Salmi 36
1 Per il Capo de’ musici. Di Davide, servo dell’Eterno. L’iniquità parla all’empio nell’intimo del suo cuore; non c’è timor di Dio davanti ai suoi occhi.
[Wicked people continually desire to] sin. They consider [IDM] that they do not need to revere God.
2 Essa lo lusinga che la sua empietà non sarà scoperta né presa in odio.
Because they are very proud, they do not think that God will discover their sins and condemn them (OR, they do not think about their sins and hate themselves for it).
3 Le parole della sua bocca sono iniquità e frode; egli ha cessato d’esser savio e di fare il bene.
[Everything] that they say is deceitful and full of lies; they no longer do what is good and are no longer wise.
4 Egli medita iniquità sopra il suo letto; si tiene nella via che non è buona; non aborre il male.
While they are lying on their beds, they plan to do things to harm [others]; they are determined to do things that are not good, and they never refuse [to do what is] evil.
5 O Eterno, la tua benignità va fino al cielo, e la tua fedeltà fino alle nuvole.
Yahweh, your faithful love for us reaches as high as the heavens, you faithfully [do what you have promised]; [it is as though your doing that] extends up to the clouds.
6 La tua giustizia è come le montagne di Dio, i tuoi giudizi sono un grande abisso. O Eterno, tu conservi uomini e bestie.
Your righteous behavior is [as permanent as] the highest mountains [MET], your acting justly [will continue as long as] the deepest oceans [exist]. You take care of people and you take care of animals.
7 O Dio, com’è preziosa la tua benignità! Perciò i figliuoli degli uomini si rifugiano all’ombra delle tue ali,
God, your faithful love for us is very precious. You protect us like birds protect their baby birds under their wings [MET].
8 son saziati dell’abbondanza della tua casa, e tu li abbeveri al torrente delle tue delizie.
You provide for us plenty of food from the abundant supply [IDM] that you have; your great blessings for us [flow] like a river.
9 Poiché in te è la fonte della vita, e per la tua luce noi vediamo la luce.
You are the one who causes everything to live; your light is what enables us to see.
10 Continua la tua benignità verso di quelli che ti conoscono, e la tua giustizia verso i retti di cuore.
Continue to faithfully love those who have experienced a relationship with you, and bless those who act righteously/justly.
11 Non mi venga sopra il piè del superbo, e la mano degli empi non mi metta in fuga.
Do not allow proud people [SYN] to attack me, or allow wicked people to chase me away.
12 Ecco là, gli operatori d’iniquità sono caduti; sono atterrati, e non possono risorgere.
Look where evil people have fallen on the ground, defeated; they were thrown down, and they will never rise again.
