Salmi 9
1 Salmo di Davide, [dato] al Capo de' Musici sopra Almut-labben IO celebrerò, o Signore, con tutto il mio cuore; Io narrerò tutte le tue maraviglie.
To the Overseer, 'On the Death of Labben.' — A Psalm of David. I confess, O Jehovah, with all my heart, I recount all Thy wonders,
2 Io mi rallegrerò, e festeggerò in te; Io salmeggerò il tuo Nome, o Altissimo;
I rejoice and exult in Thee, I praise Thy Name, O Most High.
3 Perciocchè i miei nemici hanno volte le spalle; Son caduti, e periti d'innanzi alla tua faccia.
In mine enemies turning backward, they stumble and perish from Thy face.
4 Conciossiachè tu mi abbi fatta ragione e diritto; Tu ti sei posto a sedere sopra il trono, [come] giusto giudice.
For Thou hast done my judgment and my right. Thou hast sat on a throne, A judge of righteousness.
5 Tu hai sgridate le nazioni, tu hai distrutto l'empio, Tu hai cancellato il loro nome in sempiterno.
Thou hast rebuked nations, Thou hast destroyed the wicked, Their name Thou hast blotted out to the age and for ever.
6 O nemico, le desolazioni sono finite in perpetuo, E tu hai disfatte le città. È pur perita la memoria di esse.
O thou Enemy, Finished have been destructions for ever, As to cities thou hast plucked up, Perished hath their memorial with them.
7 Ma il Signore siede in eterno; Egli ha fermato il suo trono per [far] giudicio.
And Jehovah to the age abideth, He is preparing for judgment His throne.
8 Ed egli giudicherà il mondo in giustizia, Egli renderà giudicio a' popoli in dirittura.
And He judgeth the world in righteousness, He judgeth the peoples in uprightness.
9 E il Signore sarà un alto ricetto al misero; Un alto ricetto a' tempi [ch'egli sarà] in distretta.
And Jehovah is a tower for the bruised, A tower for times of adversity.
10 Laonde, o Signore, quelli che conoscono il Nome tuo si confideranno in te; Perciocchè tu non abbandoni quelli che ti cercano.
They trust in Thee who do know Thy name, For Thou hast not forsaken Those seeking Thee, O Jehovah.
11 Salmeggiate al Signore che abita in Sion; Raccontate fra i popoli i suoi fatti.
Sing ye praise to Jehovah, inhabiting Zion, Declare ye among the peoples His acts,
12 Perciocchè egli ridomanda ragione del sangue, egli se ne ricorda; Egli non dimentica il grido de' poveri afflitti.
For He who is seeking for blood Them hath remembered, He hath not forgotten the cry of the afflicted.
13 Abbi pietà di me, o Signore, Tu che mi tiri in alto dalle porte della morte, Vedi l'afflizione [che io soffero] da quelli che m'odiano;
Favour me, O Jehovah, See mine affliction by those hating me, Thou who liftest me up from the gates of death,
14 Acciocchè io racconti tutte le tue lodi Nelle porte della figliuola di Sion, [E] festeggi della tua liberazione.
So that I recount all Thy praise, In the gates of the daughter of Zion. I rejoice on Thy salvation.
15 Le genti sono state affondate nella fossa che avevano fatta; Il lor piè è stato preso nella rete che avevano nascosta.
Sunk have nations in a pit they made, In a net that they hid hath their foot been captured.
16 Il Signore è stato conosciuto [per] lo giudicio ch'egli ha fatto; L'empio è stato allacciato per l'opera delle sue proprie mani. (Higgaion, Sela)
Jehovah hath been known, Judgment He hath done, By a work of his hands Hath the wicked been snared. (Meditation, Selah)
The wicked do turn back to Sheol, All nations forgetting God. (Sheol h7585)
18 Perciocchè il povero non sarà dimenticato in sempiterno; La speranza de' poveri non perirà in perpetuo.
For not for ever is the needy forgotten, The hope of the humble lost to the age.
19 Levati, o Signore; non [lasciar] che l'uomo si rinforzi; Sieno giudicate le genti davanti alla tua faccia.
Rise, O Jehovah, let not man be strong, Let nations be judged before Thy face.
20 Signore, metti spavento in loro; [Fa]' che le genti conoscano, che [non sono altro che] uomini. (Sela)
Appoint, O Jehovah, a director to them, Let nations know they [are] men! (Selah)
