Salmi 89
1 Maskil. Di Etan l'Ezraita. Canterò senza fine le grazie del Signore, con la mia bocca annunzierò la tua fedeltà nei secoli,
AN INSTRUCTION OF ETHAN THE EZRAHITE. Of the kind acts of YHWH, I sing for all time, From generation to generation I make known Your faithfulness with my mouth,
2 perché hai detto: «La mia grazia rimane per sempre»; la tua fedeltà è fondata nei cieli.
For I said, “Kindness is built for all time, The heavens! You establish Your faithfulness in them.”
3 «Ho stretto un'alleanza con il mio eletto, ho giurato a Davide mio servo:
I have made a covenant for My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David:
4 stabilirò per sempre la tua discendenza, ti darò un trono che duri nei secoli».
“Even for all time I establish your seed, And have built your throne to generation and generation.” (Selah)
5 I cieli cantano le tue meraviglie, Signore, la tua fedeltà nell'assemblea dei santi.
And the heavens confess Your wonders, O YHWH, Your faithfulness [is] also in an assembly of holy ones.
6 Chi sulle nubi è uguale al Signore, chi è simile al Signore tra gli angeli di Dio?
For who in the sky, compares himself to YHWH? [Who] is like to YHWH among sons of the mighty?
7 Dio è tremendo nell'assemblea dei santi, grande e terribile tra quanti lo circondano.
God is very terrible, In the secret counsel of His holy ones, And fearful over all surrounding Him.
8 Chi è uguale a te, Signore, Dio degli eserciti? Sei potente, Signore, e la tua fedeltà ti fa corona.
O YHWH, God of Hosts, Who [is] like You—a strong YAH? And Your faithfulness [is] around You.
9 Tu domini l'orgoglio del mare, tu plachi il tumulto dei suoi flutti.
You [are] ruler over the pride of the sea, In the lifting up of its billows You restrain them.
10 Tu hai calpestato Raab come un vinto, con braccio potente hai disperso i tuoi nemici.
You have bruised Rahab, as one wounded. You have scattered Your enemies with the arm of Your strength.
11 Tuoi sono i cieli, tua è la terra, tu hai fondato il mondo e quanto contiene;
The heavens [are] Yours, The earth [is] also Yours, The habitable world and its fullness, You have founded them.
12 il settentrione e il mezzogiorno tu li hai creati, il Tabor e l'Ermon cantano il tuo nome.
North and south You have appointed them, Tabor and Hermon sing in Your Name.
13 E' potente il tuo braccio, forte la tua mano, alta la tua destra.
You have an arm with might, Strong is Your hand—high Your right hand.
14 Giustizia e diritto sono la base del tuo trono, grazia e fedeltà precedono il tuo volto.
Righteousness and judgment [Are] the fixed place of Your throne, Kindness and truth go before Your face.
15 Beato il popolo che ti sa acclamare e cammina, o Signore, alla luce del tuo volto:
O the blessedness of the people knowing the shout, O YHWH, they habitually walk in the light of Your face.
16 esulta tutto il giorno nel tuo nome, nella tua giustizia trova la sua gloria.
They rejoice in Your Name all the day, And they are exalted in Your righteousness,
17 Perché tu sei il vanto della sua forza e con il tuo favore innalzi la nostra potenza.
For You [are] the beauty of their strength, And in Your good will is our horn exalted,
18 Perché del Signore è il nostro scudo, il nostro re, del Santo d'Israele.
For our shield [is] of YHWH, And our king to the Holy One of Israel.
19 Un tempo parlasti in visione ai tuoi santi dicendo: «Ho portato aiuto a un prode, ho innalzato un eletto tra il mio popolo.
Then You have spoken in vision, To Your saint, indeed, You say, I have placed help on a mighty one, Exalted a chosen one out of the people,
20 Ho trovato Davide, mio servo, con il mio santo olio l'ho consacrato;
I have found My servant David, With My holy oil I have anointed him.
21 la mia mano è il suo sostegno, il mio braccio è la sua forza.
With whom My hand is established, My arm also strengthens him.
22 Su di lui non trionferà il nemico, né l'opprimerà l'iniquo.
An enemy does not exact on him, And a son of perverseness does not afflict him.
23 Annienterò davanti a lui i suoi nemici e colpirò quelli che lo odiano.
And I have beaten down his adversaries before him, And I plague those hating him,
24 La mia fedeltà e la mia grazia saranno con lui e nel mio nome si innalzerà la sua potenza.
And My faithfulness and kindness [are] with him, And in My Name is his horn exalted.
25 Stenderò sul mare la sua mano e sui fiumi la sua destra.
And I have set his hand on the sea, And his right hand on the rivers.
26 Egli mi invocherà: Tu sei mio padre, mio Dio e roccia della mia salvezza.
He proclaims to Me: “You [are] my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.”
27 Io lo costituirò mio primogenito, il più alto tra i re della terra.
I also appoint him firstborn, Highest of the kings of the earth.
28 Gli conserverò sempre la mia grazia, la mia alleanza gli sarà fedele.
For all time I keep for him My kindness, And My covenant [is] steadfast with him.
29 Stabilirò per sempre la sua discendenza, il suo trono come i giorni del cielo.
And I have set his seed forever, And his throne as the days of the heavens.
30 Se i suoi figli abbandoneranno la mia legge e non seguiranno i miei decreti,
If his sons forsake My law, And do not walk in My judgments;
31 se violeranno i miei statuti e non osserveranno i miei comandi,
If they defile My statutes, And do not keep My commands,
32 punirò con la verga il loro peccato e con flagelli la loro colpa.
I have looked after their transgression with a rod, And their iniquity with strokes,
33 Ma non gli toglierò la mia grazia e alla mia fedeltà non verrò mai meno.
And I do not break My kindness from him, Nor do I deal falsely in My faithfulness.
34 Non violerò la mia alleanza, non muterò la mia promessa.
I do not profane My covenant, And I do not change that which is going forth from My lips.
35 Sulla mia santità ho giurato una volta per sempre: certo non mentirò a Davide.
Once I have sworn by My holiness, I do not lie to David,
36 In eterno durerà la sua discendenza, il suo trono davanti a me quanto il sole,
His seed is for all time, And his throne [is] as the sun before Me,
37 sempre saldo come la luna, testimone fedele nel cielo».
It is established as the moon for all time, And the witness in the sky is steadfast. (Selah)
38 Ma tu lo hai respinto e ripudiato, ti sei adirato contro il tuo consacrato;
And You, You have cast off, and reject, You have shown Yourself angry with Your anointed,
39 hai rotto l'alleanza con il tuo servo, hai profanato nel fango la sua corona.
Have rejected the covenant of Your servant, You have defiled his crown to the earth,
40 Hai abbattuto tutte le sue mura e diroccato le sue fortezze;
You have broken down all his hedges, You have made his fortifications a ruin.
41 tutti i passanti lo hanno depredato, è divenuto lo scherno dei suoi vicini.
Everyone passing by the way has spoiled him, He has been a reproach to his neighbors,
42 Hai fatto trionfare la destra dei suoi rivali, hai fatto gioire tutti i suoi nemici.
You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries, You have caused all his enemies to rejoice.
43 Hai smussato il filo della sua spada e non l'hai sostenuto nella battaglia.
Also—You turn back the sharpness of his sword, And have not established him in battle,
44 Hai posto fine al suo splendore, hai rovesciato a terra il suo trono.
Have caused [him] to cease from his brightness, And have cast down his throne to the earth.
45 Hai abbreviato i giorni della sua giovinezza e lo hai coperto di vergogna.
You have shortened the days of his youth, Have covered him over [with] shame. (Selah)
46 Fino a quando, Signore, continuerai a tenerti nascosto, arderà come fuoco la tua ira?
Until when, O YHWH, are You hidden? Does Your fury burn as fire forever?
47 Ricorda quant'è breve la mia vita. Perché quasi un nulla hai creato ogni uomo?
Remember how [short] my lifetime [is]. Why have You created in vain All the sons of men?
Who [is] the man that lives, and does not see death? He delivers his soul from the hand of Sheol. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 Dove sono, Signore, le tue grazie di un tempo, che per la tua fedeltà hai giurato a Davide?
Where [are] Your former kindnesses, O Lord, [Which] You have sworn to David in Your faithfulness?
50 Ricorda, Signore, l'oltraggio dei tuoi servi: porto nel cuore le ingiurie di molti popoli,
Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Your servants, I have borne in my bosom all the strivings of the peoples,
51 con le quali, Signore, i tuoi nemici insultano, insultano i passi del tuo consacrato.
With which Your enemies reproached, O YHWH, With which they have reproached The steps of Your anointed.
52 Benedetto il Signore in eterno. Amen, amen.
Blessed [is] YHWH for all time. Amen and amen!
