Dagiti Proverbio 20
1 Ti arak ket kasla mananglalais ken ti naingel a mainom ket kasla makaringgor; saan a nasirib ti siasinoman nga iyaw-awan ti arak.
Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, And he that reeleth with it is not wise.
2 Ti panagbuteng iti ari ket kasla panagbuteng iti agngerngernger nga urbon a leon; ti mangpaunget kenkuana ket mapukawna ti biagna.
The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion; He who provoketh him sinneth against himself.
3 Pakaidayawan ti siasinoman ti mangliklik iti riri, ngem makibiang ti maag iti panagsinnuppiat.
It is an honor to a man to cease from strife; Bur every fool rusheth into it.
4 Saan nga agarado ti maysa a sadut a tao iti tiempo a masapulen nga agmula; agbirokto isuna iti maapit iti tiempo ti panagaapit ngem awanto ti maapitna.
The sluggard will not plough by reason of the cold; Therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5 Dagiti panggep nga adda iti puso ti maysa a tao ket kasla adalem a danum, ngem addanto mannakaawat a tao a mangparuar kadagitoy.
A design in the heart of a man is like deep waters; But a man of understanding draweth it out.
6 Adu a tao ti mangibagbaga a napudnoda, ngem adda aya met masarakam a tao a napudno?
Many will proclaim their own kindness; But a faithful man who can find?
7 Ti tao nga agar-aramid iti nalinteg ket agbibiag iti kinapudnona, ken naragsak dagiti annakna a sumarsaruno kenkuana.
He who walketh in his integrity is a righteous man; Happy will be his children after him!
8 Ti ari nga agtugtugaw iti tronona a mangar-aramid kadagiti pagrebbengan ti maysa nga ukom ket arigna a tataepanna babaen kadagiti matana dagiti amin a dakes nga adda iti sangoananna.
The king, sitting upon the throne of judgment, Scattereth with his eyes all the wicked like chaff.
9 Siasino ti makaibaga a, “Pinagtalinaedko a nadalus ti pusok; nawayawayaanak manipud iti basol”?
Who can say, “I have kept my heart clean; I am free from my sin?”
10 Kagurgura ni Yahweh ti panangbaliw iti umno a timbang kasta met ti nakaor a rukod.
Divers weights and divers measures, —Both of them are an abomination to the LORD.
11 Uray ti agtutubo ket mabalin a maammoan ti kababalinna babaen kadagiti tignayna, mabalin a maammoan no nadalus wenno nalinteg ti aramidna.
Even in childhood one maketh himself known by his doings, Whether his actions will be pure and right.
12 Dagiti lapayag a makangngeg ken dagiti mata a makakita-agpada nga inaramid ni Yahweh dagitoy.
The ear that heareth, and the eye that seeth, —The LORD made them both.
13 Saanmo nga ayaten ti pannaturog di la ket ta agbalinka a nakurapay; lukatam dagiti matam ket maaddaanka iti nawadwad a makan.
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; Open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
14 “Nagngina metten!” kuna ti gumatang, ngem inton makapanawen isuna ket agpaspasindayagen.
“Bad! bad!” saith the buyer; But when he hath gone his way, then he boasteth.
15 Adda balitok ken adu ti agkakangina a batbato, ngem maiyarig a napateg nga alahas dagiti nasirib a sasao.
There is gold and abundance of pearls; But the lips of knowledge are a precious vase.
16 Alaem ti pagan-anay no ti makinkukua iti pagan-anay ket pinatalgedanna ti kuarta nga inutang ti maysa a saanna nga am-ammo, ken pagbalinem nga isuna ti agbalin a pammatalged no patalgedanna dagiti mannakikamalala.
Take his garment who is surety for another; Yea, take a pledge of him who is bound for a stranger.
17 Nasam-it ti raman ti tinapay a naala babaen iti panangallilaw, ngem kalpasan dayta, mapnonto iti darat ti ngiwat ti nangan.
The bread of falsehood is sweet to a man; But afterwards his mouth is filled with gravel.
18 Dagiti plano ket maar-aramid babaen iti balakad, ken sakanto laeng makigubat no adda nasirib a naibalakad kenka.
Purposes are established by counsel; Therefore with good advice make war.
19 Ti managtsismis ket agibutaktak kadagiti palimed, ket isu a saanka a rumbeng a makikadua kadagiti tattao a nasao unay.
He who goeth about as a tale-bearer revealeth secrets; Therefore associate not with him who keepeth open his lips.
20 No ilunlunod ti maysa a tao ti ama wenno ti inana, maiddepto ti pagsilawanna iti tengnga ti kasipngetan.
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, His lamp shall be put out in midnight darkness.
21 Ti tawid a nalaka a makagun-od iti damo ket bassitto laeng ti nasayaat maaramidanna iti udina.
A possession may be gotten hastily in the beginning, But in the end it will not be blessed.
22 Saanmo nga ibaga a, “Balsenkanto iti daytoy a nagbiddutam kaniak!” Urayem a ni Yahweh ti mangispal kenka.
Say not thou, “I will repay evil;” Wait on the LORD, and he will help thee.
23 Kagurgura ni Yahweh dagiti nakaor a panangtimbang, ken saan a nasayaat dagiti nakusit a pagtimbangan.
Divers weights are an abomination to the LORD, And a false balance is not good.
24 Iturturong ni Yahweh dagiti addang ti maysa a tao; kasanona koma ngay ngarud a maawatan dagiti pasamak iti biagna?
A man's steps are from the LORD; How, then, can a man understand his way?
25 Maiyarig a maysa a silo para iti maysa a tao ti panaggaganatna a mangibaga a, “Nasantoan daytoy a banag,” sana rugian a panunoten ti maipapan iti kayat a sawen dayta a banag kalpasan laeng iti panagsapatana.
It is a snare to a man to utter a vow rashly, And after vows to consider.
26 Itataep ti masirib nga ari dagiti nadangkes, sana padalanan dagitoy iti pagir-irik.
A wise king scattereth the wicked like chaff, And bringeth over them the wheel.
27 Ti espiritu ti maysa a tao ket maiyarig a pagsilawan nga inted ni Yahweh, a mangsukimat kadagiti amin a paset iti kaungganna.
The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, Which searcheth all the inner chambers of his body.
28 Ti kinapudno iti tulag ken kinamatalek ti mangsaluad iti ari; ayat ti mangpatalinaed iti tronona.
Mercy and truth preserve the king; Yea, his throne is upholden by mercy.
29 Ti pakaidayawan dagiti agtutubo a lallaki ket ti pigsada, ken ti dayag dagiti natataengan a tattao ket ti ubanda.
The glory of young men is their strength, And the beauty of old men is the gray head.
30 Dagiti dunor ti mangdalus iti kinadakes, ken dagiti saplit ti mangdalus iti kaunggan ti maysa a tao.
Wounding stripes are the remedy for a bad man; Yea, stripes which reach to the inner chambers of the body.
