1 Aluna ane, singa inonee mihi kutula miamanyisi, mulinge kina mizize singelya kinyamilimo kikulu kukila.
Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.
2 Kunsoko kehi kitumila kunzila yeetu. Ange wehi shanga wikumpya munkani yakwe, nuanso muntu nakondile. uhumile kulaagila kumwili wakwe wihi.
For in many things we all stumble. If anyone does not stumble in word, this one is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
3 Itegwa kang'wi kuuika ilijamu afarasi mumilomo ao akugombile, hangi kuhueli kuupiula imilomo ehi.
Now if we put bits into the horses' mouths so that they may obey us, we guide their whole body.
4 Hangi mulinge kina iimeli, ingawa nkulu kusukung'wa nung'we ga nuukulu, hangi kuhumile kupeula imiile ao ihi.
And look at the ships also, though they are so big and are driven by fierce winds, are yet guided by a very small rudder, wherever the pilot desires.
5 Kuu uu anga kelume, kintu kiniino mumwili, wisumbula pakulu du. Sigozi kote kehaka nikikulu kihumile kusonswa ninzae nino niyamoto!
So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest.
6 Ululime nulwensogaa moto, ukumbigulu wa ulugu, uikilwe mumo muingo ya miile itu, inge wikanza umwiili wihi hangi wiikwa migulya mumoto munzila yalikalo, nuwenso wikansoswa numoto nuwakuulungu. (Geenna g1067)

7 Kila ikikali kamihaka, nyunyi, niikugenda pehi nekekali kamuluze iza ikaiwe ni antu.
For all kinds of animals, and birds, of reptiles and sea creatures, are being tamed and have been tamed by humankind.
8 Inge kutile umuntu anga nung'wi, nuhumile kululagila ululime, ingi ubi nisinga wikilaga, nuwizoe kizume nuubulagi.
But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Kululimi kimukulya umukulu nu Tata witu, hangi kululeme lulo keazuma iantu niaumbilwe, kupyani ang'wi Tunda.
With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people, who are made in the image of God.
10 Kumulomo wuwo wuwo witambula nkani yakukembetwa nukuzung'wa. Aluna ane emakani aya singangaanonee.
Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
11 Ikolyo, uluzi lung'wi lahuma kupumyane imaze nimaza nayanimaluluu?
Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water?
12 Aluna ane ikolyo ikota la mutini lahumane kutuga inkali yamuzeituni, ang'wi umuzabibu ukutugane inkali niamutini? Anga injilyo namazi nimalulu shikipumya imazi nisinga malulu.
Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Nor is salt water able to produce sweet.
13 Nyenyu mung'wanyu nukete uupolo nuumanyi? Ebu umuntu uyu walagiile ulikalo nuluza mumilimo akwe nuupolonuupumie mumahala.
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
14 Angize mukete wilu nuutaki mumasigo yawinyene munkola yanyu, muleke kuhumbula kuligitya uuteele nukuligitya itai.
But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and do not lie against the truth.
15 Uwu singa upolo nuupumile kigulya, inge upumile muunkumbigulu, singa akinkolo, akiheng'wi.
This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
16 Kunsoko paukole uwetu niwitengi ukole, ukole wibulugi ni ntendo nimbe.
For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
17 Upolo nuupimie kigulya, kwanza uza, hangi wilowa upolo, uupoelu nimahala, nizue ukende nuuhuili nuuza singawi kuila anga antu antu ni tai.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy.
18 Ni nkali yatai yetemelwa muupolo kuawa niituma inkani ya upolo.
Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
