thou dost not answer me, I have stood, and Thou dost consider me.
21 Onkyukira n’obusungu; onnumba n’omukono gwo ogw’amaanyi.
Thou art turned to be fierce to me, With the strength of Thy hand, Thou oppressest me.
22 Onsitula mu bbanga n’ongobesa empewo, n’onziza eno n’eri mu muyaga.
Thou dost lift me up, On the wind Thou dost cause me to ride, And Thou meltest — Thou levellest me.
23 Mmanyi nga olintuusa mu kufa, mu kifo kye wateekerawo abalamu bonna.
For I have known To death Thou dost bring me back, And [to] the house appointed for all living.
24 “Ddala tewali ayamba muntu anyigirizibwa ng’akaaba mu kunyigirizibwa kwe.
Surely not against the heap Doth He send forth the hand, Though in its ruin they have safety.
25 Saakaabira abo abaali mu buzibu? Emmeeme yange teyalumirirwa abaavu?
Did not I weep for him whose day is hard? Grieved hath my soul for the needy.
26 Naye bwe nanoonya obulungi, ekibi kye kyajja; bwe nanoonya ekitangaala, ekizikiza kye kyajja.
When good I expected, then cometh evil, And I wait for light, and darkness cometh.
27 Olubuto lwange lutokota, terusirika; ennaku ez’okubonaabona kwange zinjolekedde.
My bowels have boiled, and have not ceased, Gone before me have days of affliction.
28 Nzenna ŋŋenda nzirugala naye si lwa kwokebwa musana; nnyimirira mu lukuŋŋaana, ne nsaba obuyambi.
Mourning I have gone without the sun, I have risen, in an assembly I cry.
29 Nfuuse muganda w’ebibe, munne w’ebiwuugulu.
A brother I have been to dragons, And a companion to daughters of the ostrich.
30 Olususu lwange luddugadde, era lususumbuka; n’omubiri gwange gwokerera.
My skin hath been black upon me, And my bone hath burned from heat,
31 Ettendo lyange lifuuseemu kukaaba n’akalere kange ne kavaamu eddoboozi ery’ebiwoobe.”
And my harp doth become mourning, And my organ the sound of weeping.
