1 Ubangiji ya ce wa Musa,
Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
2 “Yi wa Isra’ilawa magana ka kuma faɗa musu cewa, ‘Ni ne Ubangiji Allahnku.
“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, 'I am Yahweh your God.
3 Kada ku yi yadda suke yi a Masar inda da kuke zama, kuma ba a ku yi kamar yadda suke yi a ƙasar Kan’ana inda nake kawo ku ba. Kada ku yi yadda suke yin abubuwa.
You must not do the things that the people do in Egypt, where you lived previously. You must not do the things that the people do in Canaan, the land to which I am taking you. Do not follow their customs.
4 Dole ku kiyaye dokokina kuma ku lura ku bi farillaina. Ni ne Ubangiji Allahnku.
My laws are what you must do, and my commandments are what you must keep, so that you walk in them, because I am Yahweh your God.
5 Ku kiyaye farillaina da dokokina, gama mutumin da ya aikata waɗannan abubuwa zai rayu ta wurinsu. Ni ne Ubangiji.
Therefore you must keep my decrees and my laws. If a person obeys them, he will live because of them. I am Yahweh.
6 “‘Kada wani ya kusaci wani dangi na kusa don yă yi jima’i. Ni ne Ubangiji.
No one must sleep with any close relative to uncover his nakedness. I am Yahweh.
7 “‘Kada ka ƙasƙantar da mahaifinka ta wurin kwana da mahaifiyarka. Ita mahaifiyarka ce; kada ka yi jima’i da ita.
Do not dishonor your father by sleeping with your mother. She is your mother! You must not dishonor her.
8 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da matar mahaifinka, wannan zai ƙasƙantar da mahaifinka.
Do not sleep with any of your father's wives; you must not dishonor your father like that.
9 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da’yar’uwarka, ko’yar mahaifinka ko’yar mahaifiyarka, ko an haife ta a gida ɗaya da kai ko kuwa a wani wuri dabam.
Do not sleep with any sister of yours, whether she is the daughter of your father or the daughter of your mother, whether she was raised at your home or distant from you. You must not sleep with your sisters.
10 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da’yar ɗanka ko’yar’yarka, wannan zai ƙasƙantar da kai.
Do not sleep with your son's daughter or with your daughter's daughter. That would be your own shame.
11 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da’yar matar mahaifinka wadda aka haifa wa mahaifinka; ita’yar’uwarka ce.
Do not sleep with your father's wife's daughter, who was born of your father. She is your sister, and you must not sleep with her.
12 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da’yar’uwar mahaifinka, ita dangin mahaifinka ne na kusa.
Do not sleep with your father's sister. She is a close relative to your father.
13 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da’yar’uwar mahaifiyarka, domin ita dangin mahaifiyarka ce na kusa.
Do not sleep with your mother's sister. She is a close relative to your mother.
14 “‘Kada ka ƙasƙantar da ɗan’uwan mahaifinka ta wurin kusaci matarsa don ka yi jima’i da ita, ita bābarka ce.
Do not dishonor the brother of your father by sleeping with his wife. Do not go near her for that purpose; she is your aunt.
15 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da matar ɗanka. Ita matar ɗanka ne; kada ka yi jima’i da ita.
Do not sleep with your daughter-in-law. She is your son's wife; do not sleep with her.
16 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da matar ɗan’uwanka; wannan zai ƙasƙanta ɗan’uwanka.
Do not sleep with your brother's wife; do not dishonor him in this way.
17 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da mace da kuma’yarta. Kada ka yi jima’i da’yar ɗanta ko’yar’yarta; su danginta ne na kusa. Wannan mugun abu ne.
Do not sleep with a woman and her daughter, or with her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter. They are close relatives to her, and sleeping with them would be wicked.
18 “‘Kada ka auri’yar’uwar matarka ta zama kishiyar matarka ka kuma yi jima’i da ita yayinda matarka tana da rai.
You must not marry your wife's sister as a second wife and sleep with her while your first wife is alive.
19 “‘Kada ka kusaci mace don ka yi jima’i da ita a lokacin ƙazantar al’adarta.
Do not sleep with a woman during her menstruation. She is unclean during that time.
20 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da matar maƙwabcinka ka ƙazantar da kanka tare da ita.
Do not sleep with your neighbor's wife and defile yourself with her in this way.
21 “‘Kada ku ba da wani daga cikin’ya’yanku don a yi hadaya wa Molek, gama ba za ku ƙasƙantar da sunan Allahnku ba. Ni ne Ubangiji.
You must not give any of your children to put them into the fire, so that you sacrifice them to Molech, because you must not profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.
22 “‘Kada ka kwana da namiji kamar yadda namiji yakan kwana da ta mace, wannan abin ƙyama ne.
Do not sleep with other men as with a woman. This would be wicked.
23 “‘Kada ka yi jima’i da dabba ka ƙazantar da kanka. Mace ba za tă ba da kanta ga dabba don yă yi jima’i da ita ba; wannan abin ƙyama ne.
Do not sleep with any animal and defile yourself with it. No woman must consider sleeping with any animal. This would be perversion.
24 “‘Kada ku ƙazantar da kanku da wani daga cikin waɗannan, domin haka al’umman da zan kora a gabanku suka ƙazantu.
Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, for in all these ways the nations are defiled, the nations that I will drive out from before you.
25 Har ƙasar ma ta ƙazantu, saboda haka na hukunta ta saboda zunubinta, ƙasar kuwa ta amayar da mazaunanta.
The land became defiled, so I punished their sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.
26 Amma dole ku kiyaye farillaina da kuma dokokina. Kada haifaffe ɗan ƙasa da baƙin da suke zama a cikinku yă yi wani daga cikin waɗannan abubuwa banƙyama,
You, therefore, must keep my commandments and decrees, and you must not do any of these detestable things, neither the native-born Israelite nor the foreigner who lives among you.
27 gama mutanen da suka zauna a wannan ƙasa kafin ku sun aikata dukan waɗannan abubuwa, suka kuma ƙazantu.
For this is the wickedness that the people in the land have committed, those who lived here before you, and now the land is defiled.
28 Kuma in kuka ƙazantar da ƙasar, za tă amayar da ku kamar yadda ta amayar da al’umman da suka riga ku.
Therefore be careful so that the land does not vomit you up also after you have defiled it, as it vomited out the people who were before you.
29 “‘Duk wanda ya yi wani daga cikin waɗannan abubuwa banƙyama, dole a fid da mutumin daga cikin mutanensa.
Whoever does any of these detestable things, the persons who do such things will be cut off from among their people.
30 Ku kiyaye umarnaina kuma kada yi ku wata al’ada mai banƙyamar da aka yi kafin ku zo kuma kada ku ƙazantar da kanku da su. Ni ne Ubangiji Allahnku.’”
Therefore you must keep my command not to practice any of these detestable customs which were practiced here before you, so that you do not defile yourselves by them. I am Yahweh your God.'”
