અયૂબ 36

1 ૧ અલીહૂએ બોલવાનું ચાલુ રાખતાં કહ્યું કે,

And Elihu added and said: —

2 ૨ “મને થોડો વધારે સમય બોલવા દો, અને હું તને બતાવીશ કારણ કે હું ઈશ્વરના પક્ષમાં થોડા વધુ શબ્દો કહેવા માગું છું.”

Restrain thyself for me a little, and I will shew thee, that, yet—for GOD, there is justification,

3 ૩ હું દુરથી ડહાપણ લાવીને; મારા સર્જનહાર ઈશ્વર ન્યાયી છે તે હું સાબિત કરીશ.

I will bring my knowledge from afar, and, to my Maker, will I attribute righteousness.

4 ૪ હું તને જણાવું છું કે તે ખરેખર સત્ય છે કેમ કે જે સંપૂર્ણ જ્ઞાની છે તે તારી સાથે છે.

For, of a truth—not false, are my words, One of competent knowledge, is with thee.

5 ૫ જુઓ, ઈશ્વર સર્વશક્તિમાન છે, અને તે કોઈનો પણ તિરસ્કાર કરતા નથી; તે મહા બુદ્ધિમાન અને વિદ્વાન છે.

Lo! GOD, is mighty, yet will he not despise, Mighty in vigour of mind;

6 ૬ તેઓ દુષ્ટોને સાચવતા નથી, પણ ગરીબોના હિતમાં સારું કરે છે.

He will not keep alive one who is lawless, but, the right of oppressed ones, will he grant;

7 ૭ ન્યાયી માણસ પરથી તેઓની દ્રષ્ટિ દૂર કરતા નથી, પણ તેથી વિપરીત, તે તેઓને રાજાઓની સાથે સિંહાસન પર બેસાડે છે, અને તેઓ સદા ઉચ્ચસ્થાન પર રહે છે.

He will not withdraw—from a righteous one—his eyes, —but, with kings on the throne, He hath seated men triumphantly, and they have been exalted.

8 ૮ જો, જેથી કરીને તેઓને સાંકળોએ બાંધવામાં આવ્યા છે, અને તેઓ વિપત્તિમાં સપડાયા છે,

But, if, bound in fetters, they have been captured with cords of affliction,

9 ૯ તેઓએ શું કર્યું છે તે તેઓને જણાવશે, કે તેઓએ કરેલા અપરાધો અને કેવી રીતે અહંકારથી વર્ત્યા છે.

Then hath he declared to them their deed, and their transgressions—that they were wont to behave themselves proudly;

10 ૧૦ તે તેઓના અપરાધોથી પાછા ફરવાનો આદેશ આપશે, અને શિક્ષણ તરફ તેઓના કાન ઉઘાડશે.

Thus hath he uncovered their ear to a warning, and said—that they should turn from iniquity.

11 ૧૧ જો તેઓ તેમનું સાંભળીને તેમની સેવા કરશે તો, તેઓ આયુષ્યના દિવસો સમૃદ્ધિમાં પસાર કરશે, તેઓના જીવનનાં વર્ષો સંતોષથી ભરેલાં થશે.

If they would hearken, and serve, they should complete their days, in prosperity, and their years, in pleasantness;

12 ૧૨ પરંતુ જો, તેઓ તેમનું સાંભળશે નહિ તો, તેઓ અજ્ઞાનતામાં જ મરણ પામશે અને તેઓનો નાશ થશે.

But, if they would not hearken, by a weapon, should they pass away, and breathe their last, no one knowing.

13 ૧૩ જેઓ પોતાના હૃદયથી ઈશ્વર પર ભરોસા રાખતા નથી તેઓ પોતાના હૃદયમાં ગુસ્સો ભેગો કરે છે; ઈશ્વર તેઓને શિક્ષા કરે છે તેમ છતાં તેઓ મદદને માટે પ્રાર્થના કરતા નથી.

Yea, the impious in heart, should store up anger, They should not cry for help, when he bound them.

14 ૧૪ તેઓ તરુણાવસ્થામાં મરણ પામશે; અને કૃપા વિના તેઓના જીવનો નાશ પામશે.

Their soul should die in youth, and their life, among the unclean.

15 ૧૫ ઈશ્વર દુઃખીઓને તેઓના દુઃખમાંથી છોડાવે છે; અને તે તેઓને જુલમ દ્વારા સાંભળતા કરે છે.

He would deliver the humbled in his humiliation, and would uncover—in oppression—their ear.

16 ૧૬ નિશ્ચે, તે તને વિપત્તિમાંથી બહાર લાવ્યા છે. જ્યાં સંકટ ન હોય તેવી વિશાળ જગ્યામાં લઈ જાય છે અને તને ખાવાને માટે પુષ્કળ પ્રમાણમાં ખોરાક પીરસ્યો છે.

Yea he might even have allured thee—out of the mouth of straitness, [into] a wide space—no narrowness there, —and, the food set down on thy table, should have been full of fatness.

17 ૧૭ તને એક દુષ્ટ વ્યક્તિની જેમ સજા થઈ છે; ન્યાયાસન અને ન્યાયે તને પકડ્યો છે.

But, with the plea of a lawless one, thou art full, Plea and sentence, will take fast hold.

18 ૧૮ હવે તમે સાવધ રહેજો, જેથી સમૃદ્ધિ તમને ફોસલાવે નહિ; અને મોટી લાંચ તને ન્યાય કરવાથી પાછો રાખે નહિ.

Because there is wrath, [beware] lest he take thee away with a stroke, Then let not, a great ransom, mislead thee.

19 ૧૯ શું તારી અઢળક સંપત્તિ તને સંકટથી દૂર રાખી શકે છે, અથવા તારી બધી શક્તિ તને મદદ કરી શકે છે?

Will he value thy riches? Nay not precious ore, nor all the forces of strength.

20 ૨૦ અન્યની વિરુદ્ધ પાપ કરવાને રાત્રીની ઇચ્છા ન કર, કે જ્યારે લોકો પોતાની જગ્યાએ નાશ પામે છે.

Do not pant for the night, when peoples disappear from their place.

21 ૨૧ સાવધ રહેજે, પાપ કરવા તરફ ન ફર, કારણ કે તને સંકટમાંથી પસાર કરાવ્યો છે કે જેથી તું પાપ કરવાથી દૂર રહે.

Beware, do not turn unto iniquity, For, this, thou hast chosen rather than affliction.

22 ૨૨ જુઓ, ઈશ્વર તેમનાં સામર્થ્ય દ્વારા મહિમાવાન થાય છે; તેમના જેવો ગુરુ કોઈ છે?

Lo, GOD, exalteth himself by his strength, Who like him doth teach?

23 ૨૩ તેમણે શું કરવું એ કોઈ તેમને કહી શકે ખરું? અથવા કોણ તેમને કહી શકે છે કે, ‘તમે અન્યાય કર્યો છે?’

Who enjoined on him his way? and who ever said, Thou hast wrought perversity?

24 ૨૪ તેમનાં કાર્યોની સ્તુતિ કરવાનું યાદ રાખ, લોકોએ ગાયનો મારફતે તેમની સ્તુતિ કરી છે.

Remember, that thou extol his work, of which men have sung;

25 ૨૫ ઈશ્વરે જે કંઈ કર્યુ છે તે સર્વએ નિહાળ્યું છે, પણ તેઓએ તે કાર્યો દૂરથી જ જોયાં છે.

Every son of earth, hath viewed it, Mortal man, looketh at it from afar.

26 ૨૬ જુઓ, ઈશ્વર મહાન છે, આપણે તેમને સંપૂર્ણપણે સમજી શક્તા નથી; તેમનાં વર્ષોની સંખ્યા અગણિત છે.

Lo, GOD, is greater than we can know, The number of his years, even past finding out!

27 ૨૭ તેઓ પાણીનાં ટીંપાં ઊંચે લઈ જાય છે અને તેનું ઝાકળ અને વરાળ વરસાદમાં રૂપાંતર કરે છે,

For he draweth up drops of water, They trickle as rain through his mist;

28 ૨૮ તે વાદળોમાંથી પૃથ્વી પર વર્ષે છે, અને મનુષ્યો પર પુષ્કળતામાં વરસાવે છે.

With which the clouds flow down, They drop on man in abundance.

29 ૨૯ ખરેખર, વાદળોનો વિસ્તાર કેટલો છે અને તેનાં ગગનમંડપમાં ગર્જનાઓ કેવી રીતે થાય છે તેને કોણ સમજી શકે?

But surely none can understand the burstings of the cloud, the crashing of his pavilion!

30 ૩૦ જુઓ, તેઓ પૃથ્વી પર વીજળી ફેલાવે છે અને મહાસાગરને અંધકારથી ઢાંકી દે છે.

Lo! he hath spread out over it, his lightning, The bed of the sea, hath he covered.

31 ૩૧ આ રીતે ઈશ્વર લોકોને ખવડાવે છે, અને તેઓને ભરપૂર ખોરાક પૂરો પાડે છે.

For, by those things, he executeth judgment on peoples, He giveth food in abundance:

32 ૩૨ તેઓ પોતાના હાથથી વીજળીને પકડે છે, અને તેને પાડવાની હોય ત્યાં પડવાને આજ્ઞા કરે છે.

Upon both hands, he putteth a covering of lightning, and layeth command upon it against an assailant:

33 ૩૩ તેઓની ગર્જના લોકોને આવનાર તોફાન વિષે ચેતવણી આપે છે: તે જાનવર દ્વારા પણ સમાચાર પહોંચાડે છે કે તોફાન નજીક આવી રહ્યું છે.

His rolling thunder telleth concerning him, —The cattle, even, concerning him that is coming up.
