Προς Κορινθιους Α΄ 3

1 Κἀγώ, Κἀγώ, ἀδελφοί, οὐκ ἠδυνήθην λαλῆσαι ὑμῖν ὡς πνευματικοῖς ἀλλ᾽ ὡς (σαρκίνοις, *N(k)O*) ὡς νηπίοις ἐν Χριστῷ.

And I, brothers, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly—as to babies in Christ;

2 γάλα ὑμᾶς ἐπότισα, (καὶ *k*) οὐ βρῶμα· οὔπω γὰρ ἐδύνασθε, ἀλλ᾽ (οὐδὲ *N(k)O*) ἔτι νῦν δύνασθε·

with milk I fed you, and not with meat, for you were not yet able, but not even yet are you now able,

3 ἔτι γὰρ σαρκικοί ἐστε. ὅπου γὰρ ἐν ὑμῖν ζῆλος καὶ ἔρις (καὶ διχοστασίαι, *K*) οὐχὶ σαρκικοί ἐστε καὶ κατὰ ἄνθρωπον περιπατεῖτε;

for yet you are fleshly, for where [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are you not fleshly, and walk in the manner of men?

4 ὅταν γὰρ λέγῃ τις· ἐγὼ μέν εἰμι Παύλου, ἕτερος δὲ ἐγὼ Ἀπολλῶ, (οὐκ *N(k)O*) (ἄνθρωποί *N(K)O*) ἐστε;

For when one may say, “I, indeed, am of Paul,” and another, “I—of Apollos,” are you not fleshly?

5 (Τί *N(k)O*) οὖν ἐστιν Ἀπολλῶς (τί *N(k)O*) δέ (ἐστιν *no*) Παῦλος; (ἀλλ᾽ ἢ *K*) διάκονοι δι᾽ ὧν ἐπιστεύσατε, καὶ ἑκάστῳ ὡς ὁ κύριος ἔδωκεν.

Who, then, is Paul, and who Apollos, but servants through whom you believed, and to each as the LORD gave?

6 ἐγὼ ἐφύτευσα, Ἀπολλῶς ἐπότισεν, ἀλλ᾽ ὁ θεὸς ηὔξανεν·

I planted, Apollos watered, but God was giving growth;

7 ὥστε οὔτε ὁ φυτεύων ἐστίν τι οὔτε ὁ ποτίζων, ἀλλ᾽ ὁ αὐξάνων θεός·

so that neither is he who is planting anything, nor he who is watering, but He who is giving growth—God;

8 ὁ φυτεύων δὲ καὶ ὁ ποτίζων ἕν εἰσιν, ἕκαστος δὲ τὸν ἴδιον μισθὸν λήμψεται κατὰ τὸν ἴδιον κόπον.

and he who is planting and he who is watering are one, and each will receive his own reward according to his own labor,

9 θεοῦ γάρ ἐσμεν συνεργοί· θεοῦ γεώργιον, θεοῦ οἰκοδομή ἐστε.

for we are fellow-workmen of God; you are God’s tillage, God’s building.

10 κατὰ τὴν χάριν τοῦ θεοῦ τὴν δοθεῖσάν μοι ὡς σοφὸς ἀρχιτέκτων θεμέλιον (ἔθηκα, *N(k)O*) ἄλλος δὲ ἐποικοδομεῖ. ἕκαστος δὲ βλεπέτω πῶς ἐποικοδομεῖ.

According to the grace of God that was given to me, as a wise master-builder, I have laid a foundation, and another builds on [it],

11 θεμέλιον γὰρ ἄλλον οὐδεὶς δύναται θεῖναι παρὰ τὸν κείμενον, ὅς ἐστιν Ἰησοῦς (ὁ *k*) Χριστός.

for no one is able to lay another foundation except that which is laid, which is Jesus the Christ;

12 εἰ δέ τις ἐποικοδομεῖ ἐπὶ τὸν θεμέλιον (τοῦτον *k*) (χρυσόν, ἄργυρον, *NK(o)*) λίθους τιμίους, ξύλα, χόρτον, καλάμην,

and if anyone builds on this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw—

13 ἑκάστου τὸ ἔργον φανερὸν γενήσεται· ἡ γὰρ ἡμέρα δηλώσει, ὅτι ἐν πυρὶ ἀποκαλύπτεται, καὶ ἑκάστου τὸ ἔργον ὁποῖόν ἐστιν τὸ πῦρ (αὐτὸ *no*) δοκιμάσει.

the work will become visible of each, for the day will declare [it], because it is revealed in fire, and the work of each, what kind it is, the fire will prove;

14 εἴ τινος τὸ ἔργον μενεῖ ὃ ἐποικοδόμησεν, μισθὸν λήμψεται·

if the work of anyone remains that he built on [it], he will receive a wage;

15 εἴ τινος τὸ ἔργον κατακαήσεται, ζημιωθήσεται, αὐτὸς δὲ σωθήσεται οὕτως δὲ ὡς διὰ πυρός.

if the work of any is burned up, he will suffer loss, but himself will be saved, but so as through fire.

16 Οὐκ οἴδατε ὅτι ναὸς θεοῦ ἐστε, καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ θεοῦ οἰκεῖ ἐν ὑμῖν;

Have you not known that you are a temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you?

17 εἴ τις τὸν ναὸν τοῦ θεοῦ φθείρει, φθερεῖ τοῦτον ὁ θεός· ὁ γὰρ ναὸς τοῦ θεοῦ ἅγιός ἐστιν, οἵτινές ἐστε ὑμεῖς.

If anyone ruins the temple of God, God will ruin him; for the temple of God is holy, which you are.

18 Μηδεὶς ἑαυτὸν ἐξαπατάτω· εἴ τις δοκεῖ σοφὸς εἶναι ἐν ὑμῖν ἐν τῷ αἰῶνι τούτῳ, μωρὸς γενέσθω ἵνα γένηται σοφός. (aiōn g165)

Let no one deceive himself; if anyone seems to be wise among you in this age—let him become a fool, that he may become wise, (aiōn g165)

19 ἡ γὰρ σοφία τοῦ κόσμου τούτου μωρία παρὰ τῷ θεῷ ἐστιν. γέγραπται γάρ· ὁ δρασσόμενος τοὺς σοφοὺς ἐν τῇ πανουργίᾳ αὐτῶν·

for the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, for it has been written: “Who is taking the wise in their craftiness”;

20 καὶ πάλιν· κύριος γινώσκει τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς τῶν σοφῶν ὅτι εἰσὶν μάταιοι.

and again, “The LORD knows the reasonings of the wise, that they are vain.”

21 Ὥστε μηδεὶς καυχάσθω ἐν ἀνθρώποις· πάντα γὰρ ὑμῶν ἐστιν,

So then, let no one glory in men, for all things are yours,

22 εἴτε Παῦλος εἴτε Ἀπολλῶς εἴτε Κηφᾶς εἴτε κόσμος εἴτε ζωὴ εἴτε θάνατος εἴτε ἐνεστῶτα εἴτε μέλλοντα, πάντα ὑμῶν (ἐστιν, *k*)

whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things about to be—all are yours,

23 ὑμεῖς δὲ Χριστοῦ, Χριστὸς δὲ θεοῦ.

and you [are] Christ’s, and Christ [is] God’s.
