1 ૧ યોશિયાએ યરુશાલેમમાં યહોવાહના માટે પાસ્ખાપર્વ પાળ્યું; અને યોશિયા સહિત લોકોએ પ્રથમ મહિનાના ચૌદમા દિવસે પાસ્ખાનું હલવાન કાપ્યું.
Forsothe Josie made pask to the Lord in Jerusalem, that was offrid in the fourtenthe dai of the firste monethe;
2 ૨ તેણે યાજકોને પોતપોતાને સ્થાને ફરી નિયુક્ત કર્યા અને તેઓને ઈશ્વરના ઘરમાં પોતાની ફરજ બજાવવા માટે ઉત્તેજન આપ્યું.
and he ordeynede prestis in her offices; and he comaundide hem for to mynystre in the hows of the Lord.
3 ૩ તેણે ઈશ્વરને માટે પવિત્ર થયેલા અને ઇઝરાયલને બોધ કરનાર લેવીઓને કહ્યું કે, “ઇઝરાયલના રાજા દાઉદના પુત્ર સુલેમાને બંધાવેલા ઘરમાં પવિત્ર કોશને મૂકો. તમારે તેને ખભા પર ઊંચકવો નહિ. હવે તમે ઈશ્વર તમારા પ્રભુની અને તેમના લોકો, ઇઝરાયલીઓની સેવા કરો;
And he spak to the dekenes, at whos techyng al Israel was halewid to the Lord, Sette ye the arke in the seyntuarie of the temple, which Salomon, kyng of Israel, the sone of Dauid, bildide; for ye schulen no more bere it. But now serue `youre Lord God and his puple Israel,
4 ૪ ઇઝરાયલના રાજા દાઉદ અને તેના પુત્ર સુલેમાનની સૂચનાઓમાં લખ્યા પ્રમાણે તમે તમારા પિતૃઓના કુટુંબો પોતપોતાના વિભાગોમાં ગોઠવાઈ જાઓ.
and make you redi bi youre housis and meynees in the departyngis of ech bi hym silf, as Dauid, king of Israel, comaundide, and Salomon, his sone, discryuede;
5 ૫ તમારા ભાઈઓના પિતૃઓના કુટુંબોના વિભાગો અને વંશજો પ્રમાણે પવિત્ર સ્થાનમાં ઊભા રહો. અને લેવીઓના પિતૃઓના જુદાં જુદાં કુટુંબોના વિભાગ પ્રમાણે તમારું સ્થાન લો.
and serue ye in the seyntuarie bi the meynees and cumpenyes of dekenes,
6 ૬ પાસ્ખાનું હલવાન કાપો; અને પોતાને પવિત્ર કરો. મૂસા દ્વારા અપાયેલા ઈશ્વરના વચન પ્રમાણે તમારા ઇઝરાયલી ભાઈઓ માટે પાસ્ખાની તૈયારી કરો.”
and be ye halewid, and offre ye pask; also `make redi youre britheren, that thei moun `do bi the wordis, whiche the Lord spak in the hond of Moyses.
7 ૭ પાસ્ખાનાં અર્પણો માટે યોશિયાએ લોકોને ત્રીસ હજાર ઘેટાંબકરાંના હલવાનો અને લવારાં આપ્યાં. વળી તેણે ત્રણ હજાર બળદો પણ આપ્યાં. તે સર્વ રાજાની સંપત્તિમાંથી પાસ્ખાના અર્પણોને માટે આપવામાં આવ્યા હતાં.
Ferthermore Josie yaf to al the puple, that was foundun there in the solempnytee of pask, lambren, and kidis of the flockis, and of residue scheep `he yaf thritti thousynde, and of oxis thre thousynde; these thingis of al the catel of the kyng.
8 ૮ તેના અધિકારીઓએ યાજકોને, લેવીઓને અને બાકીના લોકોને ઐચ્છિકાર્પણો આપ્યાં. ઈશ્વરના સભાસ્થાનના અધિકારીઓ હિલ્કિયા, ઝખાર્યા અને યહીએલ યાજકોને પાસ્ખાનાં અર્પણો તરીકે બે હજાર છસો ઘેટાંબકરાં તથા ત્રણસો બળદો આપ્યાં.
And hise duykis offriden tho thingis whiche thei avowiden bi fre wille, as wel to the puple as to prestis and dekenes. Forsothe Elchie, and Zacharie, and Jehiel, princes of the hows of the Lord, yauen to preestis, to make pask in comyn, two thousynde and sixe hundrid scheep, and thre hundrid oxis.
9 ૯ કોનાન્યાએ તથા તેના ભાઈઓએ, એટલે શમાયા તથા નથાનએલે અને લેવીઓના આગેવાનો હશાબ્યા, યેઈએલ તથા યોઝાબાદે લેવીઓને પાસ્ખાર્પણને માટે પાંચ હાજર ઘેટાંબકરાં તથા પાંચસો બળદો આપ્યાં.
Forsothe Chononye, and Semei, and Nathanael and hise britheren, also Asabie, Jahiel, and Josabaz, princis of dekenes, yauen to othere dekenes, to make pask, fyue thousynde of scheep, and fyue hundrid oxis.
10 ૧૦ એમ પાસ્ખાવિધિ સેવાની પૂર્વ વ્યવસ્થા પૂરી થઈ અને રાજાની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે યાજકો પોતાને સ્થાને અને લેવીઓ પણ પોતપોતાનાં વર્ગો પ્રમાણે નિયત સ્થાને ઊભા રહ્યા.
And the seruyce was maad redi; and preestis stoden in her office, and dekenes in cumpenyes, bi comaundement of the kyng; and pask was offrid.
11 ૧૧ તેઓએ પાસ્ખાનાં પશુઓને કાપ્યાં અને યાજકોએ તેઓના હાથમાંથી તેમનું લોહી લઈને છાટ્યું અને લેવીઓએ તે પશુઓનાં ચર્મ ઉતાર્યાં.
And preestis spreynten her hondis with blood, and dekenes drowen of the skynnes of sacrifices, and departiden tho sacrificis,
12 ૧૨ મૂસાના પુસ્તકમાં લખ્યા પ્રમાણે ઈશ્વરને ચઢાવવા સારુ, લોકોનાં કુટુંબોના વિભાગો પ્રમાણે તેઓને આપવા માટે તેઓએ દહનીયાર્પણોને અલગ કર્યાં. બળદોનું પણ તેઓએ એમ જ કર્યું.
for to yyue bi the housis and meyneis of alle men; and that tho schulden be offrid to the Lord, as it is writun in the book of Moises; and of oxis thei diden in lijk maner.
13 ૧૩ તેઓએ પાસ્ખાનાં હલવાનો અગ્નિમાં શેક્યાં. તેઓ પવિત્ર અર્પણોને તપેલાંમાં, કઢાઈઓ તથા તાવડાઓમાં બાફીને, તેમને લોકોની પાસે ઉતાવળે લઈ ગયા.

14 ૧૪ પછી તેઓએ પોતાને માટે તેમ જ યાજકોને માટે તૈયાર કર્યું, કેમ કે યાજકો જે હારુનના વંશજો હતા તેઓ આખીરાત દહનીયાર્પણ તથા મેંદાર્પણ કરવામાં ખૂબ વ્યસ્ત હતા, તેથી લેવીઓએ પોતાને સારુ તથા યાજકો જે હારુનના વંશજો હતા તેઓને સારુ પાસ્ખા તૈયાર કર્યું.
but thei maden redi aftirward to hem silf, and to prestis; for preestis weren occupied `til to nyyt in the offryng of brent sacrifices and of ynnere fatnessis. Wherfor dekenes maden redi to hem silf and to preestis, the sones of Aaron, `the laste.
15 ૧૫ દાઉદ, આસાફ, હેમાન તથા રાજાના પ્રબોધકો યદૂથૂનની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે આસાફના વંશજો, એટલે ગાનારાઓ, પોતપોતાની જગ્યાએ ઊભા હતા. દ્વારપાળો દરેક દરવાજે ઊભા હતા; તેઓને પોતાનાં સેવાસ્થાનેથી પાસ્ખા તૈયાર કરવા જવાની જરૂર નહોતી, કારણ કે તેઓના ભાઈ લેવીઓ તેઓને માટે તૈયાર કરતા હતા.
Forsothe syngeris, the sones of Asaph, stoden in her ordre, bi the comaundement of Dauid, and of Asaph, and of Eman, and of Yditum, the profetis of the kyng; but the porteris kepten bi ech yate, so that thei yeden not awei fro the seruice, sotheli in a poynt; wherfor and dekenes, her britheren, maden redi metis to hem.
16 ૧૬ તેથી તે સમયે યોશિયા રાજાની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે પાસ્ખા પાળવાને લગતી તથા ઈશ્વરની વેદી ઉપર દહનીયાર્પણ ચઢાવવાને લગતી ઈશ્વરની સર્વ સેવા સમાપ્ત થઈ.
Therfor al the religioun of the Lord was fillid riytfuli in that day, that thei maden pask, and offriden brent sacrifices on the auter of the Lord, bi the comaundement of kyng Josie.
17 ૧૭ તે સમયે હાજર રહેલા ઇઝરાયલી લોકોએ પાસ્ખાનું પર્વ તથા બેખમીરી રોટલીનું પર્વ સાત દિવસ સુધી પાળ્યું.
And the sones of Israel, that weren foundun there, maden pask in that tyme, and the solempnite of therf looues seuene daies.
18 ૧૮ શમુએલ પ્રબોધકના સમયથી આજ સુધી ઇઝરાયલમાં તેના જેવું પાસ્ખાપર્વ આ રીતે ઊજવાયું નહોતું. તેમ જ આ જેવું પાસ્ખાપર્વ યોશિયાએ, યાજકોએ, લેવીઓએ, યહૂદિયાના લોકોએ, હાજર રહેલા ઇઝરાયલીઓએ તથા યરુશાલેમના વતનીઓએ પાળ્યું તેવું પાસ્ખાપર્વ ઇઝરાયલના રાજાઓમાંના કોઈએ પણ અગાઉ પાળ્યું નહોતું.

20 ૨૦ આ બધું બન્યા પછી, જ્યારે યોશિયા સભાસ્થાન તૈયાર કરી રહ્યો, ત્યારે મિસરનો રાજા નકોએ યુદ્ધ કરવા માટે ફ્રાતના કાંઠા પરના કાર્કમીશ ઉપર ચઢી આવ્યો. યોશિયા તેનો સામનો કરવા ગયો.
Aftir that Josie hadde reparelid the temple, Nechao, the kyng of Egipt, stiede to fiyte in Carcamys bisidis Eufrates; and Josie yede forth in to his metyng.
21 ૨૧ પરંતુ નખોએ તેની પાસે એલચીઓ મોકલીને કહેવડાવ્યું કે, “ઓ યહૂદિયાના રાજા, મારે અને તારે શું છે? આજે હું તારી સાથે લડવા નથી આવ્યો, પણ જેની સાથે મારી દુશ્મનાવટ છે તે રાજા સાથે લડવા આવ્યો છું. ઈશ્વરે મને ઉતાવળ કરવાની આજ્ઞા આપી છે, જે ઈશ્વર મારી સાથે છે તેમની ઇચ્છાની વિરુદ્ધ દખલગીરી કરીશ નહિ, રખેને તે તારો પણ નાશ કરે.”
And he seide bi messangeris sent to hym, Kyng of Juda, what is to me and to thee? Y come not ayens thee to dai, but Y fiyte ayens another hows, to which God bad me go in haste; ceesse thou to do ayens God, which is with me, lest he sle thee.
22 ૨૨ પણ યોશિયાએ તેનું સાંભળ્યું નહિ અને તેની સાથે લડવા માટે ગુપ્તવેશ ધારણ કરીને ગયો. ઈશ્વરના મુખમાંથી આવેલા નકોનાં વચન તેણે કાન પર લીધાં નહિ અને મગિદ્દોના મેદાનમાં તે યુદ્ધ કરવા ગયો.
Josie nolde turne ayen, but made redi batel ayens hym; and he assentide not to the wordis of Nechao, bi Goddis mouth, but he yede for to fiyte in the feeld of Magedo.
23 ૨૩ નખોના ધનુર્ધારીઓ સૈનિકોએ યોશિયા રાજાને બાણ માર્યાં. તેથી રાજાએ તેના ચાકરોને કહ્યું, “મને લઈ જાઓ, કેમ કે હું સખત ઘવાયો છું.”
And there he was woundide of archeris, and seide to hise children, `Lede ye me out of the batel, for Y am woundid greetli.
24 ૨૪ તેના ચાકરો તેને તેના રથમાંથી ઉપાડીને બીજા રથમાં મૂકીને યરુશાલેમ લઈ ગયા. ત્યાં તે મરણ પામ્યો. તેને તેના પૂર્વજોની કબરોમાં દફનાવવામાં આવ્યો. સમગ્ર યહૂદિયા તથા યરુશાલેમે યોશિયાને માટે વિલાપ કર્યો.
Whiche baren hym ouer fro the chare in to an other chare, that suede hym, bi custom of the kyng, and `baren out hym in to Jerusalem; and he diede, and was biried in the sepulcre of hise fadris. And al Juda and Jerusalem biweiliden hym,
25 ૨૫ યર્મિયાએ યોશિયા માટે વિલાપ કર્યો; સર્વ ગાનારાઓએ તથા ગાનારીઓએ યોશિયા સંબંધી આજ પર્યંત સુધી વિલાપનાં ગીતો ગાતા રહેલાં છે. ઇઝરાયલમાં આ ગીતો ગાવાનો રિવાજ હતો. આ ગીતો વિલાપના પુસ્તકમાં લખેલાં છે.

26 ૨૬ યોશિયાનાં બાકીનાં કૃત્યો તથા ઈશ્વરના નિયમશાસ્ત્રમાં લખ્યા પ્રમાણે તેણે કરેલાં તેનાં સુકૃત્યો તથા

27 ૨૭ તેના બીજાં સેવાકાર્યો વિષે પહેલેથી તે છેલ્લે સુધી ઇઝરાયલ તથા યહૂદિયાના રાજાઓના પુસ્તકમાં લખેલાં છે.
and hise werkis, `the firste and the laste, ben wryten in the book of kyngis of Israel and of Juda.
