1 Knare avu'ava'ma hu zamofo zago'amo'a, marerirfa mnanentake masavena agatere'ne. Vahe'ma fri knamo'a, vahe'ma kasente kna agatere'ne.
A good name is better than oil of great price, and the day of death than the day of birth.
2 Tahunte'ma vu knamo'a tusi ne'zama kreno neneno musema hu nompima vu'zana agatere'ne. Na'ankure maka vahera fri vaheke mani'nonanki, amnema mani'nona vahe'mota tagera okanisune.
It is better to go to the house of weeping, than to go to the house of feasting; because that is the end of every man, and the living will take it to their hearts.
3 Asunku'ma hu'zamo, kiza zokago'ma hu'zana agatere'ne. Na'ankure asunku'ma hu'zamo'a, tagu'a tazeri ani higeta, ruzahu ruzahu avu'ava'ma hu'zana antahita keta nehune.
Sorrow is better than joy; when the face is sad the mind gets better.
4 Knare antahi'zane vahe'mo'a vahe'ma fri'negeno'ma asunku'ma huno mania nontega agu'amo'a nemane. Hianagi neginagi antahi'zane vahe'mo'a musema nehaza nontega agu'amo'a nemane.
The hearts of the wise are in the house of weeping; but the hearts of the foolish are in the house of joy.
5 Knare antahi'zane vahe'mo'ma hanave kema huno vahe'ma azeri fatgohu kema antahi'zamo, neginagi vahe'mo'ma zagame'ma nehia zama antahi'zana agatere'ne.
It is better to take note of the protest of the wise, than for a man to give ear to the song of the foolish.
6 Neginagi vahe'mofo kiza zokago kemo'a, ne'zama kre'nea kavomofo henka kazigama ave'ave trazanuma tevema hugre'negeno'ma trage raragema hiaza nehie. Ama ana zamo'a agafa'a omnetfa hu'ne.
Like the cracking of thorns under a pot, so is the laugh of a foolish man; and this again is to no purpose.
7 Vahe'ma knama amino azeri havizama hu'zamo'a, knare antahi'zane vahera azeri neginagi vahe nese. Anahu kna huno mago'zama huntenogu'ma, zagoma atesino masavema hu zamo'a, vahe'mofo agu'a azeri haviza nehie.
The wise are troubled by the ways of the cruel, and the giving of money is the destruction of the heart.
8 Eri'zama eri afinare'ma ate zamo, eri'zama eri agafama hu zana agateregeno, arimpa fru huno mani'neno avegama ante'zamo avufga rama hu'zana agatere'ne.
The end of a thing is better than its start, and a gentle spirit is better than pride.
9 Ame'amara hunka krimpa oho. Na'ankure ame'ama'ma huno arimpama ahe zana neginagi vahe'mofo avu'ava me'ne.
Be not quick to let your spirit be angry; because wrath is in the heart of the foolish.
10 Nahigeno korapa'ma mani'nama e'noa knamo'a, menima mani'noa kna agatere'ne hunka kagenoka osuo. Na'ankure e'i knare antahi'zantetira kagenoka osugahane.
Say not, Why were the days which have gone by better than these? Such a question comes not from wisdom.
11 Knare antahi'zanteti'ma erisanti'ma hare'zamo'a knare hu'neankino, nomani'zama maninka vanampina knare huno kaza hugahie.
Wisdom together with a heritage is good, and a profit to those who see the sun.
12 Zagomo'ma kazama nehiankna huno, knare antahi'zamo'a kazahugahie. Hianagi knare antahi'zamoke kagura vazigahie.
Wisdom keeps a man from danger even as money does; but the value of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to its owner.
13 Anumzamo'ma tro'ma hu'nea zantamina kenka antahinka huo. Hagi kazaki zantamima Agrama tro'ma hunte'nea zantamina, iza eri fatgo hugara hu'ne?
Give thought to the work of God. Who will make straight what he has made bent?
14 Maka zama hana zantmimo'ma knare'ma hania knafina, muse huo. Hianagi maka zamo'ma amuhoma hanigenka, kenka antahinkama hananana Anumzamoke knare knane, havi knanena negamie. E'ina hu'negu mago'mo'a okima fore'ma hania zana keno antahinora osu'ne.
In the day of wealth have joy, but in the day of evil take thought: God has put the one against the other, so that man may not be certain what will be after him.
These two have I seen in my life which is to no purpose: a good man coming to his end in his righteousness, and an evil man whose days are long in his evil-doing.
16 Hagi fatgo avu'ava zana agaterenka fatgo vahetfa manisue hunka nosunka, knare antahi'zane vahera agaterena, knare antahi'zane vahetfa manisue hunka osuo. Na'ankure e'inahu kavukva zamo'a, kazeri haviza hugahie.
Be not given overmuch to righteousness and be not over-wise. Why let destruction come on you?
17 Kagra kefo avu'ava'ene vahera agaterenka kefo avu'ava zana nehunka, neginagi vahera oso. Nahanigenka kagra kasefa vahera mani'nenka ame'amara hunka frigahane?
Be not evil overmuch, and be not foolish. Why come to your end before your time?
18 Anantarega koro kema antahino amage'ma ante'zamo knarera hu'ne. Na'ankure Anumzamofoma koroma hunteno, amage'ma ante zana anantarega avu'avazampi ne-e.
It is good to take this in your hand and not to keep your hand from that; he who has the fear of God will be free of the two.
19 Mago knare antahi'zane ne'mofo hankavemo'a, 10ni'a ugagota kva vahetmima rankuma'ma kegavama hu'naza vahe'mokizmi hankavea agatere'ne.
Wisdom makes a wise man stronger than ten rulers in a town.
20 Magore huno ama mopafina fatgo huno'ma mani'neno kumi'ma osu vahera omani'ne.
There is no man on earth of such righteousness that he does good and is free from sin all his days.
21 Ana maka nanekema vahe'mo'zama hanaza nanekea kagesa antenka ontahio, aru eri'za vahekamo huhaviza hugante'nia naneke antahigahane.
Do not give ear to all the words which men say, for fear of hearing the curses of your servant.
22 Na'ankure aru vahe'ma hu havizama hunentana zana, kagra kenka antahinka hu'nane.
Your heart has knowledge how frequently others have been cursed by you.
23 Ama ana maka zana knare antahizanteti refko hu'na kete'na amanage nagra'agura hu'noe, knare antahi'zane vahe mani'nue hu'na huanagi, nagra knarera osu'noe.
All this I have put to the test by wisdom; I said, I will be wise, but it was far from me.
24 Knare antahi'zamo'a afete me'neankino, hakeno'ma eri'amo'a tusi amuho hu'ne.
Far off is true existence, and very deep; who may have knowledge of it?
I gave my mind to knowledge and to searching for wisdom and the reason of things, and to the discovery that sin is foolish, and that to be foolish is to be without one's senses.
26 Mago zama ke'na eri fore'ma huana, mago'ma kefo zantfa huno fri'zama agatere'neana, a'nemofo krifumo'e. A'nemofo agu'amo'a krifugna hu'neankino, fru fru azamo'a vahe'ma kinama hunentea seni nofi kna hu'ne. Anumzamo'ma musema nehiazama nehia vahe'mo'a, ana akura koro fregahie. Hianagi kumi'ma nehia vahe'mofona, kati higeno aze'nerie.
And I saw a thing more bitter than death, even the woman whose heart is full of tricks and nets, and whose hands are as bands. He with whom God is pleased will get free from her, but the sinner will be taken by her.
27 Rempima humi ne'mo'a huno, maka zamofo agafa'ama hakena erifore'ma hunakura, mago mago zamofo agafa'a hakena ketere hu'noe.
Look! this I have seen, said the Preacher, taking one thing after another to get the true account,
28 Anama hake'nama nevu'na mago zana onke'noanagi, 1 tauseni'a vahepina, fatgo avu'ava'ene nera magoke ke'noe. Hianagi magore hu'na fatgo avu'ava'ene ara onketfa hu'noe.
For which my soul is still searching, but I have it not; one man among a thousand have I seen; but a woman among all these I have not seen.
29 Magoke zama ke'na erifore'ma huana amane, Anumzamo'a fatgo vahe tro hunte'neanagi, vahe'mo'a rama'a kankamu retro huno kefo avu'avara nehie.
This only have I seen, that God made men upright, but they have been searching out all sorts of inventions.
