< Numero 20 >
1 Napan ngarud dagiti tattao ti Israel, ti dagup iti gimong, idiay let-ang ti Sin iti umuna a bulan; nagnaedda idiay Kades. Natay ni Miriam ket naitabon sadiay.
In the first month, the whole congregation of Israel entered the Wilderness of Zin and stayed in Kadesh. There Miriam died and was buried.
2 Sadiay, awan danum nga inumen dagiti tattao, isu a naguummongda a maibusor kada Moses ken Aaron.
Now there was no water for the congregation, so they gathered against Moses and Aaron.
3 Nagriri dagiti tattao kenni Moises. Kinunada, “Nasaysayaat la koman no nataykami idi natay dagiti padami nga Israelita iti sangoanan ni Yahweh!
The people quarreled with Moses and said, “If only we had perished with our brothers before the LORD!
4 Apay nga impanmo dagiti tattao ni Yahweh iti daytoy a let-ang tapno matay ditoy, dakami ken dagiti ay-ayupmi?
Why have you brought the LORD’s assembly into this wilderness for us and our livestock to die here?
5 Ken apay nga inruarnakami idiay Egipto tapno iyegnakami iti daytoy nakarigrigat a lugar? Awan trigo, igos, ubas, wenno granada ditoy. Ken awan danum a mainum.”
Why have you led us up out of Egypt to bring us to this wretched place? It is not a place of grain, figs, vines, or pomegranates—and there is no water to drink!”
6 Isu a pimmanaw da Moises ken Aaron manipud iti sangoanan dagiti taripnong. Napanda iti pagserrekan iti tabernakulo ket nagpaklebda. Sadiay, nagparang kadakuada ti naraniag a dayag ni Yahweh.
Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. They fell facedown, and the glory of the LORD appeared to them.
7 Kinasarita ni Yahweh ni Moises ket kinunana,
And the LORD said to Moses,
8 “Alaem ti sarukodmo ket ummongem dagiti tattao, sika ken ni Aaron a kabsatmo. Kasaom ti dakkel a bato iti imatangda, ket bilinem daytoy a mangipusuak iti danum. Ipaayanyo ida iti danum manipud iti dayta a bato, ken rumbeng nga itedyo daytoy nga inumen dagiti tattao ken dagiti dingoenda.”
“Take the staff and assemble the congregation. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the rock while they watch, and it will pour out its water. You will bring out water from the rock and provide drink for the congregation and their livestock.”
9 Innala ni Moises ti sarukod manipud iti sangoanan ni Yahweh, kas imbilin ni Yahweh nga aramidenna.
So Moses took the staff from the LORD’s presence, just as he had been commanded.
10 Inummong ngarud da Moises ken Aaron ti taripnong iti sangoanan ti dakkel a bato. Kinuna ni Moises kadakuada, “Ita, dumngegkayo, dakayo a sukir. Masapul kadi nga ipaayandakayo iti danum manipud iti daytoy a bato?”
Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly in front of the rock, and Moses said to them, “Listen now, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?”
11 Kalpasanna, inngato ni Moises ti sarukodna sana imbaot daytoy iti namindua iti dakkel a bato, ket adu unay a danum ti pimsuak. Imminom dagiti tattao kasta met dagiti tarakenda.
Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of water gushed out, and the congregation and their livestock were able to drink.
12 Ket kinuna ni Yahweh kada Moises ken Aaron, “Gapu ta saankayo a nagtalek kaniak wenno saandak a sinantipikaran iti imatang dagiti tattao ti Israel, saanyo a maidanon daytoy a taripnong iti daga nga intedko kadakuada.”
But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust Me to show My holiness in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.”
13 Naawagan daytoy a lugar iti danum ti Meriba gapu ta nakiapa kenni Yahweh dagiti tattao ti Israel sadiay, ken impakitana kadakuada ti bagina a kas nasantoan.
These were the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the LORD, and He showed His holiness among them.
14 Manipud Kades, nangibaon ni Moises kadagiti mensahero a mapan iti ari ti Edom: Daytoy ti ibagbaga ti kabsatmo nga Israel:
From Kadesh, Moses sent messengers to tell the king of Edom, “This is what your brother Israel says: You know all the hardship that has befallen us,
15 “Ammon dagiti amin a rigrigat a napaspasamak kadakami. Ammom a simmalog idiay Egipto dagiti kapuonanmi ken nangnaedda sadiay iti nabayag a tiempo. Dakes unay ti inaramid dagiti Egipcio kadakami kasta met dagiti kapuonanmi.
how our fathers went down to Egypt, where we lived many years. The Egyptians mistreated us and our fathers,
16 Idi immawagkami kenni Yahweh, nangngegna ti timekmi ken nangibaon isuna iti anghel, ket impanawnakami manipud Egipto. Adtoy, addakami ditoy Kades, maysa a siudad nga adda iti beddeng ti dagam.
and when we cried out to the LORD, He heard our voice, sent an angel, and brought us out of Egypt. Now look, we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your territory.
17 Dawdawatek kenka a palasatennakami koma iti dagam. Saankami a lumasat iti talonmo wenno kaubasam, wenno uminom iti danum kadagiti bubonmo. Magnakami laeng iti kangrunaan a kalsada ti ari. Saankami a sumiasi iti kannawan wenno kannigid agingga a malabsanmi ti beddengmo.”
Please let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s Highway; we will not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
18 Ngem insungbat ti ari ti Edom kenkuana, “Saan a mabalin a lumasatka ditoy. No aramidem dayta, umayak a sikakampilan a mangdarup kenka.”
But Edom answered, “You may not travel through our land, or we will come out and confront you with the sword.”
19 Ket kinuna dagiti tattao ti Israel kenkuana, “Magnakami laeng iti kangrunaan a kalsada. No uminomkami wenno dagiti tarakenmi iti danummo, bayadanminto daytoy. Palubosandakami laeng koma nga awan ti aniaman a lasaten dagiti sakami.”
“We will stay on the main road,” the Israelites replied, “and if we or our herds drink your water, we will pay for it. There will be no problem; only let us pass through on foot.”
20 Ngem insungbat ti ari ti Edom, “Saankayo a mabalin a lumasat.” Ket rimmuar ti ari ti Edom nga addaan iti napigsa nga ima nga addaan iti adu a soldado.
But Edom insisted, “You may not pass through.” And they came out to confront the Israelites with a large army and a strong hand.
21 Nagkedked ti ari ti Edom a mangipalubos iti ilalasat ti Israel iti beddengda. Gapu iti daytoy, immadayo ti Israel idiay daga ti Edom.
So Edom refused to allow Israel to pass through their territory, and Israel turned away from them.
22 Nagdaliasat ngarud dagiti tattao manipud idiay Kades. Dimmanon dagiti tattao ti Israel, ti dagup ti gimong, idiay Bantay Hor.
After they had set out from Kadesh, the whole congregation of Israel came to Mount Hor.
23 Nagsao ni Yahweh kada Moises ken Aaron idiay Bantay Hor, nga adda iti beddeng ti Edom. Kinunana,
And at Mount Hor, near the border of the land of Edom, the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
24 “Masapul nga ummongen ni Aaron dagiti tattaona, ta saan a makastrek isuna iti daga nga intedkon kadagiti tattao ti Israel. Daytoy ket gapu ta sinukiryo a dua ti saok iti danum idiay Meribah.
“Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land that I have given the Israelites, because both of you rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah.
25 Ikuyogmo ni Aaron ken ni Eleazar nga anakna, ket sumang-atkayo idiay Bantay Hor.
Take Aaron and his son Eleazar and bring them up Mount Hor.
26 Ussobem kenni Aaron ti kawesna a kas padi samonto ipakawes daytoy kenni Eleazar nga anakna. Rumbeng a matay ni Aaron ket maitiponto kadagiti tattaona sadiay.”
Remove Aaron’s priestly garments and put them on his son Eleazar. Aaron will be gathered to his people and will die there.”
27 Inaramid ngarud ni Moises ti imbilin ni Yahweh.
So Moses did as the LORD had commanded, and they climbed Mount Hor in the sight of the whole congregation.
28 Simmang-atda iti Bantay Hor iti imatang dagiti amin a tattao. Inussob ni Moises ti inkawes ni Aaron a kawesna a kas padi sana inpakawes daytoy kenni Eleazar nga anak ni Aaron. Natay ni Aaron iti tuktok ti bantay. Kalpasanna, simmalog da Eleazar ken ni Moises.
After Moses had removed Aaron’s garments and put them on his son Eleazar, Aaron died there on top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.
29 Idi nakita dagiti amin nga Israelita a natayen ni Aaron, dinung-awan ti sibubukel a nasion ni Aaron iti las-ud ti tallopulo nga aldaw.
When the whole congregation saw that Aaron had died, the entire house of Israel mourned for him thirty days.
