The crowd responded to him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever, so how can yoʋ say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”
And I know that his commandment leads to eternal life. What I speak, therefore, I speak just as the Father has told me.” (aiōnios )
Dicit ei Petrus: Non lavabis mihi pedes in aeternum. Respondit ei Iesus: Si non lavero te, non habebis partem mecum. (aiōn )
Peter said to him, “Yoʋ shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash yoʋ, yoʋ have no part with me.”
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper to abide with you forever— (aiōn )
Sicut dedisti ei potestatem omnis carnis, ut omne, quod dedisti ei, det eis vitam aeternam. (aiōnios )
just as yoʋ have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to everyone yoʋ have given him.
This is eternal life, that they may know yoʋ, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom yoʋ have sent.
For yoʋ will not abandon my soul to Hades, nor will yoʋ let yoʋr Holy One see corruption.
David foresaw what would happen and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, saying that his soul was not abandoned to Hades and that his flesh did not see corruption. (Hadēs )
quem oportet quidem caelum suscipere usque in tempora restitutionis omnium, quae locutus est Deus per os sanctorum suorum a saeculo Prophetarum. (aiōn )
Heaven must receive him until the time comes for the restoration of all things, which God declared by the mouths of all his holy prophets long ago.
But Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly, saying, “It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken first to you. But since you are rejecting it and do not judge yourselves to be worthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.
When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and all who were appointed to eternal life believed. (aiōnios )
Notum a saeculo est Domino opus suum. (aiōn )
All God's works are known to him from long ago.
For his invisible qualities, both his everlasting power and his divinity, have been plainly seen from the creation of the world, being perceived through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Amen. (aiōn )
because they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
To those who by patient endurance in good works seek glory, honor, and immortality, he will give eternal life; (aiōnios )
so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (aiōnios )
Nunc vero liberati a peccato, servi autem facti Deo, habetis fructum vestrum in sanctificationem, finem vero vitam aeternam. (aiōnios )
But now that you have been set free from sin and become slaves of God, you have fruit that leads to sanctification, and the end result is eternal life. (aiōnios )
Stipendia enim peccati, mors. Gratia autem Dei, vita aeterna, in Christo Iesu Domino nostro. (aiōnios )
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen. (aiōn )
To them belong the patriarchs, and from them, according to the flesh, came the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.
(Abyssos )
“or, ‘Who will go down into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). (Abyssos )
For God has confined all in disobedience so that he might have mercy on all.
Amen. (aiōn )
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.
Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may determine what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
Now to him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that has been kept silent since the world began (aiōnios )
but has now been revealed, and through the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all the Gentiles, according to the commandment of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— (aiōnios )
Amen. (aiōn )
to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ. Amen. (aiōn )
Ubi sapiens? ubi scriba? ubi conquisitor huius saeculi? Nonne stultam fecit Deus sapientiam huius mundi? (aiōn )
Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made the wisdom of this world foolish?
Now we speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are being brought to nothing.
On the contrary, we speak the hidden wisdom of God in a mystery, which God foreordained for our glory before time began.
None of the rulers of this age understood this wisdom, for if they had understood it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become foolish so that he may become truly wise. (aiōn )
Quapropter si esca scandalizat fratrem meum: non manducabo carnem in aeternum, ne fratrem meum scandalizem. (aiōn )
Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will certainly never eat meat, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble.
Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written down for our instruction, upon whom the end of the ages has come. (aiōn )
Ubi est mors victoria tua? ubi est mors stimulus tuus? (Hadēs )
“O Death, where is yoʋr sting? O Hades, where is yoʋr victory?”
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers like them, so that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, might not dawn upon them.
For our light and momentary affliction is bringing about for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all measure, (aiōnios )
as we look not to what is seen, but to what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not made by human hands.
As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.”
The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. (aiōn )
cui est gloria in saecula saeculorum: Amen. (aiōn )
To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
For he who sows to his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but he who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. (aiōn )
in quibus aliquando ambulastis secundum saeculum mundi huius, secundum principem potestatis aeris huius, spiritus, qui nunc operatur in filios diffidentiae, (aiōn )
in which you once walked when you followed the ways of this world and the ruler of the realm of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience. (aiōn )
ut ostenderet in saeculis supervenientibus abundantes divitias gratiae suae in bonitate super nos in Christo Iesu. (aiōn )
so that in the ages to come he might show the surpassing riches of his grace through his kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
and to bring to light for everyone the plan of the mystery that has been hidden for ages in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ. (aiōn )
secundum praefinitionem saeculorum, quam fecit in Christo Iesu Domino nostro: (aiōn )
according to the eternal purpose that God has carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōn )
Ipsi gloria in Ecclesia, et in Christo Iesu in omnes generationes saeculi saeculorum. Amen. (aiōn )
to him be glory in the church in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Glory be to our God and Father forever and ever! Amen.
the mystery that has been hidden for ages and generations but has now been revealed to his saints. (aiōn )
qui poenas dabunt in interitu aeternas a facie Domini, et a gloria virtutis eius: (aiōnios )
They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might, (aiōnios )
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by his grace, (aiōnios )
But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost sinner, Jesus Christ might show complete patience, making me an example for those who would come to believe in him for eternal life.
Amen. (aiōn )
Now to the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )
Certa bonum certamen fidei, apprehende vitam aeternam, in qua vocatus es, et confessus bonam confessionem coram multis testibus. (aiōnios )
Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which yoʋ were called and concerning which yoʋ made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or is able to see. To him be honor and eternal power. Amen.
Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty or to put their hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
He saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace. This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, (aiōnios )
Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the chosen, so that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
For Demas, who is in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn )
Liberavit me Dominus ab omni opere malo: et salvum faciet in regnum suum caeleste, cui gloria in saecula saeculorum. Amen. (aiōn )
And the Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and preserve me for his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before time began; (aiōnios )
instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly manner in the present age, (aiōn )
ut iustificati gratia ipsius, heredes simus secundum spem vitae aeternae. (aiōnios )
so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Perhaps the reason he was separated from yoʋ for an hour was so that yoʋ might have him back forever, (aiōnios )
whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. (aiōn )
Ad filium autem: Thronus tuus Deus in saeculum saeculi: virga aequitatis, virga regni tui. (aiōn )
but of the Son he says, “Yoʋr throne, O God, endures forever and ever; the scepter of yoʋr kingdom is a scepter of uprightness. (aiōn )
Quemadmodum et in alio loco dicit: Tu es sacerdos in aeternum, secundum ordinem Melchisedech. (aiōn )
And in another passage he says, “Yoʋ are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
And having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him (aiōnios )
and of instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. (aiōnios )
gustaverunt nihilominus bonum Dei verbum, virtutesque saeculi venturi, (aiōn )
who have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the coming age, (aiōn )
ubi praecursor pro nobis introivit Iesus, secundum ordinem Melchisedech pontifex factus in aeternum. (aiōn )
where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. (aiōn )
Contestatur enim: Quoniam tu es sacerdos in aeternum, secundum ordinem Melchisedech. (aiōn )
For God testifies, “Yoʋ are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
but Jesus was made a priest with an oath by the one who said to him, “The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, ‘Yoʋ are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.’”
but because Jesus continues forever, he has a permanent priesthood.
For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
he entered once for all into the holy places, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your consciences from dead works to serve the living God?
That is why he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.
for then he would have had to suffer again and again since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to remove sin by the sacrifice of himself.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed by the word of God. Consequently, we know that what can be seen did not come from anything visible. (aiōn )
Iesus Christus heri, et hodie: ipse et in saecula. (aiōn )
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Now may the God of peace, who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, (aiōnios )
Amen. (aiōn )
equip you in every good work so that you may do his will. May he accomplish in you what is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )
Et lingua ignis est, universitas iniquitatis. Lingua constituitur in membris nostris, quae maculat totum corpus, et inflammat rotam nativitatis nostrae inflammata a gehenna. (Geenna )
And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is placed among our members as a world of unrighteousness, staining the entire body, setting the course of life on fire, and itself being set on fire by hell. (Geenna )
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the word of God that lives and abides forever.
but the word of the Lord endures forever.” This word is the good news that was preached to you.
If anyone speaks, he should do so as one who speaks the oracles of God; if anyone serves, he should do so as one who serves from strength as God supplies it, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )
Deus autem omnis gratiae, qui vocavit nos in aeternam suam gloriam in Christo Iesu, modicum passos ipse perficiet, confirmabit, solidabitque. (aiōnios )
And after you have suffered for a little while, may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, himself perfect you; he will establish, strengthen, and settle you. (aiōnios )
Ipsi gloria, et imperium in saecula saeculorum: Amen. (aiōn )
To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )
Sic enim abundanter ministrabitur vobis introitus in aeternum regnum Domini nostri, et Salvatoris Iesu Christi. (aiōnios )
For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.
For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus and committed them to chains of darkness to be kept for judgment; (Tartaroō )
crescite vero in gratia, et in cognitione Domini nostri, et Salvatoris Iesu Christi. Ipsi gloria et nunc, et in diem aeternitatis. Amen. (aiōn )
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
This life was revealed; we have seen it, and we testify and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and that was revealed to us.
And the world is passing away along with its lusts, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
And this is what he has promised us—eternal life.
Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios )
Haec scribo vobis: ut sciatis quoniam vitam habetis aeternam, qui creditis in nomine Filii Dei. (aiōnios )
I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life, and so that you may continue believing in the name of the Son of God.
And we know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
because of the truth that abides in us and will be with us forever: (aiōn )
And the angels who did not keep within their proper domain, but left their own dwelling, he has kept under darkness in everlasting chains for the judgment of the great day.
Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, who indulged in fornication and went after strange flesh in a manner similar to those angels, serve as an example by undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. (aiōnios )
fluctus feri maris, despumantes suas confusiones, sidera errantia: quibus procella tenebrarum servata est in aeternum. (aiōn )
They are wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shameful deeds; wayward stars, for whom the thick gloom of darkness has been reserved forever. (aiōn )
vosmetipsos in dilectione Dei servate, expectantes misericordiam Domini nostri Iesu Christi in vitam aeternam. (aiōnios )
must keep yourselves in the love of God as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
Amen. (aiōn )
to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, power and authority, both now and forevermore. Amen. (aiōn )
et fecit nos regnum, et sacerdotes Deo et Patri suo: ipsi gloria, et imperium in saecula saeculorum: Amen. (aiōn )
and made us to be a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )
et vivus, et fui mortuus, et ecce sum vivens in saecula saeculorum, et habeo claves mortis, et inferni. (aiōn , Hadēs )
the living one. I was dead, but behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. I have the keys of Death and Hades.
And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, (aiōn )
procidebant vigintiquattuor seniores ante sedentem in throno, et adorabant viventem in saecula saeculorum, et mittebant coronas suas ante thronum dicentes: (aiōn )
the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne and say, (aiōn )
Then I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor, glory and power, forever and ever! Amen.”
And behold, there was a pale green horse! The name of its rider was Death, and Hades followed him. He was given authority over a fourth of the earth to kill by the sword, by famine and pestilence, and by the wild beasts of the earth. (Hadēs )
dicentes, Amen. Benedictio, et claritas, et sapientia, et gratiarum actio, honor, et virtus, et fortitudo Deo nostro in saecula saeculorum, Amen. (aiōn )
saying, “Amen! Blessing, glory, and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor, power and strength, be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”
(Abyssos )
The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from heaven to earth, and the star was given the key to the pit of the abyss. (Abyssos )
He opened the pit of the abyss, and from the pit rose smoke like the smoke of a burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the pit. (Abyssos )
et habebant super se regem angelum abyssi, cui nomen Hebraice Abaddon, Graece autem Apollyon, Latine habens nomen Exterminans. (Abyssos )
They have as king over them the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek his name is Apollyon. (Abyssos )
and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and everything in it, the earth and everything in it, and the sea and everything in it, and said that there would no longer be delay, (aiōn )
(Abyssos )
When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will wage war against them, and overpower and kill them. (Abyssos )
Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.”
Then I saw an angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.
And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.” (aiōn )
Et unum de quattuor animalibus dedit septem Angelis septem phialas aureas, plenas iracundiae Dei viventis in saecula saeculorum. (aiōn )
Then one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever.
(Abyssos )
The beast that yoʋ saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go to destruction. Those who dwell on the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see that the beast was and is not and is to come. (Abyssos )
Et iterum dixerunt: Alleluia. Et fumus eius ascendit in saecula saeculorum. (aiōn )
A second time the voice said, “Hallelujah! Her smoke goes up forever and ever.”
But the beast was captured, and so was the false prophet who was with him, who in his sight performed the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. (Limnē Pyr )

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the abyss and a great chain. (Abyssos )
(Abyssos )
He threw him into the abyss and locked and sealed it over him, so that he would no longer deceive the nations until the thousand years were completed. After that he must be released for a short time. (Abyssos )
And the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (aiōn , Limnē Pyr )
et dedit mare mortuos, qui in eo erant: et mors, et infernus dederunt mortuos suos, qui in ipsis erant: et iudicatum est de singulis secundum opera ipsorum. (Hadēs )
Then the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and each person was judged according to his works.
Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the sinful, the detestable, the murderers, the fornicators, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars, their portion is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
There will be no night there, and they will not need any lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light, and they will reign forever and ever. (aiōn )
Nisi quia Dominus adiuvit me: paulominus habitasset in inferno anima mea. ()
quem Deus suscitavit, solutis doloribus inferni, iuxta quod impossibile erat teneri illum ab eo. ()
