“To the chief musician upon Shoshannim; an 'Eduth by Assaph; a psalm.” O Shepherd of Israel, give ear, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
2 nʼihu Ifrem, Benjamin na Manase. Kpọtee ịdị ike gị, bịa zọpụta anyị.
Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Menasseh awaken thy might, and come to our help.
3 O Chineke, kpọghachi anyị azụ, mee ka ihu gị nwukwasị anyị, ka e nwee ike ịzọpụta anyị.
O God, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
4 O Onyenwe anyị, Chineke, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile ruo ole mgbe ka iwe gị ga-adị ọkụ megide ekpere ndị gị?
O Lord of hosts, how long shall thy anger smoke against the prayer of thy people?
5 I jirila anya mmiri dịka a ga-asị na ọ bụ achịcha zụọ ha nri; i meela ka ha ṅụọ anya mmiri nʼihe ọtụtụ.
Thou feedest them with the bread of tears, and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
6 I meela ka anyị bụrụ ihe na-eweta esemokwu nʼetiti ndị agbataobi anyị, ndị iro anyị na-achịkwa anyị ọchị.
Thou renderest us a contest unto our neighbors: and our enemies hold derision among themselves.
7 O Chineke, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, kpọghachi anyị azụ, mee ka ihu gị nwukwasị anyị, ka e nwee ike ịzọpụta anyị.
O God of hosts, cause us to return, and let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
8 I sitere nʼala Ijipt wepụta osisi vaịnị; ị chụpụrụ mba ndị ọzọ, kụọ ya.
A vine didst thou remove out of Egypt: thou drovest out nations, and plantedst it.
9 Ị sụchaara ya ala, mgbọrọgwụ ya bara nʼime ala nke ọma, o jupụtakwara ala ahụ niile.
Thou didst clear out a place before it, and it struck its root deeply, and it filled the land.
10 Ndo ya kpuchiri ugwu niile, alaka ya gbasara kpuchie osisi sida ukwu sida.
Mountains were covered with its shadow, and with its boughs the cedars of God.
11 Ọ wasaala alaka ya ruo oke osimiri wasaakwa ume ya ruo osimiri.
It sent out its tendrils as far as the sea, and unto the river its suckers.
12 Gịnị mere i ji tiwasịa mgbidi ya niile si otu a mee ka ndị niile na-agafe ghọrọ mkpụrụ ya?
Wherefore hast thou now broken down its fences, so that all who pass by the way pluck the fruit from it?
13 Oke ezi si nʼoke ọhịa na-emebisi ya, ụmụ ahụhụ si nʼọhịa dị iche iche na-ejikwa ya emere ihe oriri.
The boar out of the forest doth gnaw at it, and what moveth on the field feedeth on it.
14 Lọghachikwute anyị, O Chineke, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile. Si nʼeluigwe ledata anya ma hụ! Letakwa osisi vaịnị a,
O God of hosts, return; I pray thee, look down from heaven, and behold, and think of this vine;
15 mgbọrọgwụ nke aka nri gị kụrụ, ọkpara nke ị zụlitere nye onwe gị.
And of the sprout which thy right hand hath planted, and of the branch that thou hast made strong for thyself.
16 E gbutuola osisi vaịnị gị, e ji ọkụ repịa ya; mgbe ị bara mba, ndị gị na-ala nʼiyi.
It is burnt with fire, it is hewn down; because of the rebuke of thy countenance do they perish.
17 Ka aka gị dịkwasị nwoke ahụ nọ nʼaka nri gị, nwa nke mmadụ onye ị zụlitere nye onwe gị.
Let thy hand be over the man of thy right hand, over the son of man whom thou hast made strong for thyself.
18 Mgbe ahụ, anyị agaghị esikwa nʼebe ị nọ laghachi azụ; tutee anyị, anyị ga-akpọkukwa aha gị.
Then will we not swerve from thee: revive us again, and we will call on thy name.
19 Kpọghachi anyị azụ, O Onyenwe anyị, Chineke, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile mee ka ihu gị nwukwasị anyị, ka e nwee ike zọpụta anyị.
O Lord God of hosts, cause us to return: let thy countenance shine, that we may be saved.
