תהילים 37

1 לדוד אל-תתחר במרעים אל-תקנא בעשי עולה

Of David - may not you fret yourself in the evil-doers may not you be jealous of [those who] do unrighteousness.

2 כי כחציר מהרה ימלו וכירק דשא יבולון

For like grass quickly they will wither and like [the] greenery of vegetation they will fade!

3 בטח ביהוה ועשה-טוב שכן-ארץ ורעה אמונה

Trust in Yahweh and do good dwell [the] land and graze faithfulness.

4 והתענג על-יהוה ויתן-לך משאלת לבך

And take delight on Yahweh so he may give to you [the] requests of heart your.

5 גול על-יהוה דרכך ובטח עליו והוא יעשה

Roll on Yahweh way your and rely on him and he he will act.

6 והוציא כאור צדקך ומשפטך כצהרים

And he will bring forth like the light righteousness your and justice your like the noontide.

7 דום ליהוה-- והתחולל-לו אל-תתחר במצליח דרכו באיש עשה מזמות

Be still - to Yahweh and wait longingly for him may not you fret yourself in [one who] makes prosperous way his in a person [who] makes plots.

8 הרף מאף ועזב חמה אל-תתחר אך-להרע

Refrain from anger and forsake rage may not you fret yourself only to do evil.

9 כי-מרעים יכרתון וקוי יהוה המה יירשו-ארץ

For evil-doers they will be cut off! and [those who] wait for Yahweh they they will possess [the] land.

10 ועוד מעט ואין רשע והתבוננת על-מקומו ואיננו

And yet a little and there not [will be the] wicked and you will look carefully on place his and there not [will be] he.

11 וענוים יירשו-ארץ והתענגו על-רב שלום

And humble [people] they will possess [the] land and they will take delight on abundance of well-being.

12 זמם רשע לצדיק וחרק עליו שניו

[is] plotting [the] wicked To the righteous and [is] gnashing towards him teeth his.

13 אדני ישחק-לו כי-ראה כי-יבא יומו

[the] Lord He laughs to him for he sees that it will come day his.

14 חרב פתחו רשעים-- ודרכו קשתם להפיל עני ואביון לטבוח ישרי-דרך

A sword - they have drawn wicked [people] and they have bent bow their to make fall [the] poor and [the] needy to slaughter [people] upright of way.

15 חרבם תבוא בלבם וקשתותם תשברנה

Sword their it will go in own heart their and bows their they will be broken.

16 טוב-מעט לצדיק-- מהמון רשעים רבים

[is] good [the] little Of the righteous more than [the] wealth of wicked [people] many.

17 כי זרועות רשעים תשברנה וסומך צדיקים יהוה

For [the] arms of wicked [people] they will be broken and [is] sustaining righteous [people] Yahweh.

18 יודע יהוה ימי תמימם ונחלתם לעולם תהיה

[is] knowing Yahweh [the] days of blameless [people] and inheritance their for ever it will be.

19 לא-יבשו בעת רעה ובימי רעבון ישבעו

Not they will be ashamed in a time evil and in days of famine they will be satisfied.

20 כי רשעים יאבדו ואיבי יהוה כיקר כרים כלו בעשן כלו

For wicked [people] - they will perish and [the] enemies of Yahweh [will be] like a splendid [thing] of pastures they will come to an end in smoke they will come to an end.

21 לוה רשע ולא ישלם וצדיק חונן ונותן

[is] borrowing [the] wicked And not he repays and [the] righteous [is] showing favor and giving.

22 כי מברכיו יירשו ארץ ומקלליו יכרתו

For blessed [ones] his they will possess [the] land and cursed [ones] his they will be cut off.

23 מיהוה מצעדי-גבר כוננו ודרכו יחפץ

From Yahweh [the] steps of a man they are established and way his he delights in.

24 כי-יפל לא-יוטל כי-יהוה סומך ידו

For he will fall not he will be thrown down for Yahweh [is] supporting hand his.

25 נער הייתי-- גם-זקנתי ולא-ראיתי צדיק נעזב וזרעו מבקש-לחם

A young man - I have been also I am old and not I have seen [the] righteous forsaken and offspring his seeking food.

26 כל-היום חונן ומלוה וזרעו לברכה

All the day [he is] showing favor and [he is] lending and offspring his [become] a blessing.

27 סור מרע ועשה-טוב ושכן לעולם

Turn away from evil and do good and dwell for ever.

28 כי יהוה אהב משפט ולא-יעזב את-חסידיו לעולם נשמרו וזרע רשעים נכרת

For Yahweh - [is] loving justice and not he will abandon faithful [people] his for ever they are preserved and [the] offspring of wicked [people] it is cut off.

29 צדיקים יירשו-ארץ וישכנו לעד עליה

Righteous [people] they will possess [the] land so they may dwell for ever on it.

30 פי-צדיק יהגה חכמה ולשונו תדבר משפט

[the] mouth of [the] righteous It utters wisdom and tongue his it speaks justice.

31 תורת אלהיו בלבו לא תמעד אשריו

[the] law of God his [is] in heart his not it slips steps his.

32 צופה רשע לצדיק ומבקש להמיתו

[is] watching A wicked [person] for righteous [person] and [is] seeking to kill him.

33 יהוה לא-יעזבנו בידו ולא ירשיענו בהשפטו

Yahweh not he will abandon him in hand his and not he will condemn as guilty him when is judged he.

34 קוה אל-יהוה ושמר דרכו וירוממך לרשת ארץ בהכרת רשעים תראה

Wait to Yahweh - and keep way his and he will exalt you to possess [the] land when are cut off wicked [people] you will see.

35 ראיתי רשע עריץ ומתערה כאזרח רענן

I have seen a wicked [person] ruthless and spreading himself like a native tree luxuriant.

36 ויעבר והנה איננו ואבקשהו ולא נמצא

And he passed away and there! there not [was] he and I sought him and not he was found.

37 שמר-תם וראה ישר כי-אחרית לאיש שלום

Watch [the] blameless and see [the] upright for a future [belongs] to a person of peace.

38 ופשעים נשמדו יחדו אחרית רשעים נכרתה

And transgressors they will be destroyed altogether [the] future of wicked [people] it will be cut off.

39 ותשועת צדיקים מיהוה מעוזם בעת צרה

And [the] salvation of righteous [people] [is] from Yahweh place of refuge their in a time of trouble.

40 ויעזרם יהוה ויפלטם יפלטם מרשעים ויושיעם--כי-חסו בו

And he helped them Yahweh and he delivered them he delivers them from wicked [people] and he saves them for they have taken refuge in him.
