Isaia 30
1 GUAI a' figliuoli ribelli, dice il Signore, i quali prendono consiglio, [e] non da me, e fanno delle imprese, [e] non dallo Spirito mio; per sopraggiunger peccato a preccato;
Woe [to] apostate sons, The affirmation of Jehovah! To do counsel, and not from Me, And to spread out a covering, and not of My spirit, So as to add sin to sin.
2 i quali si mettono in cammino, per iscendere in Egitto, senza aver[ne] domandata la mia bocca; per fortificarsi della forza di Faraone, e per ridursi in salvo all'ombra dell'Egitto!
Who are walking to go down to Egypt, And My mouth have not asked, To be strong in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt.
3 Or la forza di Faraone vi sarà in vergogna, e il ridurvi all'ombra di Egitto in ignominia.
And the strength of Pharaoh Hath been to you for shame, And the trust in the shadow of Egypt confusion,
4 Quando i principi d'esso saranno stati in Soan, e i suoi ambasciatori saranno venuti in Hanes;
For in Zoan were his princes, And his messengers reach Hanes.
5 tutti saranno confusi per lo popolo [che] non gioverà loro [nulla, e] non [sarà] di aiuto, nè di giovamento alcuno; anzi di vergogna, ed anche d'ignominia.
All he made ashamed of a people that profit not, Neither for help, not for profit, But for shame, and also for reproach!
6 Il carico delle bestie del Mezzodì: Essi porteranno in sul dosso degli asinelli le lor ricchezze, e sopra la gobba de' cammelli i lor tesori, attraverso un paese di distretta e d'angoscia dal quale viene il leone e il leopardo, la vipera e il serpente ardente, e volante, ad un popolo che non giova a nulla.
The burden of the beasts of the south. Into a land of adversity and distress, Of young lion and of old lion, Whence [are] viper and flying saraph, They carry on the shoulder of asses their wealth, And on the hump of camels their treasures, Unto a people not profitable.
7 E gli Egizi [li] soccerreranno in vano, ed a vuoto; per questo io l'ho chiamato: Rahab, che se ne sta tranquilla.
Yea, Egyptians [are] vanity, and in vain do help, Therefore I have cried concerning this: 'Their strength [is] to sit still.'
8 Ora vieni, scrivi questo davanti a loro sopra una tavola, e descrivilo in un libro, acciocchè resti nel tempo a venire, in perpetuo.
No, go in, write it on a tablet with them, And on a book engrave it, And it is for a latter day, for a witness unto the age,
9 Perciocchè [questo è] un popolo ribelle, [son] figliuoli bugiardi; figliuoli [che] non hanno voluto ascoltar la Legge del Signore.
That a rebellious people [is] this, sons — liars, Sons not willing to hear the law of Jehovah.
10 I quali han detto a' veggenti: Non veggiate; ed a quelli che hanno delle visioni: Non ci veggiate visioni diritte; parlateci cose piacevoli, vedete delle illusioni;
Who have said to seers, 'Ye do not see,' And to prophets, 'Ye do not prophesy to us Straightforward things, Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits,
11 ritraetevi dalla via, stornatevi dal sentiero, fate cessare il Santo d'Israele dal nostro cospetto.
Turn aside from the way, decline from the path, Cause to cease from before us the Holy One of Israel.'
12 Perciò, così ha detto il Santo d'Israele: Perciocchè voi avete rigettata questa parola, e vi siete confidati in oppressione, ed in modi distorti, e vi siete appoggiati sopra ciò;
Therefore, thus said the Holy One of Israel, Because of your kicking against this word, And ye trust in oppression, And perverseness, and rely on it,
13 perciò questa iniquità vi sarà come una rottura cadente, [come] un ventre in un alto muro, la cui ruina viene di subito, in un momento.
Therefore is this iniquity to you as a breach falling, Swelled out in a wall set on high, Whose destruction suddenly, at an instant cometh.
14 E [il Signore] la romperà come si rompe un testo di vasellaio, che si trita senza risparmiar[lo], tanto che fra il rottame di esso non si trova alcun testolino da prender del fuoco dal focolare, nè da attingere dell'acqua dalla fossa.
And He hath broken it As the breaking of the potters' bottle, Beaten down — He doth not spare, Nor is there found, in its beating down, A potsherd to take fire from the burning, And to draw out waters from a ditch.
15 Perciocchè così avea detto il Signore Iddio, il Santo d'Israele: Voi sarete salvati per quiete, e riposo; la vostra forza sarà in quiete, ed in confidanza; ma voi non avete voluto.
For thus said the Lord Jehovah, The Holy One of Israel: 'In returning and rest ye are saved, In keeping quiet and in confidence is your might, And ye have not been willing.
16 Anzi avete detto: No; ma fuggiremo sopra cavalli; perciò, voi fuggirete; e cavalcheremo sopra [cavalcature] veloci; perciò, veloci [altresì] saranno quelli che vi perseguiranno.
And ye say, No, for on a horse we flee? Therefore ye flee, And on the swift we ride! Therefore swift are your pursuers.
17 Un migliaio [fuggirà] alla minaccia di un solo; alla minaccia di cinque voi fuggirete [tutti]; finchè restiate come un albero di nave sopra la sommità di un monte, e come un'antenna sopra un colle.
One thousand because of the rebuke of one, Because of the rebuke of five ye flee, Till ye have been surely left as a pole On the top of the mountain, And as an ensign on the height.
18 E però il Signore indugerà ad aver mercè di voi; e però altresì egli sarà esaltato, avendo pietà di voi; perciocchè il Signore [è] l'Iddio del giudicio. Beati tutti coloro che l'attendono.
And therefore doth wait Jehovah to favour you, And therefore He is exalted to pity you, For a God of judgment [is] Jehovah, O the blessedness of all waiting for Him.
19 Perciocchè il popolo dimorerà in Sion, in Gerusalemme; tu non piangerai [più]; per certo egli ti farà grazia, udendo la voce del tuo grido; tosto ch'egli ti avrà udito, egli ti risponderà.
For the people in Zion dwell in Jerusalem, Weep thou not, weeping, Pitying, He pitieth thee at the voice of thy cry, When He heareth He answereth thee.
20 E il Signore vi darà ben del pane di distretta, e dell'acqua di oppressione, ma i tuoi dottori non si dilegueranno più; anzi i tuoi occhi vedranno [del continuo] i tuoi dottori.
And the Lord hath given to you bread of adversity, And water of oppression. And thy directors remove no more, And thine eyes have seen thy directors,
21 E le tue orecchie udiranno dietro a te una parole che dirà: Questa [è] la via: camminate per essa, o che andiate a destra, o che andiate a sinistra.
And thine ear heareth a word behind thee, Saying, 'This [is] the way, go ye in it,' When ye turn to the right, And when ye turn to the left.
22 E voi contaminerete la coverta delle sculture del vostro argento, e l'ammanto delle statue di getto del vostro oro; tu le gitterai via come un panno lordato; tu dirai loro: Esci fuori.
And ye have defiled the covering of Thy graven images of silver, And the ephod of thy molten image of gold, Thou scatterest them as a sickening thing, 'Go out,' thou sayest to it.
23 E [il Signore] darà la pioggia, che si conviene alla tua semenza, che tu avrai seminata in terra; e [darà] il pane del frutto della terra, il qual sarà dovizioso, e grasso; in quel giorno il tuo bestiame pasturerà in paschi spaziosi.
And He hath given rain [for] thy seed, With which thou dost sow the ground, And bread, the increase of the ground, And it hath been fat and plenteous, Enjoy do thy cattle in that day an enlarged pasture.
24 Ed i buoi, e gli asinelli, che lavorano la terra, mangeranno biada saporita, la quale sarà sventolata, col vaglio, e con la ventola.
And the oxen and the young asses serving the ground, Fermented provender do eat, That one is winnowing with shovel and fan.
25 E vi saranno de' rivi, [e] de' condotti d'acque sopra ogni alto monte, e sopra ogni colle elevato, nel giorno della grande uccisione, quando le torri caderanno.
And there hath been on every high mount, And on every exalted hill, Rivulets — streams of waters, In a day of much slaughter, in the falling of towers.
26 E la luce della luna sarà come la luce del sole, e la luce del sole sarà sette volte maggiore, come [sarebbe] la luce di sette giorni [insieme]; nel giorno che il Signore avrà fasciata la rottura del suo popolo, e risanata la ferita della sua percossa.
And the light of the moon hath been as the light of the sun, And the light of the sun is sevenfold, As the light of seven days, In the day of Jehovah's binding up the breach of His people, When the stroke of its wound He healeth.
27 Ecco, il Nome del Signore viene da lontano, la sua ira [è] ardente, ed il [suo] carico [è] pesante; le sue labbra son piene d'indegnazione, e la sua lingua [è] come un fuoco divorante;
Lo, the name of Jehovah is coming from far, Burning is His anger, and great the flame, His lips have been full of indignation, And His tongue [is] as a devouring fire.
28 ed il suo Spirito [è] come un torrente traboccato, che arriva infino a mezzo il collo, per isbatter le genti d'uno sbattimento tale, che sieno ridotte a nulla; ed [è] come un freno nelle mascelle de' popoli, che [li] fa andar fuor di via.
And His breath [is] as an overflowing stream, Unto the neck it divideth, To sift nations with a sieve of vanity, And a bridle causing to err, [Is] on the jaws of the peoples.
29 Voi avrete [in bocca] un cantico, come nella notte che si santifica la solennità; e letizia al cuore, come chi cammina con flauti, per venire al monte del Signore, alla Rocca d'Israele.
Singing is to you as in a night sanctified for a festival, And joy of heart as he who is going with a pipe, To go in to the mountain of Jehovah, Unto the rock of Israel.
30 E il Signore farà udire la maestà della sua voce; e mostrerà come egli colpisce sol suo braccio nell'indegnazione della [sua] ira, e con fiamma di fuoco divorante; con iscoppi, con nembo, e con pietre di gragnuola.
And caused to be heard hath Jehovah The honour of His voice, And the coming down of His arm He doth shew with the raging of anger, And the flame of a consuming fire, Scattering, and inundation, and hailstone.
31 Perciocchè Assur, [che] soleva percuoter col bastone, sarà fiaccato dalla voce del Signore.
For from the voice of Jehovah broken down [is] Asshur, With a rod He smiteth.
32 Ed ogni passaggio della verga determinata, la quale il Signore farà riposar sopra lui, sarà [accompagnato] da tamburi, e da cetere, dopo ch'egli avrà combattuto contro a loro battaglie a mano alzata.
And every passage of the settled staff, That Jehovah causeth to rest on him, Hath been with tabrets, and with harps, And in battles of shaking he hath fought with it.
33 Perciocchè Tofet è già apparecchiato, egli è preparato eziandio per lo re; egli [l]'ha fatto profondo, e largo; la sua stipa [è] fuoco, e gran quantità di legne; il fiato del Signore [sarà] come un torrente di zolfo che l'accenderà.
For, arranged from former time is Tophet, Even it for the king is prepared, He hath made deep, He hath made large, Its pile [is] fire and much wood, The breath of Jehovah, As a stream of brim stone, is burning in it!
