< Ioba 25 >
1 A LAILA olelo aku la o Biledada, no Suha, i aku la,
Then responded Bildad the Shuhite, and said: —
2 Ia ia no ke alii ana a me ka makaulia, A hana no ia i ke kuikahi ma kona mau wahi kiekie.
Dominion and dread, are with him, who causeth prosperity among his lofty ones;
3 Ua heluia anei kona mau poe koa? A maluna owai la i puka ole mai ai kona malamalama?
Is there any number to his troops? And upon whom ariseth not his light?
4 A pehea la e hoaponoia'i ke kanaka imua o ke Akua? A pehea la e maemae ai ka mea i hanauia e ka wahine?
How then shall, a mortal, be just with GOD? Or how shall he be pure who is born of a woman?
5 E nana i ka mahina, aole ia e aiai; A o na hoku aole e maemae imua o kona maka:
Look as far as the moon, and it is not clear, and, the stars, are not bright in his eyes!
6 Pehea la hoi ke kanaka, he enuhe; A me ke keiki a ke kanaka, he ilo?
How much less a mortal who is a creeping thing? Or a son of the earth-born who is a worm?
