< Yobu 29 >

1 Yobu n’ayongera okwogera nti,
Job also added, taking up his parable, and said:
2 “Nga nneegomba emyezi egyayita, ennaku Katonda mwe yali nga y’andabirira,
Who will grant me, that I might be according to the months past, according to the days in which God kept me?
3 ettaala ye bwe yayakiranga omutwe gwange, n’ekitangaala kye bwe kyanjakiranga nga ntambulira mu kizikiza.
When his lamp shined over my head, and I walked by his light in darkness?
4 Mu biro we nabeerera ow’amaanyi, omukwano gwa Katonda omuyitirivu nga gukuuma amaka gange,
As I was in the days of my youth, when God was secretly in my tabernacle?
5 Ayinzabyonna bwe yali ng’akyali nange n’abaana bange nga bakyanneetoolodde,
When the Almighty was with me: and my servants round about me?
6 n’ekkubo lyange nga lisiigiddwa omuzigo n’olwazi nga lunfukirira omugga ogw’amafuta.
When I washed my feet with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil?
7 “Bwe nalaganga ku mulyango gw’ekibuga ne ntuula ku ntebe mu kifo we baakubiranga enkiiko,
When I went out to the gate of the city, and in the street they prepared me a chair?
8 abavubuka abato bandabanga ne badda ebbali, abakadde ne basituka ne bayimirira;
The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the old men rose up and stood.
9 abakungu ab’oku ntikko ne balekeraawo okwogera, ne bakwata ne ku mimwa;
The princes ceased to speak, and laid the finger on their mouth.
10 ab’ebitiibwa ne balekeraawo okwogera, ennimi zaabwe ne zeesibira waggulu mu kamwa.
The rulers held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to their throat.
11 Buli kutu okwampuliranga nga kwesiima, era n’abo abandabanga nga basiima
The ear that heard me blessed me, and the eye that saw me gave witness to me:
12 kubanga nawonyanga abaavu abaakaabiranga obuyambi, n’abatalina bakitaabwe abatalina abayamba.
Because I had delivered the poor man that cried out; and the fatherless that had no helper.
13 Omusajja ng’afa, y’ansabira omukisa, ne ndeetera omutima gwa nnamwandu okuyimba.
The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me, and I comforted the heart of the widow.
14 Ne nnyambala obutuukirivu ng’engoye zange, obwenkanya bwe bwali omunagiro gwange era ekitambala kye neesiba ku mutwe.
I was clad with justice: and I clothed myself with my judgment, as with a robe and a diadem.
15 Nnali maaso g’abamuzibe era ebigere by’abalema.
I was an eye to the blind, and a foot to the lame.
16 Nnali kitaawe w’abanaku, ne nneyama okuwolereza besimanyiiko.
I was the father of the poor: and the cause which I knew not, I searched out most diligently.
17 Namenyanga amannyo g’abakozi b’ebibi, ne nziggya mu kamwa kaabwe, be baali bakutte.
I broke the jaws of the wicked man, and out of his teeth I took away the prey.
18 “Nalowooza nti, ‘Ndifiira mu nnyumba yange nga mpezezza ennaku zange nga nnyingi ng’omusenyu ogw’oku nnyanja.
And I said: I shall die in my nest, and as a palm tree shall multiply my days.
19 Omulandira gwange gulituuka mu mazzi, era n’omusulo gulibeera ku ttabi lyange okukeesa obudde.
My root is opened beside the waters, and dew shall continue in my harvest.
20 Ekitiibwa kyange tekirikaddiwa mu nze, n’omutego gwange ogw’akasaale gusigale nga tegukaddiye mu mukono gwange.’
My glory shall always be renewed, and my bow in my hand shall be repaired.
21 “Abantu beesunganga okumpuliriza, nga balindirira mu kasirise amagezi gange.
They that heard me, waited for my sentence, and being attentive held their peace at my counsel.
22 Bwe namalanga okwogera, nga tewaba addayo kwogera, ebigambo byange byagwanga mpola mpola mu matu gaabwe.
To my words they durst add nothing, and my speech dropped upon them.
23 Bannindiriranga ng’enkuba ne banywa ebigambo byange ng’enkuba eya ttoggo.
They waited for me as for rain, and they opened their mouth as for a latter shower.
24 Bwe nabamwenyeranga nga tebakikkiriza; ekitangaala ky’oku maaso gange kyali kya muwendo gye bali.
If at any time I laughed on them, they believed not, and the light of my countenance fell not on earth.
25 Nabasalirangawo eky’okukola, ne ntuula nga kabaka n’amaggye ge; nnali ng’abo ababeesabeesa abakungubazi.”
If I had a mind to go to them, I sat first, and when I sat as a king, with his army standing about him, yet I was a comforter of them that mourned.
