1 Kawaj kiwetaꞌmaj chi sibꞌalaj tajin kintij chuqꞌabꞌ rumal iwe, xuqujeꞌ kumal ke ri e kꞌo pa ri tinimit Laodicea, xuqujeꞌ kumal ke e kꞌi ri winaq ri man ketaꞌm ta nuwach.
I want you to know how great is my concern for you and those in Laodicea, even all who have not met me personally,
2 Kawaj chi kikꞌamawaꞌj ichuqꞌabꞌ, xa jun kibꞌano kixkꞌojiꞌ pa ri loqꞌanik, xuqujeꞌ kakꞌojiꞌ iwukꞌ ronojel qꞌinomal ri kape qas rukꞌ kuꞌlibꞌal kuꞌx xuqujeꞌ rukꞌ etaꞌmabꞌal. Rech kiwetaꞌmaj ri awatal loq rumal ri Dios, are waꞌ ri Cristo.
that their hearts may be encouraged, being united in love and into a great wealth of confident understanding, into a real knowledge of the mystery of the God and Father and of the Christ,
3 Pa Cristo awatal wi ronojel ri qꞌinomal rech ri etaꞌmabꞌal xuqujeꞌ ronojel noꞌj.
in whom all the treasures of the wisdom and the knowledge are hidden.
4 Kinbꞌij waꞌ chiꞌwe, rech maj jun kixsubꞌuw rukꞌ qꞌolobꞌal taq tzij.
Now I say this so that no one may deceive you with specious arguments.
5 Pune in maj iwukꞌ, ri wanimaꞌ kꞌo iwukꞌ, kinkiꞌkotik are kinwilo chi tajin kibꞌan ri jastaq pa ri ucholajil, xuqujeꞌ ko kꞌo ri ikojobꞌal pa Cristo.
For although in fact I am physically absent, yet my spirit is with you, rejoicing as I observe your orderliness and the firmness of your faith in Christ.
6 Rumal kꞌu riꞌ, chixkꞌol pa ri Ajawxel Jesucristo, jacha ri xibꞌan chukꞌamawaꞌxik.
So then, keep on walking in the Christ, Jesus the Sovereign, just as you received Him,
7 Chixjeqeloq xuqujeꞌ chixkꞌiy pa Cristo, qas chixkꞌol pa ri kojobꞌal jetaq ri xkꞌut chiꞌwach, xuqujeꞌ chixnoj che tyoxinik.
having been rooted and being built up in Him and being established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 Chichajij iwibꞌ rech maj jun kixmenkꞌetinik rukꞌ chomanik rech ri uwachulew, ri kutereneꞌj ri kinaqꞌatajibꞌal ri winaq ri kꞌamtal kibꞌe rumal ri itzel uxlabꞌal, junam rukꞌ ri kikojonik ri winaq rech we uwachulew riꞌ, man je ta kꞌu riꞌ karaj ri Cristo.
Be careful that no one captures you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ.
9 Rumal cher ronojel ri kux ri Dios kꞌo pa Cristo pa ri utyoꞌjal jun winaq.
Because all the Fullness of the Godhead dwells in Him in bodily form,
10 Ri ix kꞌut xixux tzꞌaqat pa Cristo, ri Areꞌ are jolomaj rech ronojel chuqꞌabꞌ xuqujeꞌ kwinem.
and you are complete in Him who is the head over all rule and authority.
11 Xuqujeꞌ pa Cristo xkoj iwetal, man rukꞌ ta uqꞌabꞌ winaq, are xiya ri ityoꞌjal re makaj pa ri etal ri xubꞌan ri Cristo.
In Him you were also ‘circumcised’ by the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, not with a circumcision done by hands but with the circumcision of the Christ,
12 Are waꞌ ri xikꞌamawaꞌj are xixmuqiꞌ pa ri qasanaꞌ xuqujeꞌ xixkꞌastajik rumal ri ikojobꞌal pa ri ukwinem ri Dios, ri xukꞌastajisaj ri Cristo chkixoꞌl ri kaminaqibꞌ.
having been buried with Him in the baptism. In Him you were also raised together through your faith in the productive power of the God who raised Him from among the dead.
13 Are majaꞌ kakoj iwetal, ix kaminaq kanoq pa taq ri imak, ri Dios kꞌut xuya ikꞌaslemal pa junamam rukꞌ ri Cristo, are xukuy ronojel ri qamak.
Yes you, though being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh—He has made you alive together with Him; having forgiven us all our trespasses;
14 Xuqujeꞌ xutoj ri qakꞌas ri kꞌo kanoq are waꞌ ri kutoqꞌij ri taqanik. Areꞌ xtojow ri qakꞌas ri ubꞌanom kꞌulel chaqe, xubꞌajij kan cho ri ripbꞌal.
having wiped out the written record about us that was against us (based on the ordinances), indeed He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross;
15 Are xetukitaj ri chuqꞌabꞌ xuqujeꞌ ri e kwinem rumal, xuꞌya pa kikꞌixibal chikiwach konojel xchꞌeken pa kiwiꞌ cho ri ripbꞌal.
having stripped the principalities and the authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, having triumphed over them by it [the cross].
16 Rumal bꞌa riꞌ maj jun kuqꞌat tzij piꞌwiꞌ rumal ri kitijo xuqujeꞌ rumal ri kiqumuj, o rumal taq ri nimaqꞌij, rech ri kꞌakꞌ ikꞌ, xuqujeꞌ rech uxlanem.
So do not let anyone judge you about food or drink, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or Sabbaths,
17 Waꞌ we jastaq riꞌ xaq umuꞌjal ri jastaq ri kepe na, are kꞌu ri tyoꞌjal rech ri Cristo.
which things are but a shadow of those to come, while the body is Christ's.
18 Man kiya ta bꞌa bꞌe chike we winaq ri kakijaluj kakimochꞌ kibꞌ chkiwach ri angelibꞌ xuqujeꞌ keꞌkiqꞌijilaꞌj. We winaq riꞌ kakiya ubꞌixik ri man kilom ta uwach xuqujeꞌ kakinimarisaj kibꞌ rukꞌ ri kichomanik rech uwachulew.
Nor let anyone disqualify you, taking pleasure in a subservience and devotion to the angels, ‘taking possession’ of things that he has not seen, being puffed up by his carnal mind to no useful purpose,
19 Man kakaj taj kakinukꞌ kibꞌ rukꞌ ri jolomaj. Rumal ri jolomaj ronojel ri tyoꞌjal uchapom ribꞌ xuqujeꞌ unakꞌom taq ribꞌ, tajin kakꞌiyik jetaq ri karaj ri Dios.
and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, supported and held together by its joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.
20 We ix kaminaq chi rukꞌ ri Cristo pa ri inoꞌjibꞌal rech ri uwachulew ¿jas kꞌu che kibꞌano chi je ri ix kꞌo ajuwachulew, kinim iwibꞌ chuxeꞌ ri taqanik ri kubꞌij
Now then, since you died with Christ away from the basic principles of the world, why, as though still living in it, are you subjecting yourselves to regulations
21 man chapo, matijo, man kachap ta we jastaq riꞌ?
—Don't handle! Don't taste! Don't touch!—
22 We taqanik riꞌ xaq utaqanik xuqujeꞌ ukꞌutuꞌn winaq, ronojel kasach na uwach are kakojik.
(all of which result in corruption through overuse) according to the commands and teachings of men?
23 Jer kꞌo noꞌjibꞌal che ri ubꞌiꞌtajik, xaq jalum utzilal, mochꞌochꞌem, xuqujeꞌ ri kꞌax che ri tyoꞌjal, maj kꞌu kutayij chuqꞌilik ri jiqꞌjatem rech ri bꞌanoj makaj.
Such things do indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and subservience and asceticism, but are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
