Bilangan 36
1 Para kepala keluarga dalam kaum Gilead, anak Makhir, yaitu cucu Manasye, anak Yusuf, pergi menghadap Musa dan pemimpin-pemimpin lainnya.
The heads of the fathers’ households of the family of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh [Causing to forget], of the families of the sons of Joseph [May he add], came near, and spoke before Moses [Drawn out], and before the princes, the heads of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel [God prevails].
2 Kata mereka, "TUHAN menyuruh kamu membagikan tanah itu kepada orang Israel dengan cara membuang undi. Ia juga menyuruh kamu memberikan tanah pusaka saudara kami Zelafehad kepada anak-anaknya perempuan.
They said, “Adonai enjoined my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the children of Israel [God prevails]. My lord was enjoined by Adonai to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.
3 Tetapi perlu diingat bahwa apabila mereka itu kawin dengan orang laki-laki dari suku lain, tanah mereka jatuh ke tangan suku itu. Dengan demikian tanah yang ditentukan sebagai wilayah kami akan berkurang.
If they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel [God prevails], then will their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers, and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong. So will it be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.
4 Dalam Tahun Pengembalian, pada waktu seluruh harta milik yang telah dijual dikembalikan kepada pemiliknya yang semula, tanah anak-anak perempuan Zelafehad itu akan tetap menjadi milik suami-suami mereka, sehingga suku kami kehilangan tanah itu."
When the Jubilee ·Shofar· of the children of Israel [God prevails] shall be, then will their inheritance be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong. So their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.”
5 Lalu Musa menyampaikan kepada bangsa Israel perintah ini dari TUHAN, "Apa yang dikatakan orang-orang keturunan Yusuf itu benar,
Moses [Drawn out] enjoined the children of Israel [God prevails] according to Adonai’s word, saying, “The tribe of the sons of Joseph [May he add] speaks right.
6 dan karena itu TUHAN berkata bahwa anak-anak perempuan Zelafehad bebas kawin dengan siapa saja yang mereka sukai, asal yang sama sukunya dengan mereka.
This is the thing which Adonai does enjoin concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, ‘Let them be married to whom they think best; only they shall marry into the family of the tribe of their father.
7 Tanah pusaka setiap orang Israel akan tetap terikat kepada sukunya.
So shall no inheritance of the children of Israel [God prevails] move from tribe to tribe; for the children of Israel [God prevails] shall all keep the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8 Setiap wanita yang mewarisi tanah pusaka di dalam salah satu suku bangsa Israel, harus kawin dengan orang dari suku itu juga. Dengan demikian setiap orang Israel akan mewarisi tanah pusaka nenek moyangnya,
Every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel [God prevails] shall be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel [God prevails] may each possess the inheritance of his fathers.
9 sehingga tanah pusaka itu tidak berpindah-pindah dari satu suku ke suku yang lain. Setiap suku bangsa Israel akan tetap memiliki tanah pusakanya sendiri."
So shall no inheritance move from one tribe to another tribe; for the tribes of the children of Israel [God prevails] shall each keep his own inheritance.’”
10 Jadi sesuai dengan perintah TUHAN kepada Musa, kelima anak perempuan Zelafehad itu, yakni Mahla, Tirza, Hogla, Milka dan Noa kawin dengan orang-orang yang masih saudara dari pihak ayah.
The daughters of Zelophehad did as Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out]:
for Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Noah [Rest], the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to their dod ·father’s· brothers’ sons.
12 Mereka kawin dengan orang-orang dari kaum-kaum dalam suku bangsa Manasye, anak Yusuf. Dengan demikian tanah pusaka mereka tetap menjadi milik suku bangsa ayah mereka.
They were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh [Causing to forget] the son of Joseph [May he add]. Their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
13 Itulah peraturan-peraturan dan ketetapan-ketetapan yang diberikan TUHAN kepada bangsa Israel melalui Musa, waktu bangsa Israel ada di dataran Moab di tepi Sungai Yordan, dekat kota Yerikho.
These are the mitzvot ·instructions· and the judgments which Adonai enjoined by the hand of Moses [Drawn out] to the children of Israel [God prevails] in the plains of Moab [From father] by the Jordan [Descender] across from Jericho [Fragrant, Moon].
