1 Nze Pawulo ne Sirwano ne Timoseewo, tuwandiikira Ekkanisa ey’Abasessaloniika, abantu ba Katonda Kitaffe ne Mukama waffe Yesu Kristo, ekisa n’emirembe bibeerenga gye muli.

Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians [which is] in God the Father, and [in] the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace [be] to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Bulijjo twebaza Katonda ku lwammwe mwenna era tubasabira obutayosa,

We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

3 nga tujjukira omulimu gwammwe ogw’okukkiriza, n’okufuba okw’okwagala n’okugumiikiriza okw’essuubi mu Mukama waffe Yesu Kristo mu maaso ga Katonda era Kitaffe,

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

4 era nga tumanyi, nga mmwe abooluganda muli mikwano gya Katonda, baayagala ennyo, be yalonda.

Knowing, brethren beloved by God, your election.

5 Kubanga Enjiri yaffe teyajja gye muli mu kigambo kyokka, wabula ne mu maanyi, ne mu Mwoyo Omutukuvu, ne mu bukakafu obungi, era nga bwe mumanyi nga twabeeranga wakati mu mmwe ku lwammwe.

For our gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

6 Nammwe mwagoberera Mukama waffe era ne mukola nga bwe twakolanga bwe mwakkiriza ekigambo wakati mu kubonaabona okungi nga mulina essanyu eriva mu Mwoyo Omutukuvu,

And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit:

7 ne mubeera ekyokulabirako eri abakkiriza bonna ab’omu Makedoniya ne Akaya.

So that ye were examples to all that believe, in Macedonia and Achaia.

8 Kubanga ekigambo kya Mukama kibunye okuva mu mmwe, si mu Makedoniya ne mu Akaya mwokka, naye ne mu buli kifo n’okukkiriza kwammwe eri Katonda kwabuna ne tutabaako kye tukwogerera.

For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

9 Kubanga bo bennyini batubuulira engeri gye mwatwanirizaamu, ne bwe mwakyuka okuleka bakatonda abalala ne mudda eri Katonda omulamu era ow’amazima,

For they themselves show of us what manner of entrance we had to you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God;

10 era ne bwe mulindiridde Omwana wa Katonda, okukomawo okuva mu ggulu, gwe yazuukiza okuva mu bafu, ye Yesu oyo yekka atulokola okutuwonya mu busungu bwa Katonda obugenda okujja.

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come.
