< Santiago 5 >

1 Umaykayo itan, dakayo a nabaknang, pigsaanyo ti agsangit gapu kadagiti rigrigat nga umay kadakayo.
O rich men, howl and weep for the miseries which are coming upon you.
2 Dagiti kinabaknangyo ket nalungsot ken dagiti kawesyo ket inibus iti buut.
Your riches are corrupt and stink, and your vestments are eaten of the moth,
3 Dagiti balitok ken pirakyo ket naawanan iti pateg, ken ti panaglatida ti mangpaneknekto maibusor kadakayo ken ibusenda ti lasagyo a kasla iti apuy. Inlemmengyo dagiti gamengyo kadagiti maudi nga al-aldaw.
and your gold and your silver rusteth, and the rust of them is for a witness against you, and is to eat your flesh. You have gathered fire for you for the last days!
4 Kitaenyo, ti tangdan dagiti agtrabtrabaho- dagiti saanyo a binayadan para iti panagapitda kadagiti taltalonyo- umaw-awagda! Ken dagiti asug dagiti nagapit kadagiti mula ket dimmanon kadagiti lapayag ti Apo dagiti Armada.
Lo, the hire of the labourers who have reaped your lands, which you have refused, clamoureth, and the cry of the harvests to the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth hath ascended.
5 Nagbiagkayo iti nalabes a nam-ay ditoy rabaw ti daga ken pinabus-oyanyo dagiti bagbagiyo. Pinalukmegyo dagiti pusoyo a maipaay iti aldaw iti panagparti.
For you have lived daintily on the earth, and have been wanton, and have nourished your bodies, as for the day of slaughter.
6 Inukom ken pinatayyo dagiti nalinteg a saan nga makapagkedked kadakayo.
You have condemned and have killed the just, and he hath not resisted you.
7 Ngarud aganuskayo, kakabsat, agingga iti iyaay ti Apo, kasla iti mannalon nga agur-uray iti napateg nga apit iti daga, agur-uray a siaanus para iti daytoy, agingga a dagiti nasapa ken naladaw a tudo ket agtinnag.
BUT you, my brethren, prolong your spirit until the coming of the Lord; as the husbandman who expecteth the precious fruits of his lands, and prolongeth his spirit for them, until he receive the rain the early and the latter;
8 Aganuskayo met; patalgedenyo dagiti pusoyo, gapu ta asidegen ti iyaay ti Apo.
so also you, prolong your spirit, and your hearts confirm; for the coming of our Lord draweth nigh.
9 Saankayo nga agdayamudom, kakabsat, a maibusor iti maysa ken maysa, tapno saankayo a maukom. Kitaenyo, ti ukom ket agtaktakder iti ruangan.
Groan not one against another, my brethren, that you be not judged; for, behold, the Judge standeth before the door.
10 Kas pangarigan, kakabsat, panunotenyo a nalaing dagiti panagsagsagaba ken kinaanus dagiti profeta a nagsao iti nagan ti Apo.
The example of the prophets take to you, my brethren, to prolong your spirits in your afflictions, them who have spoken in the name of the Lord.
11 Kitaenyo, awagantayo dagiti agibtur, a “nagasat.” Nangngeganyo ti kinaanus ni Job, ken ammoyo ti panggep ti Apo ken ni Job, no kasano a ti Apo ket napnoan iti ayat ken asi.
For, behold, we give blessedness to them who have endured. You have heard of the patience of Iob, and the end which the Lord wrought for him you have seen; because that merciful is the Lord and compassionate.
12 Kangrunaan iti amin, kakabsatko, saankayo nga agsapata, babaen iti langit wenno iti daga, wenno babaen iti aniaman a sabali a sapata. Ngem ti kayat koma a sawen ti “wen a kunayo” ket “wen” ken ti “saan a kunayo” ket “saan,” tapno saankayo a matinnag iti pannakaukom.
But before every thing, my brethren, swear not; by heaven nor by earth, nor with any other oath; but let your word be Yes, yes, and No, no, that you be not bound under condemnation.
13 Adda kadi ti agsagsagaba kadakayo? Masapul nga agkararag isuna. Adda kadi ti naragsak kadakayo? Pagkantaenyo isuna iti pagdaydayaw.
And if any of you be in affliction, let him pray; and if he rejoice, let him sing;
14 Adda kadi ti agsakit kadakayo? Palubosanyo nga ayabanna dagiti panglakayen iti iglesia, ket ikararag koma isuna dagiti panglakayen, sapsapuanda isuna babaen iti lana a maigapu iti nagan ti Apo,
and if he be sick, let him call for the presbyters of the church, and they will pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of our Lord.
15 ket ti kararag iti pammati isalakannanto dayta a masakit a tao, ket pagungarento ti Apo isuna. No nagbasol isuna, pakawanento isuna iti Dios.
And the prayer of faith shall make whole him who was sick, and our Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16 Ngarud, ipudnoyo dagiti basolyo iti tunggal maysa, ken ikararaganyo ti maysa ken maysa, tapno maagasankayo. Ti kararag iti nalinteg a tao ket mangpataud iti adu a pagbanagan.
But confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. For great is the power of that prayer which the righteous prayeth.
17 Ni Elias ket maysa a tao nga addaan iti rikna a kasla kadatayo. Nagkararag isuna a sipapasnek a saan koma nga agtudo, ket saan a nagtudo iti daga iti las-ud iti tallo a tawen ken innem a bulan.
Elia also was a man of suffering, as we; and he prayed that the rain should not fall upon the earth, and it fell not (for) three years and six months.
18 Ket nagkararag manen ni Elias, ket imbukbok ti langlangit ti tudo iti daga ket nagpataud ti daga iti apit.
And again he prayed, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth gave her fruits.
19 Kakabsatko, no maiyaw-awan ti siasinoman kadakayo manipud iti kinapudno, ngem iturong isuna ti maysa a tao nga agsubli,
my brethren, if any of you shall err from the way of truth, and one shall convert him from his error,
20 maammoanna koma a ti siasinoman a mangidalan iti managbasol a pumanaw manipud iti biddut iti dalanna ket maisalakannanto ti kararuana manipud iti patay ket kalubannanto ti adu a basbasol.
let him know, that he who turneth a sinner from the error of his way, saveth his soul from death, and hideth the multitude of his sins.
